  3. If you want my two pence worth have you considered a Nissan Pathfinder. For the budget you got you could get a nearlly new pathfinder. I got a 57 reg with 4000 miles on the clock for nearlly half price £15 000. Ticks all the boxes for me two kids nagging wife and dog no probs in it. Dai
  4. We had our garage broken into years ago, boys in blue told us who done it but had no evidance. The old man battered one of them in town only to be told it was his brother. B) Check out car boots you never know some of your gear may turn up there.
  5. Magnetandsteel, Which 410 do you have mate? Id say it's not far off the mossy 410 pump using 3" cartridges................... still very quiet As GH said, you can hear the shot when it hits the birds, and the 30grm 5's subsonic loads do kill VERY well They would be a good cartridge for a young beginner to use also Chris it's a single barrel Baikal, I like it so much that's why I was wondering about a bigger bore , it's as quiet as a mouse ****. Only job is now persuading err I mean telling the wife I'm getting one. Dai
  6. Live sand eel are deadly, easiest way is tie a boom to your main line with the weight attached. Braid is ideal lets you use minimum amount of weight. Then tie swivel with a length of flurocarbon, between 5 and 10 foot length, circle hook size 2 I use and hook eel through eyes. You will miss a few with the circle hooks but any that aren't big enough go back easily. Don't strike let the fish hit the bait and lift into it. Carp rod with light gear and you'll have a great scrap. Dai
  7. Cheers Green Hunter may well invest in one. Early Crimbo pressie to myself. Dai
  8. Darren I'm in exactly the same position as you, it's the look over his shoulder as he's running off that's the worst bit. Feel like throttling him when he gets back untill he rolls over and gives you the spaniel eyes treatment.
  9. Got mine on the go yesterday, going to pick so more next weekend. I found a recipie which said to add vanilla extract, has any one tried this, if so comments appreciated. I ended up using half and half of caster sugar and vanilla sugar. Will let you know the outcome when its ready. Dai
