Just to feedback (after using up my stock of cartridges) I bought some cartridges. I might need to shop around more, I was surprised by how much they had gone up. The last time I bought some must have been two years ago. I might pop over to Garlands to see if they’re cheaper. Thank you for all of your help -

Thanks Westley, I am not far from Oakedge and will try there for cartridges. Many years ago I bought a gun from Matt and I didn’t know that he had moved, he’s a decent bloke. As I say Westley thanks for your help. Cheers Old Un, I think I know the clay shoot you’re on about and will get over there. I need to get back into my shooting, I’ll try Oakedge next week and then the microlight school. I miss not just the shooting but the banter as well. Take care. -

As per title, I’m relatively new to the area and need to buy cartridges. For those living in Staffs, where do you go? Any help appreciated. Ta -
For me, a youngish 63, I’ve noticed that as you get older you worry about the future more and savings give you a blanket feeling of security. I also know from experience how savings can be quickly eaten up by residential/care costs.

If you’re a collector there’s a lovely sale at Bonhams: paintings; bronzes -gundogs. Some works by John Tricket. Out of my price range but worth a look. Ta https://www.bonhams.com/auction/28776/the-dog-sale/

In the last year I've been scammed twice by someone managing to get hold of bank a/c details. I couldn't believe how easy it was.

He always struck me as a decent and honest bloke whenever I heard him on the radio or saw him on the box, a sad loss.

I don't think its been established who loaned £800k, I thought Blyth was the guarantor not the lender.

I loved the book, Barry Hines also wrote 'The Gamekeeper', remember seeing the play in tele, from what I remember worth a read.

Just watched the report on BBC news, it's beyond belief that he ever got a license. Showed the clip of him beating someone up and the shotgun used.

There are a couple of issues here. Are you saying that it is likely her capital will go below £23,250 (capital limit) and you would be looking to social services to fund care in the future? If so, it will then centre around as to whether by gifting money away there was deliberate deprivation of capital with a view to securing local authority funding.

I would advise that you put everything in writing to the DWP and keep a copy. I would also suggest contacting your local MP as well, it's surprising how quickly you get a result once you do this. Although your MP is think is Chris Pincher, I'm not sure what's happening there at the moment. Is it a fine or are they seeking to recover an overpayment?

Get advice from a solicitor about applying for Deputyship, this is different from power of attorney. You can do some research yourself by looking at the Age Concern website and also the Office of the Public Guardian. In the end it will depend on whether or not she has capacity (mental) to make decisions.
