  1. I’m struggling to see the problem here? I had to have an annual medical examination for a race car licence. Any step that’s made to help prevent a nutter getting a gun can only be a good thing for us in the future. In the past, when they’ve slipped through the net, it’s only ended badly for us. So I am very happy that all medical information is accessed. As for the cost, why should doctors do it free of charge? Their time, overheads etc. £10 a year isn’t exactly a life changing sum of money. All those who think it’s a smart move not to pay, may just find, as others have, their doctor will no longer provide the service.
  2. You are so behind the game Mice!😂 Been on the radio for the last 4 weeks......”Have you lost investments or monies in your pension due to COVID-19? if so, you may have a claim” Really, investments down as the world goes into financial decline? Who would have thought!!😂😂
  3. This is a classic example of us needing BASC to be on it and advise with speed.
  4. My BASC renewal is sitting on the desk. For many reasons along with yours, I am looking at alternatives.
  5. I understand your comment, and did consider this. However, in the context of the bulletin it is not "occupied".The remainder of the bulletin is a clear warning.
  6. I wouldn't be to fast to assume we can all go shooting anytime soon. I live in Surrey, the farm I shoot over is in Hampshire, 20 mins away. It has been suggested on various media platforms, that Hampshire police were taking a hard line with the possible revocation of licenses for people going out shooting. See alert bulletin here: https://www.hampshirealert.co.uk/da/318713/Essential_business_for_firearm_and_shotgun_holders.html Note the emphasis on being employed, (definition-paid). So having received a specific letter of authorisation from my farmer, peas in, Maize drilled, and mindful of the differing Police forces take on this, I emailed the Hants firearms dept on Saturday 11th May, for their attention this week, to ask if I fulfilled the criteria, and not put my license at risk. At 06.05 this morning, I had their reply. Dear Mr XXXXX Please see the guidance set out by BASC. https://basc.org.uk/basc-updates-coronavirus-pest-control-advice/ Obviously vermin control should only be taking place if it is essential in preventing crop damage or harm to livestock. You need to be able to evidence that this activity is essential. Unless you are employed as a pest/vermin controller or game keeper or you are shooting on your own land and can evidence that it is essential then we suggest that you should refrain from any vermin control at this time. As the guidance stands travel should only be for essential things such as work where you can't work from home, food shopping and for exercise. 7. Absolutely agree with every word, thats exactly the stark truth of the situation. Hence inverted commas in first paragraph of Rewulfs post.
  8. We all have different views of course, but imho, CV is not going to be eradicated. Hypothetically, if we had completely isolated the country, somehow, it would have appeared as soon as we opened up. The current thinking is that it will circulate the globe for the next 5 years. IMHO, the looming threat, is the annual flu appearance towards the end of the year. If a couple more waves are "allowed" to happen, it might lessen the numbers who contract both. The annual flu virus causes mortalities on its own, contracting that as well as CV would me catastrophic. I would imagine or hope that the procurement and strategist experts have already put in place, the need for vaccines as for sure, there will be a global shortage. Its highly likely that the Nightingale and other such facilities will be needed November/December/January to cope with this.
  9. Thank you Nevb for taking the time to have a look and measure. Its looking increasingly like a normal situation. I would be interested in crawling under a new one to see what thats like!!! Thanks again to Scutt and Nevb.
  10. Thanks Scutt, mines about the same. Atb T33
  11. Bit of an update on my previous thread on front diff issue. Front left side half shaft has quite a lot of play in it where it enters the diff. I thought it was the cv joint gone, so had it replaced. Thats when it became apparent it wasn't the shaft but the inner guts of the diff. There are no issues, noises, whining etc, just what I would regard as an unacceptable amount of free play. Ive had 5 or so Hilux's and haven't had any cause to notice this before, so it might have been common with all of them. It seems, on research, that it is poorly machined spider gears in the diff that slop about and an inadequate needle roller bearing supporting the drive shaft. The yanks have a similar vehicle, called the Tacoma, and theres lots on the tube about it, but just can't find any English versions, i.e. Hilux or other 4wd Toyota. See video's below. first is diff stripped, 2nd is East Coast gears solution to the bush, 3rd is A tacoma where the play can be seen in situ. My question is, would any of the PW members that have a Hilux be kind enough to see if they have similar free play, passenger side (Obviously drivers on a left hooker as in the States). I'm trying to establish if its the norm, and it might just help us all out if we know we have the same. For info, mines a MK6 2014, 49k on the clock, and easy life, stock ride height not modified. Thanks Chaps.

    Trump..Wuhan

So Donald alleges he has proof the virus started in a lab in Wuhan.......this will be interesting!
  13. I've been of the same opinion, and expressed in conversations with friends since the the outbreak in Wuhan. Clearly it was huge. It appears that no one (Governments) seemed to take on board, the Chinese hurriedly building two new hospitals. They knew what they had there, the rest of the world, especially us, were caught sleeping. It was totally naive to think it wasn't serious and would be contained in Wuhan. There was a enacted research commissioned by the Government here to in 2016, to identify if we were prepared for such a pandemic, and to identify what was needed to prepare for such an event. Huge inadequacies were identified including that of PPE. Report done, nothing acted on. With the need to have PPE passed as safe for use, companies should have been approached had their capacities and products passed, to be called on should the inevitable happen, metaphorically flicking a switch for the supply chain. There hasn't been enough discipline from the government to control peoples behaviour, more of a weak advisement to "Lockdown" with pathetic and non effective penalties for not heading advice. Figures have been manipulated to play down the seriousness of the testing fiasco. Its only in recent days, the Government has been backed into a corner to include care home death figures. As a consequence of a more realistic figure, we have the trophy of having the second highest death rate globally, secondly to America. I personally think its been a shambles of ineptitude, for which the consequences have destroyed so many lives, in so many ways. We have the equivalent of two Boeing 747's airliners coming down daily, 14 per week, with total loss of life. Imagine that on the news each evening? My final comment is that shared above, it is here to stay. I have said this from the beginning of the outbreak......There are, IMHO, 4 options. Get it and lose your life, get it and survive with hopefully, some form of immunity, have the vaccine, when it eventually arrives, or somehow, isolate yourself from any contact with the outside world.
  14. Thank you Cyrus. Theres a possibility that Toyota will investigate it, following me contacting them. Who knows when that can take place with the CV. However, if that comes to nothing, I would be grate fun for his contact details. Stay safe T33
  15. Thank you for all the replies. Milner and Roughtrax can’t help. No replacements only basic rebuild kits; bearings and ring gear. Bizzare. Have had 6 Hilux’s over many years, all have done over 150k without the slightest hiccup. Still as they say, it is what it is, so just have to sort it out. Thanks chaps.
  16. I have a 2014, Hilux invincible ( or not!) 49k on the clock. The front diff has a major problem internally, and needs replacing. Yes I know, shouldn't happen, but it has. Doesn't do/had any hard work. Only slipped into 4x4 on the occasional muddy farm track to go shooting. The options are dire at the moment. Bay for one, high chance of pay cheap (900) pay twice, or OEM 2.5k!!!!! And then finding someone to do it.....all I get around here is the sucked lips thing and total lack of enthusiasm! So, any ideas, recommendations would be gratefully received. Thanks Chaps!
  17. I have an ongoing dispute with AVG. In Feb, they helped themselves to £99.99 from my credit card. I've tackled them to demand a refund as I don't have their anti virus. They sent an email to say a refund would be issued in 7 working days. Nothing. Obviously I've kept the CC company informed. Ive had all sorts of fob offs, endless emails, from, ..... "Our records show, it was repaid two days after I requested a refund". To where? "Your credit card" No it wasn't. " Our records show, it was repaid two days after I requested a refund" To where? "Your paypal account" No it wasn't. " We've escalated to our concerned team" Nothing.........then when pushed further " Our records show it was repaid.."etc, etc... On checking my records, there were no payments taken in 2016. 2017. But I had missed a transaction when they helped themselves to £59.99 in Feb 2018. My fault for not paying enough attention. Then no payment taken in 2019. Now £99.99 in 2020. I've handed the whole thing over to the Credit company , and ensured AVG are blocked from taking any further payments, as clearly there is more to this. So keep an eye on your credit card. Look out for, and note the spacing..... DRI*AVG Technologies order find.comIRL
  18. I watched Tyson Fury last night. The upshot of his fight with Deontay Wilder, is that he had to get the right trainer to win the battle and secure his title, this by letting go, what his father felt was a trainer not adequate enough for that which was required. We know the result. I agree with Retsdon, this is where we are.
  19. I glance here now and again. It never ceases to amaze me, how appalling your posts can be, but you really have excelled on this occasion. I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you and your family.
  20. Well I certainly wan't going to let him capitalise on the devastating situation in Oz, peoples deaths, to line his nest and agenda. His Facebook page is hot with condemnation for his actions, and I've said my piece. Absolutely abhorrent behaviour from a rather disgusting, manipulative individual.
  21. What proofed data do you have for using maxam powder? The bushes control the amount powder dropped, not the weight of shot dropped. That bar has a fixed hole that throws 32 grms No.6 it will probably throw close to the same in No.5. Get some scales, as I advised and see what it drops, otherwise you won't know. You can buy different bars for alternative shot weights, or an adjustable one, all from Clay & Game. The bush in the bar controls the powder drop. As I explained and gave you, there are lots of sizes of bushes available depending on what weight of powder is required. This is SERIOUS............DO NOT make up a cartridge without using proofed data and understanding how critical the powder measurement is. DO NOT just use an existing bush from one make of powder to another. Do NOT confuse grains/grams of powder with grams of shot. Get a scale to be absolutely sure that you are using the correct sized bush, that is dropping the exact weight for the particular make of powder on the data, as I advised you, and to check shot weight too. I've set it up for you to do 70mm cartridges. Your choice of powder might be less/more in volume than your previous powder, therefore as sports bob said above, you might need a shorter or longer fibre wad, a different sized bush to get the correct powder drop and quoting Old Farrier, there might be less or more in volume with N0.5 shot. There is no need to alter the crimp settings as they are done, super sensitive and a pig to get right. If your powder measurement is exact and the shot weight also, and you can't close the crimp or crush the shell, decrease the wad height. Conversely, if the crimp caves in, like I showed you, you will need to increase the wad height. As a short answer as to how much powder you will need for 1000 cartridges, find the data and do the sum. For example if its 1.6gms (24.69grains) multiplied by 1000 is 1600grams or 1.6kgs And as Motty said, please get a reloading book so you completely understand what you are doing. Regards T33

  23. Its called humour! The posts have been tidied up by the mods, understandably, but there are still above.....for a short time before the mods do the housework, some really insulting remarks fro white bridges. Some might not have been here to see the thread, but I have worked through it constantly, so am aware of what has been on there, even if others have not been current.
