Just wondering about all of you who shoot gallery rifles, if you could use either type of bullet what would it be.

There's a couple of places in SF I go to: Jackson Arms About a mile from the Airport in the not so nice "South San Francisco". Pretty good range with a nice selection of Glocks and the like. Only problem, you need to be with someone else if you're hiring, i.e. you cannot tip up on your own probably for the reasons other have mentioned. They do (or did) a hand gun course for beginners which I did a few years back where you get some instruction in .22 have a bit of a shoot and then grab an armful of fun stuff to shoot. Well worth the $80 I think it cost. If you fancy a bit of Clay shooting there's Coyote Valley. It's up in the hills just south of San Jose, a couple of the nearby towns have some great outlet shopping so you could drop off the misses and take a drive up there. Very relaxed if not a tad expensive HTH

I did my first ever load of priming last night. Two of the 250 I primed on-press felt wrong so rather than force it I just tried reseating the case, one then worked fine the other was binned.

That's what we'd call a "tactical chunder". Very useful for getting well past the 20 pint mark.

Super sport. I test fired around 100 through the maxus around sporting targets, then bought a ss without even picking one up. I made the right choice. I can't really put into words why the ss is better, all I can say is its fast handling, quick to get on the second target, ultra reliable, doesn't need much cleaning, throws great patterns, looks nice and costs a bit...

I suppose it all depends on what you consider expensive. Cheap guns under 20k all shoot the same anyway. I can't see a gun snob admitting to owning anything that cost less than that, can you?

My benelli super sport doesn't do eley firsts in 21g totally reliably occassionally the bolt doesn't fully lock back. Get a jam every 20 shots or so

I also looked at the Armalon and SGC 9mm but have settled on getting a custom PC rifle built instead. The Armalon looks way expensive for what it is, the SGC has had a load of reliability problems reported with the new glock mag version which put me right off. Being a lefty I thought I'd go the whole hog and am now getting a LH bolt action .45 ACP rifle built based on a Remington 700. It's going to take around 3 - 4 months, but it is fun feeling like you're in an episode of "Sons of Guns"
