  1. Rang again this morning. No issues just few details given as asked and I was given a log number and told you shouldn’t have any problems as we know you’re out. Had no issues all day and to top it off had a fantastic day shooting a mixed bag of crows and pigeons total bag :138 👌🏼 So very happy as is the farmer crows decoyed brilliantly pigeons not quite so much but you’ll see all in my next couple videos when I get time 😀
  2. called 101 they've just asked if I can call back in the morning with details of vehicles and shooters then they will log it and provide me the log code which should any officers stop me I can show them and thatll sort any problems. Carry on as normal just to inform them once I finish. They were very polite and no issue regarding lockdown was even mentioned so I can only assume they were exercising common sense which was refreshing. In fact they thanked me for getting in touch to avoid unnecessary call outs! If it is as easy as that in the morning (which I cant see why not) then it will have been very painless. I'll let you know how it goes tomorrow if you like 👍
  3. I have been asked to shoot tomorrow on a permission, the farmer has said pigeons are hitting a drilled wheat field en mass could I go shoot them to protect the crop. (spoke to police and have gotten all relevant authorisation, perm starts within 500yards of my house just noting this to avoid offending anyone thinking im putting anyone at risk) Odd thing is the field has just started showing emerging plants after being direct drilled approx. a week ago and apparently they are doing the same thing- pulling up the seedlings and eating the lot. All of this is on the say so of the farmer which I have no reason to doubt but will see for myself in the morning when I go to help him out so perhaps this is a new tactic to the pigeons or maybe one they just never usually get caught using as they are shot off the drilling before this? who knows. Good shooting and stay safe 👍
  4. I did wander how long to leave it on and noted I shall leave it up longer next time 👍🏼 Haha yep I keep forgetting to follow the birds after the shot as habit makes me want to reload asap but I will try get the result clearer going on for sure this one was a bit tricky due to the trees but point taken. Thanks for the suggestions I really appreciate it.
  5. Only another short video but hopefully my editing will improve the more I try?! well maybe some will enjoy these early attempts as we look forward to seeing the back of this virus and will be able to get out properly once again! Excuse the dodgy narration its a lot more difficult than I thought it would be talking to a screen but adds to the comedy! 🤣
  6. If this runs (hopefully it will) after the lockdowns etc are cleared would there still be spaces for entrants? If i am free on the new date I’d like to enter and may know if a couple others that’dbe interested.
  7. Sorry yes I meant some sort uv reflective paint as in it would reflect more in the uv spectrum (I’d that’s a thing?! Just made it up tbh) than a normal type of paint I presume to highlight the decoys as per the “slip over jackets” from sillosocks and a very brief search shows some paint for the white parts of your decoy that is uv reflective. I doubt too much money has been invested into researching a pigeons eyesight in fairness so would imagine much of it is more opinion based than factual
  8. I seem to remember reading or being told that they are at least impaired when it comes to the colours that say humans see but wasn't there the thing about them being able to see a certain amount in uv?? I think some decoys (silliosocks possibly) were painted in a uv paint that shows up to the pigeon? As for seed dressing- I have shot a lot of pigeons stuffed with pink/red coated seed wheat etc so I don't think the coverings deter the birds in my experience you've described a four day build up period and personally id say that is very normal for the birds to find the crop then build big numbers as they draw in on it. The rain shower may have altered the birds habits for example the local woods may have provided some decent shelter the we day that would've brought the birds together meaning when it cleared they all then found a nice field of peas as the first bit of food they came across on leaving the trees hence a sudden mass increase of birds locking onto an easy food source. Just my thoughts on your situation described im sure others will have their own take and experiences.
  9. looks like ill be getting a set from there then! cheers guys never even heard of the place before today!
  10. Thanks mate just tried to find this but it says his website is currently under construction so had no luck!
  11. Hi all I am considering adding some good quality extendable hide poles with solid kick pegs to my kit as mine are antique and seen much much better days! anyone got any available used? Thanks
  12. Thames valley, I have also emailed the firearms licensing dept. To see if they’d be able to clarify anything for certain so will post on here if they can say yes or no for sure I intend on trying to put together some videos hopefully fairly regularly but of all sorts of shooting antics and as this one has been received well with some good feedback I have a couple ideas to improve them especially as hoping my editing skills can improve a bit 😂 wouldn’t hurt if my shooting can do the same lol
  13. Very dependant on the day in my experience. If the birds aren’t particularly committing one day just popping above a good hide can be enough to flare them at 50+yards.....at the same time and I’m sure I’m not the only one but I’ve had a silver pickup parked in the middle of a big decoy spread at the end of the day and continuously shot pigeon one after another stood next to said truck in bright sunshine they fully committed shooting 90% of them at around 20-25yards!! I don’t really tend to go to too much effort in hides etc so long as it’ll break up my outline and mask majority of movements it usually does the trick I find.
  14. Okay cool I’ll persevere with this one for now then...but it seems leaving off the music would be preferable or maybe just need to find the pigeon shooting community’s taste 🤔😂 thanks for the reply mate 👍🏼
  15. The farm that I shoot has three fields that my house backs directly onto and having just purchased a shotkam from a user on here I desperately wanted to try it out! (Been after one for years) farmer drilled a few fields about a quarter mile up the road that has been getting a fair bit of attention from the local crows as he gave me a call. Spoke to police about legalities of shooting and got a response consisting of links to the basic isolation info nothing specific so I didn’t want to risk anything and that ruled out setting up actually on the drilling as there's a footpath never usually used by more than 2 people a day currently being used by half of Bucks it seems 🙄 so I attempted just a couple hours of pulling a few on the grass field, no real flightline across it but got a few down whilst staying within complete isolation so all was well. Setup was half dozen pigeon decoys in generic U roughly 30yards to centre of pattern with 2 full body crows and a jackdaw on an a1 turbo flapper placed approx 10yards in front of the pigeons If anyone has suggestions of better video editing software etc please comment as had no idea what I was doing! Oh and ignore the music haha I do love these cameras though 🙌🏽
  16. Doesn’t look like I’ll be on this one but best of luck to you and I hope you have a good day! Be good if you could post up how you get on. 👍🏼
  17. Haven’t heard anything yet but it’d only take couple hours to get down there so anytime before 5am will do 😂
  18. Hi mate quick question that will help me as well as others I’m sure too- How many guns are there on the day? many thanks Dan
  19. No worries was only after full. All the best.
  20. If 'THC' hasnt taken the lot via pm I'll take the full tube please mate. For 14 quid its worth a go i figure lol if you pm me your details will send payment and delivery address. Thanks
  21. Do you know if these would fit all beretta multichoke (i have a silver pigeon and would be interested in the full choke to make it full/full)?
  22. thanks for the response, seem to be around the 175quid? will keep it in mind and see what others are using. cheers that the tracer light?
  23. Hi guys, I am currently in the market for a good quality lamp, scope mounted as I do most of my lamping alone, for my 22.250 for foxes. Shooting requirements I have are for as clear as possible light out to 200m to shoot by as I don't intend shooting any further than this (my gut says to go for at least a 350m beam to get good clear light at 200m?), it must be scope mounted but easily detachable, decent ( 2-3hours minimum) life on single charge. Any suggestions welcome or experiences good or bad would be really helpful! Cheers lads Dan
  24. hahaha you big kid! Lol yup dstone92 on mlr....you on there as well I take it?
  25. Cheers lads. Hahaha I bet that was fun in your focus and fair play to you! But I couldn't do it, wouldn't be able to bring myself to. Lol fair bit of difference between these road going versions and a specced up rally one. Did it with my old car (mitsi colt ralliart 210bhp). Dont think splitter would do too well over fields. would need to be a very flat field
