  1. I've tested and reviewed several of these guns over the last....3 years or so and I have to say that they really do shoot very well indeed. However the price of them is now not so good. When they first came into the country they were very good for the money but over the last couple of years the price of them has rocketed and to be honest, they really aren't worth the money any more. The resale value is not as good as others and they are still a bit young shall we say to judge reliability. Saying that I have had quite a few reports from gun shops that they are not so hot on the reliability side if used heavily, so beware.
  2. Shows what an absolute rip-off insurance is doesn't it ? The difference in prices between them on the same cars etc, etc. I tried Adrian Flux but they were £150ish over what I'm paying. I have used 2gether Finance via Pajero Owners Club for the last six years for my Pajero 2800TDI SWB because no one else can get near them for me. I paid £200 fully comp.
  3. Well....come on then, own up. Who has forgotten the bloo** gun lately ?
  4. Warning: Edge on targets will be difficult if the gun does not fit well enough..
  5. Oooooh! a clear case of sexual discrimination there I think.
  6. Corrrrr! I wish. Just too much money for me really.
  7. Yeah, take it to a gun smith and let them raise it a few mm for you.
  8. If your not a serious clay shooter it's fine on most but a 40+yd edge on clay. Rough shooting is ok if you use 30/32gram No 4-5 shot. If it fits reasonably you'll be ok.
  9. Fabulous guns for the money but the mk70 does have a low comb, so beware as you may not be able to get the correct sight picture up the rib. You could end up lifting your head off the stock if it's too low. Hopefully your one of those people that the MK70 fits well.
  10. Forget it and buy an open top cartridge pouch, like some clay shooters wear. Much easier to speed load the gun and won't damage your stock badly. I use one all the time when Game shooting.......brilliant.
  11. In a nut shell. Everything far too expensive for a country going through a recession. Another nail in the coffin of Shooting GB. But this time from Shooting H.Q What next I wonder ?
  12. Make sure the gun has an appropriate chamber length to suit the cartridge. Some guns are so tough that they will fire a 3 inch magnum for a while before exploding but the empty shells are tough to get out due to the cartridge opening into the barrel and not the chamber. The Webley Scott bolt action single 410 comes to mind. The problem is common with 410s though.
  13. Go and shoot at least 50 clays, it will help you with seeing if the fit is good or not. If a pattern plate is available, have a go on that. If there's a good coach around, ask him to have a look for you. You won't be able to judge fit too well on pigeons and rabbits unless you know what your doing.
  14. A good shoot all in all. Bit damp but ok, got better as things went on. Plenty on the Have a go stand. Had a shoot off. Sausages were excellent. Made over £4,000 I'm told by 12.30pm. Down the pub for a pint or two. And then a long drive home for me, but worth it.
  15. Just a reminder, it's tomorrow - Sunday morning guys.
  16. It's not just a way of curing flinching by around 95%, it's the proper way to squeeze the trigger. If you have the trigger in the joint there is far to much movement in the finger causing inconsistencies in trigger pulling. This results in missing behind normally but often underneath when flinching as you pull the muzzles downwards when doing so.
  17. What gun are you using ? What cartridge are you using ?
  18. Too much cast or eye dominance but sounds very much like cast.
  19. One of the best ways to get rid of flinching is start with your finger on the trigger. Far too many shooters start there mount with their finger either on the trigger guard or the wood above the trigger. Start with your finger on the edge of the trigger but only squeeze the trigger with your first pad of the finger. Do not put the trigger into the joint of the finger, its wrong. Place the end finger pad, that's the one with your nail on, on the trigger exactly half way across it. This will ensure you merely squeeze the trigger rather than pulling it wildly which will cause flinching when under pressure/stress. Which of course is exactly what you are under when shooting and wishing not to miss. Use the first pad only. Some really top quality guns will often have a right or left handed wide trigger. The grip knurling/engraving on the trigger will only be on one side of the trigger. This is because it's designed to be used with just the centre of the first pad of the finger sitting on it. Triggers such as the modern narrow gold trigger on Beretta's are notorious for causing flinching because of the awful shape making people wrap the finger around the trigger. Watch out for that. Also, why people think they need cartridges that kick like hell to kill a pigeon is beyond me. There's masses of cartridges out there with less recoil that will kill a pigeon stone dead at 50 yds with number 5 shot. Makes no sense at all.
  20. I've have a sponsored one from Beretta that I've been using all season, frankly its a Beretta. Its great, no need for a manual really as it has a 10 year guarantee and taking it apart and putting it back together is child's play. I've also reviewed one of these for a top shooting magazine last year and it was great then as well. You have got yourself a very good gun for the money mate....good choice.
  21. What is it choked ? I love these guns but the short stock is a bug***.
  22. Not again, there's a real bad bout of this going on in the south at the moment. The best bet is to mark the traps well and tell people what the mark is and where if stolen. We can all look out for them then. Welding the club name on the trap is a good idea. Put it where the thieves can see it instantly. If anyone buys a new trap with a grinded patch on it, they'll know its a stolen one. If you buy a second hand one off the club with the name on.....so what, the club knows about it and you both should have the serial number anyway.
  23. Laurona 3" chambers, rust proof O/U. Perfect all weather farm gun and cheap. OR Baikal 627.
  24. Lovely bit of kit that if your into Semi Auto's. Decent price as well if mint. I would love it but..... Good luck Bonneville. If your after a top quality Semi Auto guys at a good price.....this is it.
  25. A few pictures of it on here wouldn't hurt either.
