  1. Im pretty sure Tesco car park does not count as the Public Highway and therefore normal rules apply. Check up on this. If so... tell the beatch to go **** herself haha
  2. All dogs got noses lol. Lots of breeds can flush one pheasant. Always nice to see the dog put one up when your not expecting it I love it when my Lab puts up wild pheasant, snipe or woodcock when out on a walk
  3. Mix pineapple into his food mate some dogs are just poo eaters , alot will eat sheep poo. A few dog poo n some even there own lol! I hear pineapple gives it very sour taste n puts them off eating it
  4. Read my post above. Thats probally the main reason there isnt a chcolate FTCH, because theres alot less of them being worked. If every chocolate born had been snapped up by gundog trainers unlike pet owners I have no doubt there would be a few chocolate ftch's
  5. I guess thats just life mate! What can we do ? Hope your family gets through this difficult time
  6. :o ... no need to be a ***** mate :o Nice photo Mike. Congratz
  7. Im so sorry mate. The hospitals just rung my house. My mothers uncle is on the edge, her n her sister have rushed down. He was always really nice and got me into shooting when I went to stay with him. Gutted isn't the word!
  8. Again try this. Also EVERYTIME she pulls stop and make her sit. Refuse to move from the spot until she sits and waits. You must always move off first aswell Mine whos now 9 months used to pull a few weeks ago and taking advice and doing this has sorted it completely
  9. Swapping the 243 for a 270 mate ? Given up on a 308 then ? Hope you get it without restrictions this time
  10. I doubt it makes much difference I think chockies have picked up this "Can't be Gundogs" because It seems to me they are MUCH more favoured as pets and therefore when born are normally snapped up or bred just as pets and not bred to work like others. With Puppy farmers n such Breeding just chocolates for the look not much has gone into keeping there working ability, where as Blacks n some yellows are being bred selectively to work This is what I think has gone on anyways. Im sure theres plenty of working choc labs out there Also the fact there less common is probally why there are any FT CH Chocolate labs
  11. If you really want an ESS then go for it as you'll always be thinking, "What If Id got a spaniel ?" I wanted one for beating but there "too nuts" said my mum lol so we got a Lab. Thats why I plan to get one in the future. My labs is lovely aswell mind so its all good
  12. Yes my Lab will hunt up birds. She has put up plenty of wild Pheasant, Snipe Woodcock and Ducks out of Reeds and Marshes. I know quite a few people who shoot over there labs. Both Dogs will do each other's jobs at the end of the day. A Spaniel will be better at fitting in tighter cover though and a Lab will be steadier and better off if your fowling or something like that! In open ground on rough shooting I dont see the lab as a disadvantage. If your going beating however some of the cover is very thick n better suited for a spaniel. I have recently started proper training and plan to be picking up next season hopefully Also again If you go ESS, get a bitch! There not as nuts as I have seen
  13. Is it just me or is he looking quite chubby ? :o
  14. Bloke I know has got a 5month springer. I dont see him ever being able to train it as hes a first time gundog owner and the thing wont sit still for a minute. At 5 months my Lab was sitting and staying and more :o I fancy a springer in the future though But labs are pretty easy to train lol
  15. If its a 1st dog and your alone in the training then definately a Lab

    that looks soooo damn funny
  17. Na I avoided the hassle of them asking for me to have DSC level 1. Wonder if they will ask me to get it?
  18. Why wont the Mrs have a lab mate ? They are really good family and gun dogs
  19. Definately lab or a springer I had a Lab first. I wanted a springer to go beating but my mum said there too nuts lol so I got a Lab. I have trained her very amatuerly so far and without any help could train her enough to beat well on my local shoot, and she will put up wild birds so I could probally shoot over her. Luckily the breeder I had her from field trials labs so is helping me train her ever more Got her retrieving well and she is looking to make a bloody good dog I have also seen some springers that are brilliant workers. Friend of mine has a pup and it looks like it will turn out to be a stunner, you cant go wrong with one of the 2 for the shooting you have described
  20. Make a wood burner from an old gas bottle or something also smells good
  21. Right well in that case would you need to send me a letter saying I have book into to stalk so I can get deer added to my ticket or something ?
  22. There between £40-£60 a pannel mate. + £25 delivery n £5 for each additional pannel If I remember rightly. I bought mine from a mate who finished with his Mrs and had the kennel at her rents house so I had 3 pannels and a massive dog house for £120 + got a mate to bring them over my house in his truck
