  1. +1 Beat me to it. You haven't said what you will be using it for (clays or game). Fit is very important... Don't just buy it cos it's a Beretta! If it does fit you and is in nice condition, £600 is a fair price IMO
  2. I had one of these some years ago. Mine was 28 inch barrel, fixed choke game model (with the solid rib). It does say the model on the underside of the action, as welshwarrior says. Googled a good example picture: http://www.gunlistings.org/tennessee-gun-classifieds/chattanooga/all/92478/beretta_686_ou_12ga Nice guns.
  3. Thanks for the heads up - I will look out for it. I remember reading 'Will's Shoot' a few years ago now, and that's another excellent read. He is a very interesting character that's for sure with a knowledge of shooting and the countryside that is second to none.
  4. His wife, Paula Yates, ran off with Michael Hutchence. She died of a heroin overdose leaving Bob to bring up his daughters. Peaches was a 'troubled' teen by all accounts. So, yeah, I would agree he's had it hard...
  5. I agree. Also, powdered milk cartons on the floor of the container to fatten them up
  6. I had my gun fitted at Coley's and thought it was good value. It's £100 for a one hour fitting session, plus you you need to factor in the cost of any alterations you may need. As HDAV says, you can 'try before you buy' at the ground too. If I were you I would take your time trying out different guns until you find one you really like. That's the fun part. You can get it properly fitted sometime in the future, after you have got used to the gun.
  7. My 28" Maxus was longer than my 30" O/U (even with the extended chokes fitted). Didn't find this a problem, just couldn't get the gun to fit me despite fiddling with all the shims that came with it. Shame, as it's a quality gun.
  8. Christ..the guy in the flat with the puppies! He doesn't appear to be quite the full ticket. Why are these people allowed to have pets? Depressing viewing. 😟
  9. Skeet choke now SOLD Just 1/4 choke available now. £22 posted.
  10. Rush in 1981 on Moving Pictures tour. My first ever gig at 14 years old! Glastonbury in the early 90's. Particularly memorable, not for the music, but for the fact that I watched literally hundreds of people get free access by scaling the fence right next to where I was camped. I had bought a ticket . I also had all my money stolen on the first day. Didn't feel the peace and love that weekend. Others worth a mention: Faith No More touring 'The Real Thing' in 1990. Rolling Stones in Paris (Steel Wheels tour) Jeff Buckley - Glastonbury The Firm (mid '80's) - my hero worship of Jimmy Page ended that day. Appalling. Janes Addiction ('Ritual...' tour) Fugazi - great gig, Ian MacKaye's audience banter and 2 drummers!
  11. Ah...I get it. The photo is upside down. Not sure why - blame the ipad. If I could edit it I would!

Yes, what a life he has. Mansion in Florida, fleet of supercars and bikes. The boy's done well. Comes across as being really down to earth too...and still in touch with his mates back home.
  14. Nope wouldn't wouldn't pay half price either . An accident waiting to happen. I have never been on a simulated shoot I hasten to add...but this can't be the norm.
  15. Welcome John. I've been to your ground several times and plan to go again next Wednesday. Great set up with a really friendly atmosphere. You have a very testing rabbit stand which gets the better of me every visit!
  16. Sounds like you had a cracking day. Glad the rain kept away and you managed a good bag.

  18. Have to say, much as I like the Walking Dead, IMO Breaking Bad was a LOT better. Very addictive viewing! Think it actually lived up to the hype.
  19. An excellent offer. I think this is the first invite I've ever seen local to me...and I'm working all week. Good luck for Thursday, JDog. Hope it stays dry for you.
