  1. No such thing as a bad day, out with the gun. It always beats the best day at work.
  2. I have a pair of neoprine lined Aigle. I've had these for 7 years and wear them whenever the weather dictates. I would most certainly buy another pair of Aigle when the old ones decide to give up the ghost. Hope this helps.
  3. Glad you enjoyed your day out. Its not the size of the bag that counts. Its the smile that it puts on your face.
  4. Oh well, thats got that part sussed. Now how do you catch that pigeon again??? LOL
  5. Dave, Looked over the farm this lunchtime and I'm going back after I've typed this. Hoping for some good shooting over the next couple of weeks. Norfolk
  6. How is it NASA can hit a comet thats more than 250,000.000 miles away and I can miss a pigeon at 30 yards?
  7. Topgunners, Your right, they are back with a vengence. Shooting particulaly well on laid barley and peas here in Kenilworth.
  8. I wouldn't use anything else in a hide. It cycles anything. I never had it jam once. I've put a few shells throught it over the last couple of years and would not ever let this one go. Once you've got one you :( will be hooked.
  9. Hi, You can get reusable zip ties from most of the big DIY chains. They are absolutly great for fixing nets onto poles on very windy day's. As they are reusable they last a long time. Hope this helps.
  10. Try ebay.com. I find it cheaper buying from the States than in UK. Never had any problems with delivery. Bought a "Pop up" Hay Bale from US, half the price of UK and only 5 days for delivery.
  11. I use a leather "double belt" which holds 49 cartridges. I was a fat b*st*rd, now on a strict diet of food. Wouldn't be without the belt especially if out in the hide. Use a synthetic A391 if on pigeons so not worried about the stock. :(
  12. Humbrol modelling paint works well for me.
  13. Estates Manager for most of the week. Pigeon worrier for the rest.
  14. If you fancy a divorce, then do what I did. Empty all of her shoes out of the wardrobe, chuck them in the loft, leaving just one black pair and one brown. Then hey presto, a whole wardrobe all for your cartridges. Expensive but worth it. Now where did she keep the iron??
  15. Hey Topgunner, I shoot near Kenilworth and I've also had an experience with a Buzzard. This one actually plucked and de-breasted a "dead decoy" 30 yards out from my hide. Lovley sight though, and didn't put the birds off for long.
  16. Hey folks, What are your pigeons eating at this time of year? I only ask as I was out shooting a roosting area in the midlands the other evening. All the birds had their crops full of "Ivy" berries. Has anyone else found this or is this just a regional thing??
  17. There is so much great info being posted by some great people on this site. If you shoot with any buddies, then club together and get a video or DVD from your local sporting supplier. Then you'll be able to see how others approach the very debatable subject.
  18. I've never gone wrong with Ely Hawks pigeon 6 1/2's. They do the job well.
  19. I love using my AL/391 on when shooting alone ( nasty things, those ejecting cases). If sharing a hide then its my Browning GTS. Never forgetting that a bad day on the pigeon beats a good day at the office.
  20. Bore snakes are great, but I take the point about ejectors ect. needing a clean. Bore snakes can be often found on ebay at great prices. At least thats where I bought my three.
  21. I use one of the seat covers you get from any sporting stadium. Although I've seen some with Tony Blairs face on. That would be kind of poetic. I always said he should kiss my a*se.
