    Garden Irrigation

Thanks for the advice guys. Oldypigeon fellow, does your son have a website or how can I make contact? I've been doing some research and Hunter (fitting I know) seem to do some good quality gear. British made and a decent warranty. I'm gonna my to get a plan of the garden ready to start getting some prices. I'm probably going down the supply only route as I'll have builders on site so will get them to do the trenches etc. Thanks again guys
  3. More advice needed from the PW massif..... Looking at putting in garden irrigation, both Lawn and flower borders. Can you recommend any particular makes, seen a number put in that don't work after a while, I want to do it once and do it right. Thanks Cos
  4. Lifetime seemed the best one on the outset, but looking more at it, I realised that they can increase the premium and they can also refuse to cover the condition on renewal!! Which defeats the purpose somewhat. Looks like £it will cost £25 - £30 to get half decent cover, but if I spend that on Maximum payout type policy at least I'm covered for a larger amount.
  5. Can anyone shed any light on best type of dog insurance. I have been looking at "lifetime" policies as they are supposed to cover you "for life" if the dog has an ongoing issue as long as you insure again with that same insurer; But it also states that the insurer can withdraw that cover on renewal, so it isn't really life time! Can anyone help on best policy type? I'm looking on GoCompare Cos
  6. Not again!! Do yourself a favour and do some research before drafting these so called professionals, that way you are prepared to ask the right questions before letting Cowboys take advantage. Trust a trader is worth visiting, and it's a good idea to contact previous clients where possible. Good luck.
  7. mI really a struggled like you when I was looking for a plumber. I do t know if the guy who did mine will come to Chelmsford but I just sent him a text to ask. Good young lads, did lovely job on my bathroom. I'll let you know what he says. Cos
  8. I know this isn't what you're going to want to hear, but had the architect not made a mistake, your roof height would have been the same and you would have had to alter the window anyway. The only difference is that you found out later than you would have liked. I don't know where you are in Herts, but I can ask my brother who works at a double glazing firm to see if he can give you a decent price for the said window. Cos
  9. My personal opinion is that the standard colour stealth nets are the best. Very light, good cover, the inside mesh is tight which means your gun doesn't get tangled in it, and they are very compact when folded down. I have 2 of the standard green ones and use them 99% of the times i shoot. Even in harvest, if you set up in hedges you still have a green back ground. I have a separate harvest colour net in the event of setting up in the middle of the field, but it isn't used that often, not even every year, and I'm not convinced it makes that much difference. If you do look at the Stealth net option, be careful as there are loads of rubbish interpretations of them. I've had my first one for around 8+ years and there isn't a tear on it; been caught in brambles and thorns, and its as good as new. The second one i bought 2 or 3 years ago is just as good. Paul Hart on here sells them and a gentleman to deal with.. Cos
  10. Get yourself a stealth net and use in any situation. You can always add some natural vegetation if you feel you need to, but really not necessary. Actually I just remembered. I have an army net which is brown one side and green the other. You could try looking for one of those if you really wanted to; but they are bulky and heavy.
  11. No. The loops would govern where you set your poles and I like to build different shape/size hides so even some of my nets that do have loops, they don't get used.
  12. So if I understand correctly, the side extension roof, if built would be higher than the bottom of the side window. Whether he made a mistake or not, the height of the roof, unless it's higher than normal has to finish at the given height and the existing window made smaller. Failing that, lower the roof height to finish below the window.
  13. If you was selling your house and wanted to chase a chain via other agents, they wouldn't entertain you where as they would speak agent to agent. Your fee to a solicitor is so minimal that they will not chase a sale or purchase as often as me or you as a seller or buyer would want; in fact it's often the legal parties which cause the delays and complications. I'm not saying there is t any unscrupulous estate agents, but let's be clear, they would want nothing more than to finish a transaction in a day if they could. Delays, complications and heart aches are caused by solicitors, buyers, sellers and chains. The idea of charging a buyer an introductory fee was introduced when properties where hard to take on to sell. So agents would offer sellers zero selling fee as a way of taking their property on; I sold my house last year at full asking price and my buyer paid the fees. He was aware of those fees when he came to see the house so there was no surprises for him. What you do have to consider is that if you do pay the fee as a buyer, that fee is also subject to stamp duty.
  14. The problem is most people couldn't buy or sell a home without the help of an estate agent. It can be a very complex process and it's normally the agent who gets the brunt of it even when they don't deserve to.
  15. Sorry but I'm just not sold. If I don't have real birds I use either flocked shells or FUDs, as I shoot birds I add to the pattern eventually replacing with real birds. Maybe touch up the white bits with tippex if they are worn and even then I think it makes more difference to the shooter rather than the birds Cos
  16. Reminds me of an old Only Fools And Horses episode
  17. What a pointless post when you can't even be bothered to advise what type of hamster!! There are so many to choose from.....
  18. Not convinced. If there was any evidence that UV paint would attract the birds more, every decoy manufacturer would be using it. Save your money and watch the fields more to understand the birds better is my advice.
  19. Great write up, sounds like a great day.
  20. That was a great video with inspirational shooting!! Thanks for sharing. Cos
  21. Just go on eBay, loads on there for every budget. As has been said, there's no need to keep it going. Nothing wrong with letting it sit unwound.

    Semi autos.

I was also surprised. I came across it by mistake watching a Youtube video about cleaning the gun. I thought "that can't be right", but checking mine, it is that simple. Totally agree with you though, it borders on negligence from the manufacturer.

    Semi autos.

You have the A400 don't you Jdog? I was quite surprised that you can increase the number of cartridges this gun will hold simply by pulling a plastic rod out of the magazine tube!! Any other semi auto I have seen, the tube is normally crimped and you would need to by a bigger tube. Of course, this would be illegal when the gun comes under normal SGC!!
