  12. Got my gun back on Friday. Sorted for the princely sum of 45 notes. A spring in the cocking mech had broken and was jammed in the cocking levers. Squint Bring on the birds!!
  13. WD 40 has a number of uses on of which is as a degreaser so not good for oiled parts. If I'm not mistaken this dieseling is something that goes on everyday in engines the world over, if you compress oil you get combustion which isn't good. Don't know wether this would happen in an air rifle barrel though wouldn't have thought the pressures and temperatures would have been high enough. If I'm wrong please correct me. Squint
  14. A full house in the forum but noones in the PW Arms!! Squint

  17. Jonnyni, my wife doesn't need that excuse she already has more shoes than there are days in the month. She said that none of them cost nearly £200 but when I pointed out that if she added up the cost of her shoes then mine there would be more than £200 pounds of a difference. Bring on the boots and the wellies!!! Squint
  18. Salopian, I took your advice re the nut at the back of the stock. I took it down the local harbour and got him a good screwing. It seems alot tighter now when the itching stops I hope to take it out again!!! Squint
  19. I'm in to just about anything! From punk to metal to rock to pop to classics to jazz if it sounds good to me I'm in to it. Squint
  20. Trying to get the wife convinced that I need a pair of Le Chameau Mouflon Plus she's coming round to my way of thinking. Cranfield I've always felt you should never scrimp on footwear, part of my arguement to the wife!!!! Squint
  21. Thanks for all the replies gents, I couldn't get to the computer yesterday so just took the gun in this afternoon to the gunsmith should get it back in a few days. First probelm I've had with the gun can't fault it's performance otherwise just wish it would hit more!!! Squint
  22. Ladies and gentlemen, I was wondering if any of you could help me. My Lanber over under has a problem, got to the shoot this morning and couldn't even open the gun half way, I took off the fore-end thinking it was on wrong and tried opening the gun and was able to take the barrels off. There was nothing apparently untoward refitted the barrels and fore-end still unable to open gun fully, after a bit of fiddling was able to get it open enough to put two carts in it was only when the first bird got up that a realised I only had the use of the bottom barrel. The ejector spring for the top unusable barrel was constanly setting so ejecting both the empty from the bottom and the unused from the top barrel. Got home stripped gun (cheers Lanber for your advice in the past). Here I was able to see the hammer for the top barrel wasn't being moved back far enough to catch and was just moving forward again. Sorry to go on but harder to explain than I thought. Any advice to save a trip to the gunsmith would be appreciated. Many thanks in advance Squint Ps really missed not having two barrels could have been a much better day.
  23. Aled, has the University of Life not yet taught you the section on irony?? Squint
