    Jack's Game

I watched the full set of Jack's Game recently (vhs to dvd rip by the look of it) and thought it was a really good watch. Some of the people on there were very entertaining... My question is has anyone seen this on sale on DVD anywhere? Would like to get a copy of decent quality but wonder if it ever survived the vhs cull? Google doesn't offer much!
  2. I have a pc with 1gb of ram that is probably 4ish years old running XP. I feel no need to upgrade as all i use it for is surfing the net and for watching films and it copes with both activites with no issues. It doesn't like running multiple things at one (but then neither does my brain...) but i rarely have call to do that. Having a few bits of software like ASC and malware seem to keep it ticking over fine. Having a nice shiny new pc is an attractive prospect but the cost isn't! I think it sounds like the OP can just stick with what he has. Mac book is an insane choice for someone just wanting to surf the net. Awesome bit of kit but only if your going to utilise most of its potential. £850 isn't quite so easy for a lot of people to come up with, i think it's unfair to assume that people have vast sums of disposable income... In fact my iphone surfs the web fine (unless it involves flash...) and i reckon that will have a lot lower spec! Although it's not trying to run xp...

    PW mobile

The full version works fine on the iphone but i find the mobile site doesn't work well at all. When viewing topice you only see the original post and none of the follow up replies... Yes you can switch to the full version but that is nowhere near as user friendly, anyone got any ideas why the mobile site isn't showing all posts?
  4. Or you could get a ps3 instead of a blu-ray player. This now has bbc iplayer and you can purchase a freeview tuner for them, you can also pause/rewind/record using this tuner. This would replace the need for mulitple boxes and will upscale dvd's... I would agree that a seperate amp and surround sound would be good, richer sounds have a lot of good deals on at the moment. One thing to bear in mind is getting an amp that will be compatable with 3d tv (kind of future proof it as much aa you can) as most new amps seem to run on hdmi connections rather than optical etc signals. this way you can plug everything into the amp and then run a single source to the tv.
  5. Hi, thanks for the heads up, will try and get a look!
  6. If he had too much ammo (per the terms of his fac) that might be justifiable but removing the SGC seems a little harsh. Also nice to note that the tresspasser get away without charge and the people connected to the cannabis factory also get away with it. Well done Essex police... Although i feel we may not be in posession of all the facts it initially seems unfair.
  7. Hi, Am looking for a Browning Medalist (or FIAS equivalent) 20 bore, have been keeping an eye on here and gun trader etc but haven't seen any come up at a sensible price! Please pm me if you have anything suitable as i check my e-mails more often than i am able to get on here to review topics etc. Thanks!
  8. Pardew is great.... at sleeping with players wives and causing dressing rooms tensions. I don't really understand how he is better than Hughton. He has more experience at being a 'top flight' manager but i feel Hughton had better 'top flight' experience just not in charge... I think Ashley just hates the geordie fans and has decided he will write off his £100m and try his best to screw them over...
  9. I would be amazed (and now i've said it probably proved wrong) if Jol had left Ajax to then go to Newcastle. Mainly because the two of them were together at spurs for a couple of years and experienced joint heart break at being binned for the spanish imposition... Jol left Ajax because of (what he thought) were unfair expectations put on him and the club by directors and fans surely Newcastle are the biggest english example of this? Yes they have a lot of fans and a big stadium but they DESERVE nothing, success is earned!
  10. Yeah have tried selecting the full version and that does resolve it but i think the original view works much better on screen and removes the need for constant zooming etc. Find it very odd that it works for most people and not for me, must be a setting somewhere!!
  11. I have found the new site doesn't work that well on my iphone. Mainly as it says a topic has a number of replies yet when i open the topic i can only see the original post and sometimes one reply. It's definitely not working correctly as i have sat with the forum on my phone and pc to cross reference. Not sure if its something i am doing wrong... Any other iphone users experienced this problem?
  12. Thanks guys, actually found shiply when doing a bit of googling this morning. Got an auction on the go at the moment and current leading bid is £48 which i thought was pretty good! I will also make some enquiries to the other people suggested by ME. Once again thanks for the suggestions!
  13. Hi, Have just purchased myself a piece of furniture that i need to get transported from Tonbridge (Kent) to Chelmsford (Essex) and was wondering if anyone on here could recommend a good company/individual for the job (man with a van type thing). Sadly i think the piece is just a little too big to be wedged in the back of my defender... Thanks for any recommendations!
  14. I bought a 200tdi defender for 3k this time last year (with the r380 gearbox and later rear axel with disc brakes) and use it for shooting every week. When it had the mot done it needed a bit of welding on the suspension mounts but other than that no issues. Parts are cheap and even for someone with limited mechanical knowledge like me most fixes are possible with the assistance of my haynes manual! Some panels have slight marks/dents but proper defenders should so i'm told... It is slightly agricultural to drive (but does have power steering) for me that's part of the charm, i don't do long motorway mileage in it but it is perfect for what i need it for. One of the most fun things has been saving peoples who's van's/jags etc get stuck in fields or can't do slight inclines when its frosty!
  15. If this seems to be working fine for other people maybe it's just an issue with my work pc. I have noticed previously that the sky news/sports websites can take some time to load but normally PW is fairly instantaneous (from work). The url has not been banned by work... yet.
  16. Just tried to access the url above to check out the site and it doesn't seem to want to load (the actual site url not the fb one), not the best introduction!! Not trying to have a dig but imagine (unless its a localised issue) that many potential visitors may be experiencing the same problem.
  17. I think you only need to change the block if you need to be able to run more cables from the dish. 1 is enough for standard viewing, 2 if you want to be connect one of the boxes that allows you to watch and record at the same time. You can get 4+ blocks if you want to be able to connect mutliple boxes within the house.
  18. I particularly enjoy watching people who scoff at defenders getting stuck and then asking for me to tow them out of the predicament they have got themselves into. Also dragging a brand new x-type up a slightly icy hill in January was a partivular treat. I don't enjoy other peoples misfortune but i do like occasionally being able to prove why defenders (mostly) enjoy a good and well earned positive reputation.
  19. People seem to be very down on defenders unless they actually own one! I have had one (200tdi) for a while and have experienced no mechanical issues. It was leaking water through a seal in the back but this was easily (and cheaply) replaced - you have to expect seals to be slightly perished on a vehicle now 20 years old! They are comparitively more expensive than almost any other alternative but having had a test drive in quite a number of different vehicles i preferred the defender every time! I feel part of the driving experience rather than being sat on top of some boat. One issue to beware of is buying one that a have-a-go owner has been 'tinkering' with. You can't blame the vehicle (or its manufacturers) when most of the issues experienced are as a result on someone else's poor maintenace or shoddy modifications.
  20. Hi, you don't appear to have replied to my PM, i know i didn't take the extra step of posting that i had sent you one but didn't think that would be necessary! Don't get why people feel the need to tell you they have sent you a pm (as its the first thing to pop up when you log on) but seems i have missed a trick.
  21. It is indeed a very good offer. I had been in touch and was very keen but having thought long and hard about it decided i could not dedicate enough time to the required feeding and pest/***** poacher control - we have had a lot of issues round here with people going pheasant lamping at night, thousands of pounds worth of birds going in one night! Working in London town not getting home til 8 and then needing to drive from Chelmsford would just be too much for me. However if there is anyone who is decides to take this on I would be very keen to lend my assistance at weekends and as a 'paid up' member of the syndicate.
  22. Hi, I'm after a tool for crimping closed the end of 12 bore shotgun cartridges (I guess it the sort of thing someone would use for reloading). Was told to check ebay but couldn't find anything so thought i would ask the good folk on here! Just want something cheap and cheerful as its so i can use spent cartridges to make some of those fan like displays in a frame (that seem to cost a shed load!!). Thanks
  23. Whats the excess of the policy? If its a minor ding reckon it'll be less than the excess you would pay anyway. You claiming it was you driving is fraud... (I work for an insurance brokers) and that could be a major issue if it ever comes to light. As others have said if you do the honest thing, you'll have to admit to having claimed and she'll have to admit to have daving an accident, you'll both get stung!
  24. Sorry guys watching the gooners lose to tottenham on Sunday (hopefully) so have to be in london early, let me know the next time! Thanks Tim
