Has anyone any experience with thermal scopes
jimmyb79 replied to snipermarksman's topic in Guns & Equipment
I used to own an Apex XD75 and it was superb. Foolishly sold it to buy the new Trail XP38 from Pulsar which was a big step down in terms of identification capability. The picture was superb to about 100yds but rapidly declined after that. The XD75 was great to 200yds. Net result, I now use my old Pulsar Quantum XD50 spotter with traditional scope/lamp to shoot. -
Low light-wise, it was certainly a big improvement on my previous Leupold, especially with the illuminated display. I purchased mine from Scott Country International.

I have one, really nice range finder. The specs for it say minimum range distance is 5 yards.

Begara (Quake Stag Chair) Shooting/Hide Seat
jimmyb79 replied to wymberley's topic in Guns & Equipment
I don't have mine to hand to measure, but in terms of comfort, I found the cushion from any old spinning bucket seat fits perfectly on the Begara. -
Sent mine off in April and it expires in a couple of weeks. Temp certificate received last week so they are definitely on the ball. my last variation was done over the phone too.

Should've been 3450 or near offer.

Changed my Wildcat for a Ducis mod from Calibre Innovations. Really pleased I did - absolutely superb mod.

The swivel tops from bucket seats are a perfect fit, albeit depending on the thickness you may not be able to fold the chair completely as you can without. They do, however, make a perfect upgrade to improve the comfort of the seat. I have mine attached by Velcro so can take the top off when storing the chair.

I have the Recknagel on my x-bolt which cost me around £40 from Alan Rhone via eBay a couple of years back. It is good quality.

Musto Technical Tweed Shooting Coat - XXL I believe the tweed is called 'Bracken' but is a brown tweed with hints of red. In excellent condition £220 posted Paypal ok if buyer pays fees.

I have two that I use with Pulsar devices. One is a Yukon MPR and is good, but does compress the image that it records a fair bit. The other I got recently is a Lawmate PV500. Bit more expensive but the footage is better quality. http://www.scottcountry.co.uk/products_detail.asp?productID=3618

My first thermal was the Apex XD75. I've been using it for a year and a bit now. I've recently bought a Quantum XD50 too. Like one of the earlier posters, if any of it broke, I'd beg borrow and steal to get another of each.

Another vote for the FLX500 from Scott Country from me. I've had the GC350 and also a very expensive FoxPro Fusion, and the FLX500 outshines the pair of them. I genuinely have never had so many foxes come into an electronic call before. For the money you can't go wrong.

Really easy. Like Fister says, you can stick calls on an SD card and pop it in the back of the caller. From there, sync the remote and you're good to go. Superb caller.
