  1. How do you get a bulged chamber in normal use? If I understand what you are saying the pinch point so to speak would be further down the chamber where it could be bulged and the fired cartridge expands there and it is not the brass head that is the sticking point?
  2. The chamber is clean and I gave it a fair scrub with the bronze ? Jaggy think in the cleaning kit!
  3. I have recently bought an AYA no 3 mag. When trying to remove a fired cartridge from the right barrel it is very tight and hard to pull out. The extractor lifts it fine but it’s still a struggle to pull it out, doesn’t matter if it is high or low brass shells. can this be fixed by polishing the first 10mm or so of the chamber? Is there another fix? If I polish it I have a drill but what bit do I use? cheers flipper
  4. Took my aya no3 mag out today, gamebore no1 36grm hp steel 3 pinks and a grey. They will handle hip steel fine. However, the previous 8 pinks of this season were all shot with an aya yeoman 2.75 inch chamber choked quarter and full using eley vip steel eco wad 32 gram no 3. Shot loads of steel through the yeoman. To be honest I think the 32grm no 3 killed better than the 36 gram no 1 s. if you are not happy using hip steel through your gun then the eley vip steel 32 gram no 3 will still cover you for geese at sensible ranges.
  5. A daft question maybe but............ cleaning any pump or auto I would wrack it back and run a bore snake through the barrel. can you do this with a browning bps as it is bottom feed and not side feed or do you need to take the barrel off to clean it? cheers flipper
  6. Don’t get many pigeons up our way but two of us did manage 20 on rape stubble and it was shot the next day and the guy got 26 so in some circumstances they will come back to the field the next day.
  7. Still waiting for Cascamite to arrive so ended up using PVA. Its a bit of a rough repair but seems to have worked. Managed 13 pigeons today which is good going up here so can't complain. Dale at ASI was very good. If I had wanted to get a brand new foreand then that's £800 plus!!!!! so another gun would have been a cheaper option! Cheers for all the help.
  8. Gorilla grip. One part has to be damp is that pu?
  9. Toooooo late! Used gorilla glue before everyone said do not. Right balls up. Managed to undo the glue as not fully set so now waiting for cascamite. ☹️
  10. Stupidly I have dropped the beavertail forend of my AYA and knocked a splinter of wood off the end. I am currently trying a glue repair but if this fails what are my options? Can a new one be made? Can one from another gun be fettled to fit? Help needed!!!! Cheers Flipper
  11. Ditchman, if you are right the question is why would they eat that when there is plenty of barley wheat and rape seed to eat. Would seem a strange choice of diet?
  12. I was expecting a deep fried mars bar reply from at least some one😀
  13. Shot this pigeon today in the North of Scotland. It had access to barley, wheat and rape but it’s crop was full of this. Never seen this before and can’t work out what it is? Any ideas? It’s like the stalk of a plant all chopped into 1 inch lengths.
  14. Hi Ross, have you been up and down the a9 under the average speed cameras at more than 50 ish?
  15. Is the L200 classed as a LGV and subject to 50mph speed limit on A roads? Are all pick ups in the same position? Cheers Mark
  16. It is indeed interesting that other organisations can offer legal expenses insurance eg CPSA and CCC3. However what we don't know is how often or how much they paid out on these policies? Easy to take some ones money for legal expenses if at the end of the year you haven't paid out for a case or only a handful? Just a thought.
  17. Hi Connor, Look i I have always been and still am pro basc although you sure are making my job harder! I am the secretary of a wildfowling club that at the moment is basc affiliated and has been for decades. I now have emails from members demanding we part from basc over this. So at the moment that’s 80 plus membership fees that will go and my club can’t be the only one where members feel the same? You seem to be shooting yourselves in the foot here. Could cover be reinstated please? Could it be made an optional extra for those prepared to pay? Help me help you here! cheers flipper
  18. I have never drilled a field before but with all the modern technology etc how did the tractor driver get a result like this with several missed passes?
  19. It’s full in one barrel and the previous owner had the other barrel opened up to about quarter. The full barrel patterns any steel I have tested really well. The other opened barrel gives patchy patterns. I would much have preferred that it had not been opened up! In fact I would take full and full any day. If you are looking for info to help make a decision on your own gun my advice is leave the chokes alone, load it with steel and have some fun! Shot plenty of gamebore no 4 steel through mine plus at least a box of no 2 steel, hevi shot 4 and 5 all with no harm to the gun or me!
  20. It was at the back of the engine beneath the starter motor. Watched a few you tube vids as u recommended. One guy did it from the top of the motor blind so to speak. Other did it from underneath so he could see it. I jacked it up and rested it on a large chunk of tree and crawled in under to do it. Not much space. The Hardest part was actually pulling the old one out after releasing the bolt. It had been there 15 years and wasn’t keen to move with out a screw driver to lever loosen it up. Job done though!
  21. Well put a new crank sensor, pain in the butt that job, but all seems to be running sweet😀
  22. I have an old Nissan Almere tino and about 5000 miles ago while in 2 nd gear at low speed it cut out and the engine management light came on. Got a code reader and it said crankshaft sensor fault. Cleared it and it all ran fine until today when at 70 mph it did the same thing. Cleared it and all is fine again. It has done 134000 and had regular oil changes. No rattles from the engine. Is it the sensor or is the cam chain likely to be end of life and stretched? If the latter it’s done for but I rather like it😀
  23. Gentlemen, thank you for the education and advice😃 Off it will remain! cheers Mark
  24. The part in question fell of my rusty Nissan Almera Tino today🤔 it it is a piece of metal that sits on the inner side of the rear disc brake and seems to be some sort of cover over the inside of the disc? The brakes seem to work fine with it gone but what does this “ disc cover” do and do I need to replace it? cheers mark
  25. Shot a crow on Saturday so thought what the heck, better try it! I flash fried a breast and cut a couple of thin slices off. It tasted very nice, not as strong as pigeon but very tasty. However, I don't think I will be eating a pile of them yet as although the taste was fine I could not for the life of me get the image of a stinky crow out of my mind as I ate it! As others have said, I am sure some have eaten it in the past in game pies and stews and not even known it was crow. Give it a try! Cheers Flipper
