  1. Get your syndicate out as standing guns and get the hounds to run through. Thats what we are doing on our 4000acre+ Commercial shoot.
  2. don't be upset mate, you have done your job well. Good Job
  3. personaly i think its a bad idea and just not worth the hassle
  4. Read this before setting a spring trap for a suspected Polecat!! http://www.basc.org.uk/en/codes-of-practice/trapping-pest-mammals.cfm
  5. Dogs, cats and other playful animals will normally play with them, because you have seen an injury i would think thats the case.
  6. As you found its a waste of cartridge trying to shoot them through the nest..... much better to wait till they are 'branchers' much easier and less suffering.
  7. All gone from one of my permissions because some cowboys spent a day on a grass field with 50+ deeks and blew them to smithereens. Grazeing is not a good reason for shooting them out of season, otherwise you might as well shoot the sheep and cows too as they **** all over fields...... leave the poor things alone to breed and wait till september
  8. Gamekeepers do provide good countryside management. But we also shoot/trap anything we don't want on our shoots. We kill things for no other reason but to protect our Birds. when was the last time you saw a jockey lamping a dog that is worrying his horse?? We give alot, but i bet we take alot more!!
  9. well if the horses didn't want to run and jump why do they keep going after the rider is dismounted?
  10. And i'm pretty sure steel shot has to be used on watefowl regardless of weather they are on/over water or not
  11. here we go again....... Just do a search for 'Canada Geese' on here, im sure you will find everything you want to know.
  12. taken on a nice high tide on a blustery night, using localy dug black lug...... they were crammed full of small crabs. I have had quite a few 8lb+ Bass over the years all to lug
  13. had a couple of undersized ones the other night, and a pair of 10lb+ ones
  14. Depends which species of geese. Canada's are on the pest list in most places i think, so just check the GL for your country. All the others are thankfully out of season. Thats all i'm going to say! :look: :look:
  15. +1, if these were used all you would see is 3 legged animals!!
  16. yeah thats just a silly wiki thing that you can only 'like' i mean a group page, that you can 'join'
  17. well its falcon that talks about 'controling populations', then talks about DEFRAS 'clearance' rules....so which is it?
  18. haha whats the point in calling it a rabbit clearance as in your above post?? to me clearance is to get rid of......so the landowners in this area should be getting fined. you can wipe out a warren by ferreting, rats however can live in sewers so are harder to get rid of...so why compre the two? i think that DEFRA need a reality check
  19. maybe we should petition to Dave BASC
  20. So why are there ANY Rabbits left anywhere in the country? under these terms they should all be shot, trapped or poisened, otherwise surely all the landowners sould be fined or sued for ahving rabbits on their land?
