  1. a single mallad for me i should have taken my other gun as i can't shoot my SXS but its just as much about getting out for me
  2. Madness utter madness. See you all down there
  3. I don't know why everyone gets in a huff over the lead ban for wildfowl. I am a wildfowler and i don't mind it. Most of the time steel is cheaper than lead anyway and as long as your taking ducks at around 30-40 yrds (which is far enough even for taking fowl with lead shot on a flowing estuary) then the kill ratio is very good. Alot of people say they are rubbish without even trying it.
  4. yup we are nailing them good. we are getting around 100 a week
  5. yup wind up radios, flashing lights, pee in jars, Human hair shoved in tights and hung up, dead foxes left around. Those cat deterrents work too (the ones with reflective eyes) They all work
  6. we had one of our ex-layers which had a bare back get a shock off the electric fence yesterday it was funny as hell. lol i mentioned this as it too proceeded to stagger round the place like a drunk.
  7. Judging by the damage i would say a .243. May be wrong tho Good shooting fella
  8. well why not state that your were asking for taking pictures on your opening post? Alot of people use this as an educational site. Thats why i posted my post
  9. If i remember correctly its illigal to use electronic calls to call in birds
  10. lol every year this gets pointed out
  11. The boss bought ours think they worked out at about 80 pence each for 200 odd
  12. we would normally remove the vixen as the cubs don't like seeing mother dead. Then go back the following night and they will be wandering around looking for her. There is a good chance that they have moved on.
  13. This thread is a bad idea. If you do take long shots keep it to yourself as most the time you will not outright kill whatever it is you are shooting at and we owe it to our quarry to make it as quick and painless as possible. ATB
  14. Nice one. It sounds like you had a frustrating time trying to get them. On our commercial shoot in North Wales we have out 80-90 snares at a time. They are dead handy because they are 'working' 24 hours a day. The only problem with them is it can take a while for your scent to wear off them. Anyway keep up the good work and if you need a hand laping etc let me know. ATB
  15. won't these be from the longer distance shots? Must have only had the velocity to punch through one side.

    .223

Just got my firearms certificate and i am looking for a .223, anything considered but i would prefer it to be as cheap as possible. Thanks
  17. That won't matter mate! as are our ponds and we have wild duck on them all year. They prefer rivers when the ponds are frozen up. ATB
  18. Just keep feeding your released ducks with plenty for any others. If wild ducks are in the area and see ducks on a pond they will natrally come into them and as long as there is food there on a daily basis they will keep comming back. ATB
  19. what age are these ferts? how many jills have you got left? where abouts in/near chester are you? Cheers
