My lab bitch is just gone 1 year old and I have put off having a pup until she is older and better trained Will prob wait until she is ATLEAST 2 before I get another one! Dont rush it mate, having a naughty untrained older dog will just make your pup naughty aswell and then you end up with 2 naughty dogs. and its a nightmare trying to get a youngish dog to be obedient when theres a young pup about cos they just want to go off and play with the pup, when there older they not that bothered with playing as much and are easier to work with

Ive been told by some top lab men not to train when Bitch is in Season, although different bitches react differently, Mine seemed fine and still retrieved fine when I was just playing but I still left it a few weeks

Take some rly good steaks n then wack em out, just make sure there packed well yum yum!!

How is she so well trained already ? I still cant teach mine to do roll over or paw Although shes pretty good at double and blind retrieves so Im not complaining

Tell your MIL if its upsetting her then she needn't come round any more Springers are tough lil *******, at that age he should have a nice thick coat to keep Him warm! You can try puttin sumthin smelly like tripe on the other side of the flap bet he would soon to pushing through into the kennel to get at it

Tell the house its tough luck! Who are they ? If the farmer has pests there and there damaging the crop and you have permission to shoot there its got sod all to do with them aslong as you are not causing a hazard!

I just used to walk mine down to the waters edge like every day, if she only wanted to paddle she would. As soon as she started swimming then she would turn around, after time she got more used to it and now swims like a fish, just spend alot of time around the water and let the dog process in its own time. If you try n push it the dog may end up more frightened

How old is she ? My lab went through a phase when younger of just barking at men but was fine with women, sometimes they just go through lil phases lol, just dont encourage it, light tap on the nose maybe to show its not ok. Nothing hard is needed. All the best

Indeed, works a treat. With the pup Id normally be lying on the living room floor or something n thn wen it nips lie flat making the whining noise whilst ignoring it. The pup would soon start licking you saying sorry quite funny really. If the pup did it again I would do it again, If the pup did it again I would pup her in her crate for about 5 minutes Worked a treat! I know some dogs that mouth terribly at about 5-7 months, Mine never did it from the age of about 3 months

Puppies do it to each other to play, if one puppy does it too hard then the other puppies will stop playing with it because it hurts. When the pup does it Ignore it for a while, try also whining like a pup did, I did this as funny as it sounds, worked amazingly well and also now the lab is sooo gentle when taking things with her mouth When someone gives her the odd treat she is complimented on how gentle she is when she takes it

I saw one looked very good, although you have to cut it into the right shape, was about £40, OR you can get it fitted and cut to shape for £70. What do you think ? I was thinking of having it done as I dont want to mess it up lol

Might try sticking some rabbit skins on a dummy and putting it ion light cover, then working my way upto heavier cover. I turned down the pup I was looking at anyways Get the lab a bit better trained first

Sounds good harry. Bet he's a joy to shoot over! Good bit of sport shooting rabbits with the shotty, we have a "bolting rabbit" clay station down the local ground so you can practice. Just make sure never to take a shot if the dog gives chase lol, could end up as a disaster! Just to add I didn't mean have you never heard of sit to flush, I meant have you never heard of people shootin bolting rabbits that the dog has flushed ? I know quite a few people who do it and none of them has ever shot his own dog lol

I know a few people who do this, although you dont shoot the rabbit whilst the dog is chasing it. There's a reason they train the dog to "sit on flush". Have you never heard of this before ?

Im not rushing into it. I am not even sure whether to go for her. The breeder has told me if I want her she is mine but am tempted to leave her go and maybe look for one next season as having alot of work done in the garden at the moment and going to be moving the kennel into a new spot / setup. Am tempted as she looks a stunning pup and from cracking lines. Such a shame to let it go lol!

What you think of the lines she's from ? Im not that clue'd up on pedigree's lol! Seems ok to me. Someone going to see her next week so she might go lol! If so guess I'll just have to keep looking!

Most I have seen are around £400 - £450 especially for a bitch. My mate dog a dog pup n payed £400 for him Anyways rather tempted she does look lovely
