  1. It's the sliding parts around the mag tube, they seem slightly different to the Hatsan file, probably an old model
  2. I've seen the manual but it isn't clear enough to assemble this blind which is what I am having to do. Cheers
  3. Been given a Hatsan Escort in bits and need a bit of a guide to putting it all back together. The trigger etc is already in but the mag tube, forend and firing block etc aren't. I would appreciate a link to a guide, can't find anything on youtube that tells me what I need to know. Cheers
  4. Is it neoprene and if so how much and where from
  5. I have a second hand one that is totally reliable and points where I am looking comes up a treat, more than much more expensive guns I have tried (Urika, Synergy etc). I was looking to buy a brand new one of the same type but reading all these tests it seems that unless I spend around £1500 or so on a silver Pigeon or suchlike then I am buying something that is only considered mediocre. I tried a silver pig and it didn't feel half as nice to mount. A new Lanber comes with a 5yr guarantee so what's the problem? What exactly is wrong with the Lanbers and what will I be missing out on by not moving up to something supposedly better (read far more expensive).
  6. The £1.99 large lattice one from Morrisons deli counter. Unfortunately I have to eat them all myself cos the other half doesn't like pork :look:
  7. Been given a bag of 12g 42gram 5s What would be a good way to use them up I was thinking maybe some of those high pigeons coming in to roost that I usually wouldn't waste a cartridge on, with skeet choke Hope they don't kick too much
  8. What makes interesting watching Did you mean to add a link or something
  9. I find they tend to shoot low, try shooting at a large box or suchlike before you start so you know where the shot is going
  10. What is the best price these guns were going for new 5 Yrs ago
  11. My clay shooting partner uses a Urika and I hate it, it just doesn't feel or mount right for me whereas an M2 feels great. I haven't had the opportunity to actually fire an M2 yet though but it's not going to be any worse than my o/u recoil wise is it and that is only mild with clay loads. I am currently staggered at how much we have to spend to buy something regarded as decent and the Benelli seems actually quite cheap compared to a lot of the competition at £1050.
  12. The Sportsman is selling them new for £23.99 at the moment no point buying second hand at that price
  13. There isn't a pair of digital calipers in existence than don't measure down to 0.01, there wouldn't be any point. I own several cheap sets from arceurotrade.co.uk and all my machines have them fitted on the ways and none of them have been anything but 100% reliable for years now. I do keep spare ones but have never needed to break them out
  14. Just buy a cheap set of calipers from Maplin or suchlike for a tenner, they are all far more accurate than we are and all more than good enough. Anyone who tells you the dear ones are better is just feeling foolish for wasting all that money and even Mitutoyo are open to user error. Scales are probably more important but I got mine off ebay hand they have been fine.
  15. Lift your head up to compensate, so your looking down to where the point of impact is.
  16. You don't, but showing a picture of this unfortunate animal is only going to give antis the ammunition they need to stop you enjoying your sport at all. A bit of discretion doesn't hurt sometimes and we can still enjoy all the other pics
  17. The 'graphic' photo does our sport no favours and would be better off deleted in my opinion
  18. About 9 or 10 yrs I think, but in good condition from someone who looks after his kit. If I didn't have a thing for fully moderated 20bores it would be the only gun I really need I bet it cost about £450 new back then so hasn't depreciated that much and will always be easy to move on
  19. I use a Lanber sporting deluxe that I bought second hand for £300 and I can't see why I should ever need any more than this. It comes up a treat and if you point it at the right piece of sky the clay breaks I do quite fancy a nice shiny new one though, knowing that it has all those years ahead of it
  20. was I My only criteria is that the .410 isn't man enough for realistic general shooting whereas a 20g with its 24 and 28g loads is, and 20s tend to be a bit lighter than 12s which helps when a moderator is added to the weight Its much easier to carry a number of the far smaller 20g cartridges too :(
  21. Why not buy the 30g 5s already mentioned or load your own like I do
  22. If you can buy exactly what you want then it probably isn't. It can be quite enjoyable to shoot something with cartridges you have loaded yourself though and it makes unusual loads viable such as my 20g fibre wadded 28gram subsonics in no5 or 6 shot.
  23. A 20g Husher is a far more versatile beast
  24. I don't know but I haven't got two of them
