  11. i was envolved in a Road traffic accident on the 23rd of dec along with a few collegues, one of them seriously. i thought i would walk over to see him today as he is house bound,it is exactly 3.5 miles by road so me and dog made the one hour journey down hill, we had lunch and talked about all sorts,as you do. When i said i was heading home he suggested i go back "the tourist route" to "give the dog some exercise" fine i thought, good idea he drew me a map all was going fine until about an hour, the supposed bridge i was to cross had dissapered so after a mile or so i thought i could either walk all the way back i had come or shoes off socks off and trousers up and cross i dun the latter. bbrrrr it was cold, anyway upon arriving home 3 hour 20 mins later frozen and raining by now i phoned him and his answer was he thought i could do with some exercise too!!! b*gger that he is at least he has not lost his sense of humor!!
  12. what a sad case, there was an article about it is shooting times around 4 weeks ago, some handlers give their dogs mars bars for energy during a working day, this is fine as the cocoa % in a mars bar is low but your dark chocolate at 74% is rich and given in any quantity to a dog can have serious effects.

  16. not had her scored yet but doing it soon. i want to breed her at the most suceptible time for her taking, i was told this at 2 years, which lands slap bang at the start of next season so i could either go ahead as planned or wait until this time next year. dunno if you do much in the way of working dogs either in a shoot or trial but thats where i identify poss candidates then check pedigree from there. hav u heard of a shoot at stralloch, nr dyce?
  17. on the subject of hide poles, you could always have a look at the washing line props in homebase or other big diy places as these are generally pretty cheap and the ones you need have a plastic lock nut in thev centre which enables you to shorten or extend. You will need to get a piece of dowel or even a piece of ash to insert inside the bottom piece so that it can be sharpened and then pushed into the ground. If you do not do this and assume thar hammering the tube to a point will work you will be disappointed as it will collapse on you and you will have wasted your time and money genius hav 2 try that myself!!
