  1. I used to be a die hard straight whiskey drinker and then my dad suggested a splash of water and it just changes the whole flavour, much more depth and mellowness. Really does need just a splash though and tepid rather than cold too I'd suggest.
  2. Is is just the one tray or two?
  3. 18yo Glenfiddich and a splash of water
  4. I'd say you got off lightly and you might want to consider slowing down in future...
  5. Why not swap the bolt on LCD monitor for a pair of video glasses
  6. Are the DVD's Australian?
  7. A nice and soft leather 12g cartridge belt with a little water staining to some of the loops. Suit up to a 38" waist. £10 collected from Northampton or £13 posted (mouse not included)
  8. 10 * 36g - #5 RC (JK 6 T5's I think, they have some light corrosion on the heads) 24 * 30g - #6 Lyvale Pigeon Special Fibre 80 * 32g - #5 Lyvale Special Game Fibre 21 * 50g - #3 Lyvale Max Game 3" Magnum £35 the lot collection only with SGC from Northampton
  9. I just paid 400 for a LH .243 from a shop
  10. Had a long chat with my FEO and he was happy with everything I put in for .22LR, .357/38 + .357 LBR, .45 & .30. He did cut down my CF ammo from 500 to 200 but I'm not fussed since I'll be reloading anyway. No dodgy questions, did ask me about how I would transport a rifle to and from the range, where it would be stored, security arrangements and the like. When I offered him a Hobnob he said that could be construed as bribery, so we settled on rich tea instead.
  11. I've just commissioned a build of a .45 acp rifle for shooting 25m indoors and upto around 100m outdoors, and pointers to a good (not OTT) scope. Daylight use only.
  12. Well had mine today and went pretty well I think. Changed a few calibres I'd asked for, marked down the ammunition I asked for to lower levels but all in all good...................apart from the wait which could be upto 12 weeks :o
  13. I once had a quote from Everest for 27,000 for two windows. He left quite quickly after that......
  14. Got my interview tomorrow so I'm pulling some stuff together about relevant GR classes and competitions for the calibres I've asked for too.
  15. I've been on the lookout for something a bit different in a pistol calibre to shoot at the club; indoors and outdoors upto 100m rather than the usual Marlins and Rossi. I checked out the new Ruger .44 & .357 bolt action and it felt very toy like and rough so I've been thinking about getting a custom gun made instead. Before I do, does anyone know of a quality pistol calibre bolt action rifle (other than Armalon)?
  16. When my FAC finally arrives I'll be shopping for a .357 and .22LR for a bit of plinking fun. Anyone tried the new Ruger M77/357 or 44 bolt action rifle? I expect the Benelli Supersport will be too to make way for a bit of a switch to FAC so might see if I can stretch to something special to replace it.
  17. We've got ex battery hens the four of them looked like they had escaped from a butchers they had so few feathers. Six months on and they're fully feathered and very happy we get an egg a day from each even in the winter. Don't expect your garden to survive though, our have an area around 10m x 5m to roam in and it looks like a battle field. They've eaten everything green and dig holes everywhere. On the plus side the kids love them and they are very easy to handle.
  18. Geoff Byrant at Northampton Shooting Ground got me up and running on clays. I'm pretty sure that they either did or still do a freebie lesson for ladies on a Sunday morning too.
  19. Not die, more have a little nap and pop up again in a couple of months when the sun is shining
  20. Only that at the moment there aren't enough people available to run it. We'd need at least 15, pref 20 to get this going. If there aren't many more sign ups in the next week I'll speak to the ground about other dates later in the year.
  21. Any takers, forgot I still had this.
  22. Chuck it in the dishwasher and then give it a spray of GT-85, job done
  23. I'll take the 9mm. Pm me payment details cheers
