  1. Bought my wife an SD4, lovely car. Drives really well, feels solid and not had a single issue.
  2. I'm not a gas engineer I had a Valiant system fitted in my last house and though it worked well, I also had to keep topping up the pressure every 6-8 weeks. Not sure if it was connected but when the boiler was first fitted and fired up, the plumbers hadn't fitted the overflow pipe because of unfinished work in the garage; It was running like that for about 6 weeks. Anyway, they had a temporary pipe fitted and a bucket and I noticed the system would dump water out pretty regularly, it wasn't just a trickle, it would dump out maybe 1 or 2 mugs worth. I have no idea how often they should dump any water, but I had to keep an eye on the pressure to avoid the error. It became routine for me so I never followed it up, I doubt mine was a leak issue because once all fitted, the system was pressure tested for two days before it was fired up.
  3. Another great video Wayne, keep em coming please. What gun you using now? presuming that was all done with 7.5's and tight chokes? Great shooting as always!! Cos

    Magtame

You can send them back to Magtame and he still repairs them for about £25
  7. Its a large booking and probably not so easy to refill with walk in trade depending on the restaurant/location etc. I think if 1 or 2 of you dropped out you could argue a point, but the whole group, I'm not sure. Also depends on how "last minute"

  10. Do like that bumble bee second hand and the yellow accent minute markers!! I've got my eye on a moonwatch now, but the more you read up on the history of the watch the harder the decision on which one to go for.

  12. A minuscule offering for such high return in perception for that company.
  13. Rolex watches are a quality product without doubt, but what really sets them apart from other quality brands including my favorite which is Omega, is their marketing. Like many quality manufacturers Rolex tend to keep models going for many years with very little change at all. In my opinion this years new offerings in Basel from Rolex have been their biggest leap in changes for a long time where they have increased case sizes to keep with current big face trends and also change some of their movements bringing them more up to date with modern advances in technologies. Only time (excuse the pun) will tell if the purists like this move, and I have already seen debates over whether Rolex made the right move. Through an amazing marketing strategy, Rolex have managed to get their name into almost every crevice around the world, you won't find many people on the planet who wouldn't mention Rolex if you asked them to name a quality watch brand, It could be argued that Rolex isn't "high end" when you start to consider the likes of Patek, Audemars, Blankpain, Chopard, but through clever marketing, they are definitely one of the biggest players. Other brands, and I'll mention Omega again, have watched this strategy and are starting to follow suit. Their quality is up there with the likes of Rolex, but their strategy has had to follow a different route to keep a foot holding in the market which have kept their prices lower than say Rolex; Now they have a strong holding, their pricing strategy is starting to follow the Rolex Model and the used market is seeing healthy increases in value. What Rolex have managed to do so well is to market a high quality product to the masses, making very little to no changes over years but still able to increase their prices year after year; so a Submariner which would have cost say £1000 many years ago now cost £6k+ for a new one, This inevitably pushes second hand prices up where people can't afford a new one but are willing to pay 3 and 4 times what a second hand one cost when it was sold new. Watches are a mechanical engineering marvel. You don't need to spend thousands to enjoy them, you will find one to suit every pocket, I can admire and love the look of a £100 Seiko but would never entertain a fake no matter how good someone thinks it is. Here's a picture of a present from my wife.... And the bit they can't copy.... Cos

    Kitchen Knives

I have just read some old posts but there isn't anything here outside of a few years old. What kitchen knives would you recommend? is it still the same contenders of Global, Wusthof, Robert Welch and the like? I've never had a "great set of knives and now that we are fitting a new kitchen I'm looking at dumping loads that i have to get a a few decent ones that I'll use.
  15. Great work La Bala If you need somewhere to test them out, you're welcome to come round. Always happy to help out if I can
  16. Some interesting misconceptions about watches and value, but hey ho, everyone is entitled to an opinion. I personally don't get why anyone wants to buy.a fake watch and sponsor scamsters. Loads of great cheap genuine watches around to suit any budget, why buy something illegal and fake? And those buying the "can't tell the difference" £500 ones, jeez, the scamsters just love you guys!! Don't be fooled into thinking they are identical, put a photo on a specialised forum and see the watch get ripped apart.
  17. Just checked for the Disco and it's £74 + £19 for an MOT It's worth doing it just to get a head to toe report on the car let alone the oil and filter changes. I'm sure you could negotiate paying the difference on specific oils and parts if you wanted.
  18. You're out of date with modern tanks. You can vape 3ml of liquid in a short session! Gone are the days when 10ml bottles lasted 3 days......
  19. Parrot do excellent kits. because he never wanted to make calls before now....
  20. Of course it's all about cost, and I fully appreciate that. If funds are available, it's well worth investing in a decent seat being you can be on it for many hours. Nothing worse than being either unstable or uncomfortable when sitting in a hide all day. For me, investing in the Bergara seat which has a back rest is money very well spent. As others have said, using a barrel is ok, but it will limit you to looking for an appropriately flat bit of ground to set up instead of the ideal shooting spot; The Bergara copes with this having independently adjustable legs. Add to that the back rest and swivel seat, and it is an excellent bit of kit. Cos
  21. Totally understand Thanks anyway guys
  22. Hear what you're saying. I'm a competent DIY'r and have hung a number of doors in th past. I'm also too bloody fussy I'll work it out, I was just after a method so to speak, else it will be bit by bit removing and refitting loads of times till I get it right.
  23. Actually they are solid oak doors bought from a door company. Cheers for the advice
  24. I've just hung two internal Oak french doors which are not recessed in the middle. The doors are hung and lined up top and bottom, but I haven't trimmed them in the middle yet and there is approximately 1mm overlap at the top and 2-3mm down the bottom where they meet in the middle. Note, the doors are hung on short 'parliament' hinges. My question is this, how do I work out the smallest gap between the two doors before I start planing and making the gap too big? I'm fine doing this on a single door, but having done this years ago, in order to allow both doors to open or close at the same time, the gap ended up too big so they didn't touch. Being these are also on parliament hinges, the swing would also be greater than standard hinges I think! Any tips on how to mark out my lines for planing etc, would be much appreciated. Hope this makes sense..... Cos
  25. Great offer, hopefully people without permision take the opportunity and respect your kind invite accordingly. Hope you have a great day
