  1. Personally I've never really like her and I couldn't quite put my finger on it until I saw this - http://metro.co.uk/2015/04/14/is-this-the-best-private-eye-celebrity-lookalike-ever-5149633/
  2. I've not read all the replies so I may repeating what's being said already but this is how I see it. The Remainers believe in Democracy when it goes their way. So far, all I have seen from those that voted remain is a tirade of vitriol against those who voted Leave. I have stood by and allowed them to have their rant but it's starting to wear thin. They want another bite of the cherry because they firmly believe that we who voted Leave did so purely based on the issue of immigration, because we are al racists and bigots. I voted leave purely and simple because I saw no argument from remain that convinced me we had a future in the EU. All I asked was for 3 solid reasons that we should remain and they were unable to do this. Couple that with the fact that the EU has a stagnated economy, is run by unelected bureaucrats who cannot be held accountable, has never had their accounts signed off and has the highest percentage of unemployment compared to those non-EU countries that have a growing economy and GDP, it was a bit of a foregone conclusion. Oh, and there was also the small issue of uncontrolled immigration. Immigration is an excellent thing if it is managed properly. To have unrestricted movement is absolute madness. It has nothing to do with the colour of a persons skin or which God they worship but it has everything to do with being able to manage your Country's infrastructure where health, housing and education are concerned.
  3. Not being a gambling man I have no idea whether they are good or bad and for which way so would someone please spell it out for a lay person.
  4. But that's my point. Too many spoiled/tampered ballots would raise suspicions, so who checks them?
  5. Actually, that's a valid point. Why do they put pencils instead of pens? That does seem a tad strange. And what happens to the ballot papers? Who checks them for tampering?
  6. Mrs H & I had to wait to cast our votes this morning. Car park was very busy with a steady flow coming and going. The reason we had to wait was because the muppet in front of us didn't bring his polling card and, after much faffing by the admin, finally deduced he was at the wrong polling station. What a plonker. Was probably voting 'IN' anyway.
  7. Two outs from Mrs H and myself. I was sure to press hard with the pencil so the dirty funkers can't 'adjust' it
  8. Mrs H has a landmark birthday coming up. Next Monday to be exact. I had planned on getting her a few 'experiences' like abseiling (she totally afraid of heights), Hovercraft experience, go-karting and Air-kix. Turns out she wants to go to New York Christmas shopping :-( I was looking forward to doing all those things with her but shopping...! In New York...! At Christmas...! I'm not the world's most enthusiatic flyer either so going trans-atlantic does really rock my boat. All this came about when we had a bit of barney over the weekend. Ok, she did. I was reticent throughout. I think that irked her more than anything. I've just had a look online. To say I was surprised by the prices would be an understatement. Whilst eating my paleo lunch, I had cause to clear a piece of lettuce from my nasal passage. Not entirely sure how or why that seemed to go up the wrong way, or that you need to know that, but there it is (note to self, must chew more before swallowing). Booking.yeah do the hotels but not the flights from what I can tell. Travelsupermarket seem to specialise in cheap packages, most of which don't seem to be within walking distance of the shops. I may leave her to the shopping and sneak off to a museum or three, assuming I go. If I go I may have to take some Sudafed or Actifed with me. They totally zone me out. I kid you not, it will be like trying to get B.A. Baracus on plane otherwise. So, that aside. Any suggestions of operators/agents/websites for a New York Christmas break would be gratefully received. Probably looking at 3 nights, possibly 4 if it doesn't inflate the price too drastically.
  9. Hey guys, I've just been doing a bit of research in to how I can boost my mobile wifi signal in my new (temporary) office. I'm currently renting a self store unit and, in case you didn't know, they are mainly constructed out of sheet metal which is fine if you don't want to be disturbed as it acts like a massive Faraday cage so totally rubbish for getting a mobile signal let alone anything close to G4. As a consequence, I have thought about constructing my own little booster arial/antenna. It turns out it may not just be as simple as drilling a small hole in the side of the unit and attaching a wire to it, although that's what it amounts to in essence. I was kind of hoping to use the side of building, or as much of it as possible, as the catchment for the signal. I've drill a hole through and can see there is building opposite so will most probably need to erect a pole or something instead. The signal out the front is fairly good, but I'm right up the back where there is nothing. I was going to buy an antenna for my Huawei R216 but don't think it will be man enough to pull in the signal. Any ideas or suggestions welcomed as always. Doc
  10. Hi guys, Back on this one again I'm afraid. Unfortunately Junglebert fell off the radar so I can only assume that he is unable to assist on this matter for some reason, which was a shame as he seemed to know his stuff. I've had a bit of look at Audacity and have to confess it would need someone who understands the different frequencies to work it properly but it isn't as straightforward as loading it and clicking here and there, or maybe it is but I'm not familiar enough with it to use it proficiently. I'm not looking for a freebie, or should I say the person I'm helping isn't, so if you know of someone that can help and they want a bit of cash (who doesn't?) I'd sincerely appreciate a nod in the right direction.
  11. Thanks guys. The videos are mp4 and the voice recording is m4a. I hope that helps. If you pm me with email address I'll send you a drop box link. Many thanks.
  12. I'm trying to help a friend with something. She has a voice and video recordings that have a lot of noise on them which needs dropping back and the voices she wants to hear brought up. I said I would ask those that know so I would sincerely appreciate any help as to software or individuals that know how to do that. Thanks, as always Doc
  13. A friend of mine bought one off interweb when he had chickens a few years back. Quite a good little device, just works on daylight, through a photocell of some kind I would imagine. It worked well enough in so much as the chickens would put themselves to bed and the door would shut shortly thereafter. The only con... the foxes learned that humans weren't always about and so one evening, when we went up his local for a couple of pints, we got back 2 hours later to find absolute ruddy carnage. Poxy fox had gotten in to the hen house, after negotiating 6' fence topped off with barbed wire with an electric fence the other side of it so it would have been zapped several times as it tried to make its way through. Still, that's another story. The auto coup door did work fine, just let the fox in before it shut.
  14. I'm just wondering which media supplier folk on here use. I use Virgin and to be honest, they are pretty dire. There router keeps freezing up and they keep wanting to go through the settings. OK, I have called them about it in a year or so but it's only because I find them very stressful to deal with and I end up getting so wound up with them. I called them today and told them if they don't sort it I'm going to walk. Their answer - "I need you to go in to your account so we can change the settings". My response - "Are you even listening to me? I've already told you that that doesn't do jack!". And I get to pay them about £60 a.month for the please of having to reboot my router 2 or 3 times a week (I kid you not). I have one if those smart TV'S so we tend to watch catch up through that as the Tivo box takes too long to get its rear end in to gear. We only use the landline for the alarm to dial out on and don't make any calls from it. I would like to use Plus net but I don't think they do TV. Will check their site shortly. Who do you use and do you rate them or slate them?
  15. I have to confess that when I read this morning on the Web that he had died I didn't really feel much about him one way or the other. That sounds a terrible thing to say I know but what I mean is that I feel his music didn't really have much bearing on my life. As the day wore on, and more and more of his songs were played on Radio 2, I found myself thinking 'oh yeah, I like this one'. Now, after watching 'David Bowie: Starman' on Ch4 I realise just how his music had touched people, myself included. I seem to recall hearing that he was a big advocater of the Web, singing its praises long before broadband came in to being but not much about that seems to have been mentioned. Rest in Peace Mr Bowie. You may have departed this mortal coil but your legacy will continue to influence many in the years to come.
  16. Have PM'd you the link. Unable to paste it in this window due to technical issues between the site and the browser

    Alcohol

I can take or leave drink now, and moreover tend to leave it. I do have a tipple every so often but if I feel I'm not enjoying it then I will pour it down the sink. I used to drink quite heavily but December 28th 2013 I over did it a tad and felt like **** for three days. I decided then that I didn't need to be feeling like that and so didn't touch a drop until about Easter 2015. As said previsouly, everything in modertion. I'm staying off it now until the end of Lent, mainly because I'm focusing on my strength and conditioning program for a good three months so it doesn't have a place in it. Even then I may not touch it straight off.
  18. Yesterday, in the office, I was gathering cheques to pay in to the bank. The usual thing is that I scan them and send them to the accountants so they can who has paid and for which job numbers. As I went to the shortcut on my desk top for the HP All in one jobbie that I have, I noticed that the usual icon had been replaced by a what looked like a blank piece of paper. 'That's odd', I thought, but still clincked on it. Nothing. Clicked again and waited. Nothing. Uninstalled the software and re-installed it, thinking that if there was glitch then this should clear it. Nothing. Unistalled it and re-installed again, just to be sure. Same issue. Tried a scan and something wasn't right. So looked on HP's website for answers. Turned to live chat with 'Stephanie'. She said she'll get someone in tech to phone me. A few minutes later the phone rings. An Indian guy on the end of the phone says I've been talking to Stephanie and asks me to explain it. He then wants to link up to my desktop. I'm a tad suspicious for a moment but then remember it was 'Stephanie' who said she would get someone to call me and it was all through their website, so on reflection of that I agree. We link up and he askes me to enter my name, email and phone number in to the little window. I ask him why. He says 'In case we get cut off'. 'Why would we get cut off?' 'Ok, thanks' he says and ends the session. Meanwhile, I've had another call come in and have been left a message by David (another Indian guy and obviously a nice local name) asking me to call back on the freefone number. So I call David. He goes through the same motions as the first guy, who's name I didn't get. David connects to my machine and does a bit of tweaking and clicking here and there. 'There are 596 corrupt files', he says and I look on the screen and see a list of alarming looking symbols with information that means little or nothing to me. 'How have they become corrupt?' I ask. 'You see this entry here...' he waves the pointer and I confirm. 'It's probably someone trying to hack in to your machine. We can fix this for you though', he kindly offers. 'How much?' I ask. '£199', he says. I thank him and decline his generous offer. In the meantime I look over this list he populated and see that all the entries date back to December 28th. My machine needed to do some updates, one of which was a Windows update. I set my Internet protection to do a full system scan and ****** off out to do some bits and pieces, knowing it will take a good 4 or 5 hours or so. In the meantime I tell the guys down at one of my suppliers about this and they say just download a free version cleaner (ADW I think it was). I get back about 8pm and check the scan. Nothing to report. I look for a cleaner. It has one so I use it and then reinstall the printer software. Still no change. I look online for HP printer problems following a Windows software update and low and behold I find a forum and there is a link which is followed by ome very happy members who have experienced the same problem. I clink the link and follow the instructions and, Hey presto!, my printer software is back to what it was. I can't believe that a company like HP would try and scank their usuers out of a couple of hundred quid a time to sort this when it's naff all to do with them or their software and a rememdy is freely available from Microsoft. Bunch of scammers!
  19. As the title says really. I don't really get why the Yanks make all this fuss over protecting a guy who's only in power for one or two terms at most. Can anyone expalin to me why this is the case. I'm sure I'm just ignorant of the fact so an insight or education may be useful, or not, which ever the case may prevail. The question came about after watching Bear Grylls with Obama. Ok, if it was Prince Harry or someone of that ilk then it goes without saying, as they are schooled from a young age as to what is expected of them, but someone who potentially has the same background as any other average Joe...? I just don't get it. Seems like they are doing it just to make a point, which I don't quite get either.
  20. I think in the later models, like the Galaxy class ships, they come as standard. I was watching the Star Trek film the other night and the captain asked Sulu if the parking brake was still on, so it must be so.
  21. They do seem seem to have been rather close but then it is easy to jump to the wrong conclusion. I thought Kellie's little speech about what she thought of her dance partner,Kevin, was just such a lovely thing to say but then I think she she is lovely inside and out. Racing snake? Natalie may be many things but skin and bone she ain't. Nor is that new bird who was partnered with that boxer guy, Ogogo? And there is also that very naughty little one who has been rumoured to jump in the sack with virtually every partner she's had. Can't remember her name but blonde and VERY shapely.
  22. I have to insert them manually. I mean by posting the word in between two : If I select from the list then for some reason the page won't post it. It either freezes or comes up with a message saying something or other isn't supported. When I go to quote someone, it drops me down to the text box but no cursor and I have to refresh the page to get it back :-(
  23. Good for you AVB It's something to be proud of, an achievement. As I've always maintained, who's the more sad, the guy who has the hobby or interest or those who pursue them to take the rise out of them for it? It's each to their own in my book and if anyone wants to take the **** then they clearly in need of a life themselves. Let's face it, I doubt there's a woman alive that doesn't find it attractive if a guy can dance properly. Felly100, I think you're on thin ice there fella, if you are attracted to those mad cap bunny boiler types
  24. I can't believe this subject hasn't been mentioned as yet. I'm probably going to get shouted down by all the 'in the closet' macho types but I have to say that any red blooded guy should feel comfortable in his own skin at watching this. I, for one, think it's great. I mean, what's not to love? Especially when you have the likes of Natalie Lowe dressed in next to nothing and showing off her lovely figure. And there are plenty of others on there too. The professionals aside, I'm putting my money on Kellie Bright to win it. I don't know what it is but there's something about her. Katie Derham will be out next as she just doesn't quite cut it the same as the others but any of them will be worthy of winning it. Ok, let the barracking begin
