  1. I am after some .20 cal barrels for experimental purposes, need to be approx 16mm diameter and at least 300mm long. Something off a Rapid 7 would be ideal or WHY. PM me if you can help
  2. The only difference now is the spring and piston weights/spring guides, on the earlier models it had a standard piston and a longer stroke FAC one but now the longer stroke one with the shorter cocking rod that allows the piston to move back further and increase swept volume of the cylinder is fitted to all and power adjusted by what spring and piston weights/spring guides are fitted.
  3. In your dreams Mate. It's already sold!
  4. JSR Laser rangefinder, only 6 weeks old and only been used to set up a couple of scopes at my shoot. Comes with original invoice for guarantee purposes. I have found the one that I originally wanted at a price I can stomach now so will sell this one to contribute to that. £75 delivered
  5. I cut my barrel down before fitting the silencer so the gun still balances nicely and looks right too.
  6. I own both and it is a toss up as to which is better. The 99s seems to benefit from a shorter piston stroke and will run at a comfortable smooth 11FPE. It isn't as cut and dried as it seems and the 99s is bloody good value as a no nonsense sporter. HTH Andy
  7. Not going by their pathetic defense of our sport after Barnardo's made a video portraying us as bloodthirsty lunatics.
  8. Has the barrel been drilled like the real thing, if so has it been reproofed? Cheers Andy
  9. Ive never really understood exactly what you are buying with those. Is it just a spinning disc and if so what keeps it in the air?
  10. I have a 20g and .410 hushpower, the 20g is far more versatile but that double looks clumsy as hell to me. Wouldn't sell my single though.
  11. I recently bought a Ure-a-duck decoy off ebay, it comes from the states, is battery powered and now I see no reason to even own a pigeon magnet. It's so life like I have pigeons landing next to it unlike a magnet where the pigeons get so close then spook and veer away. Plus it's a cinch to carry. I have modified mine so its remote control as it doesn't have to be flapping all the time. Google ure-a-duck decoys and have a look. ATB Andy
  12. Can you give a bit more detail on how you made them, Pics would be good. Cheers Andy
  13. 20G is the ideal compromise between .410 and 12g IMO, most clay clubs sell 20g subsonics for beginners and you can still use quite a heavy cartridge for when needs must. ATB Andy
  14. I had another try today and though it was very quiet it seemed to me that the faster the magnet rotates the faster it pulls the pigeons in but equally the more spooked they get once on top of it, whereas if it is made to go really slowly they kind of just drift away from it, ie, they seem to feel less threatened by it, but also less attracted. Mmmmmmmmmmm. Unless you know different ATB Andy
  15. Northants, about a month in total. There is absolutely no reason for them to take any longer, they should be up to speed with demand, IMO.
  16. Tried my home made magnet with home made decoys on it today. definitely seemed to pull the pigeons in but once they get on top of it they seem to realise it isn't what they thought and they veer off whereas previously without it the pigeons would often try and land. Nothing to compare it to, so is this normal? ATB Andy
  17. I think we are talking sporting shooting and culling, not humane dispatch !. Within normal shotgun ranges whats the problem
  18. Couldn't you use buckshot, SG, SSG or suchlike? These can be used on a normal shotgun certificate and I would imagine they would have a reasonable range. ATB Sitsinhedges
  19. Friend of mine cast and loaded his own thumb (lead poured into a polyfilla mould) kicked like a mule, fookin mental. He's dead now but from drinking rather than a burst barrel.
  20. Best bet is a good used Pedretti Hushpower with 28" total barrel length, superior build quality and you wont lose much if you sell it on. I paid £200 for mine and it's a cracker. ATB Andy
  21. Well you might have showed us a picture
  22. I read on the S+G review that the 12g has 5 pairs of half inch diameter ports drilled into the barrel, is this true, are they really that big? I own the .410 version and there are 5 pairs of 4mm ports. What size ports would the 20g version have BTW the Pedretti .410 version is a really nice gun at 28" total of barrel, shame they are changing them for a loooooong 37" Baikal now. ATB
  23. I've got a few questions I would like to ask about the spec. Thanks in advance
  24. What are you making your baffles and tube out of? Cheers
  25. If the moderator doesen't go into orbit ..... the barrel could blow apart.... or both ! Don't think it's worth a go ..... do you? Dave Well the worst case scenario is to buy a ready made one from Hushpower for £55
