Just comming to the end of my last 1000 clear pigeon, and Im not overly impressed with them to be honest

They are ok for decoying and killing at decoying ranges, any thing else, I they think they perform poorly.

It could be a case of they dont pattern very well in my gun, who knows.

Dont think they are all cheap I paid £4.20 a box for the hull superfast 29g plastic and they want £5.60 and then there is postage too

They must be cheap per 1000 then :good:

For those like me, who's small local gun shop only stock a limited range of a particular brand of cartridge, of which pigeon cartridges are just over the £200 per 1000 mark, its nice to have a selection available, + the delivery cost, still come in at under £200 per 1000 and it saves me having to go and get them :good:

He's only ever stocked Gamebore :good:

Looked at scats and countrywide, prices are all about the same :good:

I do prefer #5', and you would be hard pushed to find a load #5's for under £200 per 1000. Just ordered some of those Chasse pigeon, so we'll see what they are like :good:

I recently bought 500 of these Express Chasse loads from an RFD in Norfolk and they work pretty well. Not the best in the world but they do the job. They are only a 2 and a half inch case and are ideally suited to lighter guns. The JC price for 500 is fifteen quid out and I didn't pay deliver charges. :D

Personally i prefer to pay a bit extra and get them from my local dealer, the price includes a cup of coffee a good old chat and years and years of experience and tips along with a wealth of local knowledge.. :good:

I too would use the local shop, if he stocked something else other than clear pigeon :good:

Just Cartridges have some nice cheap shells for sale at the moment :good:

http://www.justcartridges.com/binends.html

Some good priced pigeon cartridges too. Particularly interested in the Express Chasse Pigeon 29g #6 (continental 6's, so they are a UK #5)

Anyone ever used the Chasse Pigeon before :hmm:

Has your question been answered then?

LondonLuke,

The Just cartridges own branded clay cartridges are excellent,I have just been through 1000 of their fibre 7.5s on sporting clays and think they are as good as any premium brand. I dont know if they fit your definition of 'cheap' but about £200 per 1000 delivered.
