  1. So "Be patriotic. Help the Country (but lose money)"? Also, would this bond be for the whole of the UK (i.e. including wee Jimmy Crankie) or just England?
  2. Plusnet are owned by BT? We had great customer service from John Lewis Broadband - whose internet service is provided by Plusnet - BUT you get a dedicated John Lewis customer service line with short wait times and JL quality people to speak to.
  3. Am I missing something in the Government Bond idea? People will only buy bonds if there is a competitive rate of return and if HMG are currently borrowing at very low interest rates, why would they issue bonds that costs them higher interest?
  4. The new house we're building is quite remote so we either have Gigaclear 300Mb (even faster speeds available) or BT 1Mb if you're lucky - so no choice really. Voip is separately supplied by Vonage. Gigaclear product is very good but install and customer service are beyond dire. Vonage is great and we moved an 01234 area code number that we have had for years to a completely different area and any calls auto ring our mobiles anywhere (even out of the UK) - for free. The business line (also 01234) I can add to Vonage when we eventually move in, also for free - so no second line charge.
  5. Wimp. This guy did all 42 English counties on a Massey 135 towing a 3 ton trailer 😲 https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/the-all-england-rural-counties-charity-tractor-road-run-for-cancer-research-uk.227534/ All proceeds went to cancer research.
  6. All sorted (gave in, bought new Waters Rifleman).
  7. As above.Anyone got one laying in a drawer please?Just thought I'd check before buying new. Thanks in advance
  8. It's free software that overrides OEM (original equipment manufacturer) driver and can fix various glitches. Website here http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/
  9. Try a Gutenprint driver? I use one on a Mac / HP set up and much better than the OEM driver.
  10. Japan (Miroku) then "hand finished" in Belgium so it's not a hand made gun made by Browning. "Miroku Corporation is a Japanese firearms manufacturer located in Nankoku, Kōchi Prefecture. Their products include shotguns produced for Browning Arms Company and rifles licensed by Winchester Firearms. In European markets, these products are sold under both the Miroku and Browning brand names". Wikipedia
  11. ..It's not wee Krankie at the Shooting Not Permitted party put a ban on gun searches is it?
  12. If that's all original (no stock extension, no after market chokes etc) that has to start with at least a 5. Keep it. There's no money being made on money?
  13. Make sure you buy pre 1980 so it's definitely a Herstal gun.
  14. ..and you know I speak the language. The clue is in the name!

I've sat in several aircraft cockpit's arriving at the old HK airport and watched the marker boards on the hill align before "Sharp right NOW"! No direct ILS approach in them days. Put "Kai Tak" in to YouTube for some interesting approaches. Also (allegedly) a plane out of Kai Tak landed at Heathrow with a washing line attached to its tail where occupants of the high rise flats used to string their washing between buildings!!

  19. That is a smart idea. Thanks. Thanks TC. I might take you up on that.
  20. My Forester is black so the gold ones will look really naff - but there's a (currently out of stock) black one on Fleabay that isn't too expensive at £42.00 so I might wait for that if no other solution is found.
  21. Yes TC. That is what I mean by ugly (and expensive!).
  22. My tow hitch is about 2" / 50mm low for my (twin axle) trailer coupling and was considering putting a fixed height adjuster plate in place to correct that - but, as I tow various other trailers, I thought I'd look at the adjuster tow hitch fixings but they all seem over engineered, expensive and ugly? Would anyone know of a simpler adjustable tow hitch please - or do I stick with the fixed plate?
  23. Honda S2000? Great build quality, 100% reliable and not too complicated to tinker with. Now at the bottom of the depreciation curve so great value for money and a lot more comfortable than a Caterham.
