Yep..Ran with them myself 2 years ago...its an amazing place to be even if you don't actually do any running..party time! Bilbao was were we went to (apart from me and a mate that missed the flight so took another flight to somewhere else (not got a clue) and drove cross country for 5 hours!
  2. D&T those were the days. In my final year i designed and built a fishing platform, and also associated rests and fold out tables. I bet things have moved on in the last 12 years (don't get to go any more) but i'm sure it is something you could come up with innovative designs for and combine different manufacturing methods and materials, metal work, plastics rubbers etc... Not sure of the significance of resistant materials though... for someone who has been out of school for a while what does it mean to be doing resistant materials? :yp:
  3. I would like to point out that i did not use any search criteria associated with the name of this website! click here Think my girl friend would seriously question what i was looking for when i found this! :yp:
  4. Yep, I've done the vegas experience........ I will say though...... don't go unless you want to enter a world of sin. A world of sin you say..... right thats my flights booked!
  5. Do you want to contact the other person to get some money back or to report them. If it is about money then I don't think you will get any satisfaction. If it is to warn the other guy that he or his garage had done a shoddy job then, ok that would be ok. Cheers taz. Nothing to do with money, more to do with the risk of someone else getting hurt...
  6. I had a sudden 'What if' moment today about an issue i had with my car so i thought i would pass it on. Earlyer this year i bought a second hand car, V plate, got a few miles on it but being German it didn't worry me. Well i have had a few problems but reading on the net it was all standard common faults that people get on newer versions and it was cheap enough in the first place to not get too worried about the additional cost of repair..however the other night the breaks failed, and it kind of freaked me out a bit. I had been doing fractionally over the speed limit down a local strech of motor way (not my normal habit i have to add but i wanted to push the car in light of some recent work done), all seemed fine and i pulled off at the junction for where i live, followed the road round, slowed down and took the first corner, come to a second turning and went to stop and there was nothing, not a sausage, only a grinding noise and very little resistance. Luckily i didn't actually have to stop completely and i was only doing about 20 mph at the time so the car soon slowed to a stand still, after gingerly testing to see what stopping power i had i concluded the H/break worked and there was still some front breaking (but not much) I was only round the corner from my house and it was late evening and not much traffic. i pulled into the drive, parked up, had a little rude word about the car costing yet more money and went in as it was Dark - no chance of seeing what was the problem. Anyway next morning, went out to have a look fully expecting a master cylinder failure or a burst break pipe but no, believe it or not as i looked through the wheel it was clear to see that the whole break pad, including the plate was missing..my first reaction was, What the Fu@k how the hell is that possible. got on the phone to a few mates and also my garage, no one has really come accross it happening but conclude the face and backing plate must have seperated. got the car picked up and wait for the call. Later that afternoon Dave calls me (the mechanic), he explains that the estate version of my car (like mine) has vented rear discs, 19mm wide, the saloon has solid, 10mm wide, some one had fitted saloon discs to my estate and once the pad had worn to the appropriate thinkness i applied the breaks and whoosh out shot the break pad..... Luckily there was no other damage but it has shook me up to think that only moments before i had been doing 70+ mph and if i had really needed them my breaks probably would had failed - with unknown consequences. What do people think - should i contact the person i bought it off (Feb/March 2008) and investigate if they had a garage do the work or if the guy did it himself? I'm not sure i have any paper work refering to discs being changed! Or should i just put it down to good luck that i found the problem and leave it at that?
  7. If it is to be a doggy groomer surely "Doggy Style" would work
  8. A Bump for a top guy, i can confirm these chokes are brand new and never had a shot through them!
  9. thats a top notch job you have done there, funny thing is i found your thread because i was looking to do a similar thing myself - just wondered what people had already had a go at doing! well you have inspired me so i may have to see what i can do, i have considered trying to make a cast and then molding one possibly out of aluminium or a fibreglas resin..hmm will have to investigate further. thanks for the inspiration Sam

I'm not looking to get into a bun fight about stuff but I want to ask about the above statement, especially in relation to...bled the population dry with more and more taxes and borrowed more and more to pay their way.. What exactly does this mean? Are we saying that politicians rake in the cash and use it personally, is it a lord of the manor arrangement whereby they own the land and we are merely paying rent? Now I'm not sure exactly what the entire wage bill of all the associated political people and associates are but I can pretty much guarantee it is not a patch on the 300billion of public money that is spent within our own economy (which I think is about half although I stand to be corrected) that we provide and in essence keeps millions and millions and millions of people in employment - not to mention the direct employees themselves in civil service and all the people in the armed forces etc... which makes are economy grow year and year increases our wages and provides us with a modern standard of living... Now I don't disagree that the people who have the responsibility (elected) for making these decisions have not always made the best ones and some things have turned out pretty ****ty because of that, but a whole host of other things are ****ty for a whole host of other reasons...and for allot of that we should look at ourselves, think of the millions each year spent on repairing vandalism, think of the millions wasted on public services having to replace lost and stolen equipment, think of the millions having to be spent defending doctors and nurses in court from people who are chasing big settlements after someone who was trying to do their job to the best of their ability didn't get it quite right(i appreciate when mistakes happen that change peoples lives we should make sure they can maintain a standard of living) and so on and so on and so on Not all good leaders have been popular (not that i am saying brown is), and many of them at the time were openly criticized and lambasted but in the end it appeared they were right. I agree and have openly said that it really looks like Brown is not listening to the nation, but then I am not in his shoes and do not know what he knows - yep we are paying for it at the moment but if it means short term pain for long term gain then I am with it... something to think about, if 80% of the wealth of any country is owned by 20% of the people that means in China you have over 200million very rich people - over 3 times the population of the UK, if you factor in India with the same kind of numbers we suddenly start to be insignificant with no global purchasing power or influence - how are we going to compete for natural resource, food and water in such a situation. Things are rubbish now but how are they going to be when India and china make the decisions that effect the globe, when its China who "invades" countries based on a national security threat - the point is running a country is not easy and I certainly do not see any animal farm mentality in our democracy - Ok back to the point - do we seriously think politicians make these decisions to "pay their way"? I'm not convinced! Sure there are bad decisions and ones we certainly don't understand but if you are going to criticize then make sure you have you motives straight......I think people with money get into politics not the other way around.
  12. Ermm.....I have a question....what does it mean to have ported barrels? Cheers for the advice Brian, it looks like i may have just gone and done exactly what you advised!
  13. Well that has opened up an option, not looked at these before. looks like a very nice gun indeed! Would have to get me hands on one to have a feel..so to speak... thanks for the comment, mroe food for thought i guess!
  14. Nice spot Gordon - might have to check it out. I'm always after a bargin but experience tells me if its cheap, there has to be a reason! Bargin hunting is all about hoping the reason is the seller..not the equipment! must have missed that one unless it just came up cheers
  15. cheers guys, really appreciate the input. I have had alot of time on my hands to look on the internet recently and it certainly looks like nothing has polarized opinion more than the cynergy. I have to admit my first choice is the Ulta as i have shot with this gun and really like the feel of it, but i do actually like the looks of the Cynergy and its not a gun you see on all the time (well i haven't), which i know is not the most important thing but has to count for something. I havn't shot with one but had every intention of trying before i buy which is why i was hoping to get some one local who would let me see what i could miss with it! I also like the styling of 682E - I just feel both this and the Cynergy look more modern which is something i prefer. Well lets see what comes up - Certainly not adverse to looking at any of the Browning or Miroku range, i have shot with alot of them and apart from the MK38 being a bit high in the comb i seemed to score consistantly with them all!
  16. Well just like above really. Willing to have a ride out for the right gun and with the right communication wouldn't say no to an RFD transfer. Ideally i would like an Ultra XS but i do like the Cynergy and i also quite like it in composite so let me know what you have got. I don't mind the odd scratch on the stock and general signs of wear and tare..just as long as the price reflects the condition. cheers guys
  17. we got one of those wii fit things..good for a laugh especially for my misses! She got on and it said she was idea~l! When i got on it said i was obese and my little Wii Mii thing got fatter...now when ever i make a remark to her she makes the noise the Wii did when it changed my Mii into a fatty...god damn thing!
  18. I'm not a rifle man but i think its excellent you guys share these lessons learned, it can too often be a heavy price to pay to learn what you share. Reed, Out of interest could you just outline to a newbie how you dealt with the cart...much appreciated.
  19. hehe made me think of this..makes me laugh every time!
  20. a bit on the heavy side but an interesting post none the less. In any normal business where problems exist there are usually 2 ways of looking at it, 80 20 rule..e.g focus on the top 20% of your issues that generally account for 80% of your problems (and plastic bags certainly don't fit into that category) or there are the proverbial quick wins - which I'm guessing is where the good old bags sit. If it were a simple issue then I think the appropriate boffins would work out the highest priority and then all of the powers that be would cancel all their second home expenses claims allowances and redirect the GDP of a small country to solving the problem... The reality is not that simple, the general public, on average (normal distribution and all that) don't know how complex and interrelated the natural resources of the world can get (I know for one I do not) or even comprehend the level of joined up thinking you have eloquently put above, and in many ways it is arrogant of so called intellects to expect that people should! - therefore that is why communities elect leaders, learned people to guide them to a better future, the issue I have with this and is something that is squarely in our face at the moment across the pond in the states - leaders no longer seem to have to demonstrate genuine leadership, they have to be popular, what did I hear some one call it once "pop-olitics" just look at the amount of money Hillary Clinton is in debt by due to TV advertising etc.... Anyway back to the point - Why do we expect anything less than for government policies to follow popular (if ill-informed - no matter by what source) opinion - they want to be popular. plastic bags are a quick win, especially for the poles - but it certainly isn't going to do any harm to help to reduce the use of them - as ultimately what is the goal? and once the quick wins have been won and the issue still exist the hard choices are the only ones left to make! Although I'm not 100% sure of your motives (feels a little defensive regarding company / Industry image) I do particularly agree with the constructive approach you have to addressing many of the problems that would sit in the top 20% bracket. I also particularly agree with you media comments and I think we would go along way if we could shift the emphasis from fiction to fact in what is popular media - I too would love to be famous but for at least contributing something productive, not because I was on a TV show for 15 mins 4 years ago and last night I got my (man) boobs out as I came out of a night club - but again that's what popular culture now a days rewards! Its a bit off track but I think one of the saddest things these days is when you see young children being asked what they want to be...Famous!
  21. B) well for 3 years now my Garage has been home to a car i have been promising to restore, in that time i have sourced just about all the bits and have slowely been removing random items when the mood took me... The time has now come to get serious with this project and i am looking for some space that i can work in.. Something secure and preferably with Power (although i could get a gen) Competative rates - obviously willing to pay for it Would also be a bonus if you know about fixing up cars...i could do with the help :yp: . 22. Hi, might be interested. Is that pic of the actual gun or one just like it?
  23. Top news that, same thing happened to me last week..although it was made even better by the fact i was lying on the beech...phone rings, notice its the big boss , well done he says you have been promoted and then told me i had my second pay rise in 4 months, i said before putting the phone down and promptly went to the bar... the only down side was i let slip to the misses how much the pay rise was..that night the restaurant choice was decidedly more expensive...
