If its for a clay trap button box you would be better with 3183Y,this is PVC flex rather than T and E or Twin and Earth cable which has solid conductors, the cable will only be switching a relay when you push the button so will be very little current draw, 1mm 3183Y is fine for this atb handy

Its the csa ( cross sectional area ) of each core,Screwfix are usually fair on cable unless you have a contact with an account at a local wholesalers, atb handy

Hi S&M's calculations are spot on but you will probably suffer nuisance blowing with a 10A fuse due to the high inrush of current with a cold lamp,15A would be a better choice. atb handy

Hi have not dabbled with aftermarket bits have a look and see what Britparts and Freelander Spares UK have to offer for standard parts, I take it you are on the standard 16 inch alloys I am running General Grabber AT2 215/65/16 which give good grip but are a touch noisy on the road and a bit of a handful in car parks. the wifes Mk1 is on Pirelli Scorpions which are much nicer on the motorway and easier to park atb handy

Prop shaft centre bearings can be a pain, sounded like the problem was on the front nearside but turned out to be the front centre bearing, changed that and eighteen months later the rear started to rattle and squeak,no problem to trace this time though! New bearings £21.50 each from Brit Parts, dropping the propshaft complete with viscous coupling outside on the road last Jan in the snow was like wrestling a snake but needed the vehicle so no choice, moral of the story is if one bearing has gone replace the pair.......... atb handy

Anyone that has not visited Richardsons and experienced the volume of gun parts and shooting related bits and bobs in the shop has missed a real treat, hope H and S has not caught up with them! Lived in Norfolk and ran a small clay shoot so used to visit Jimmy and Beryl for clays and cartridges regularly, hope that they are both enjoying retirement atb handy

Do I need to put a resistor onto 12v led lights?
handy4454 replied to yankeedoodlepigeon's topic in Off Topic
Hi Ydp your lights need to be wired in parallel as they have drivers built in,thats the reason they will not work in series, they are not polarity concious so will work with the leads connected either way round but they must be connected to 12 volts atb handy -

A few years ago I ran into trouble getting my money in,I was owed several thousands of pounds and as a subcontractor could not pay off my monthly accounts for materials, the red reminders and threats of account closure started so my only chance of continuing work was to contact the firms that I owed and work out a plan to repay, all but one company accepted this and allowed me to to use my accounts to work my way out of trouble, talk to the people involved and form a realistic plan,do it soon chap and all the best handy
