  1. Appologies. When I first posted I had in my mind bog standard car tyres, and I stand by what I have said above. +/- 1 or psi is not goging to make a differnece in mosts cars. +/- 5psi will howver start to show effects. As stated in of the above posts, when 5psi is lost it affects the MPG, reducing it. This is due to the tyre now having a larger footprint and therefore producing more drag. +5psi over the recommended pressure and you will start to see the effects above. However, the effects are proportional to the tyre wall. +5psi will have more of an effect in a 30 profile tyre than it will in a 55 profile tyre. This is where the difference comes from with 4*4's. Large profile tyres, thus the increase in pressure is negligible. Given that the same tyre might be fitted to different vehicles (different axle wirghts) then obviously there will not be a standard cover all pressure for that tyre. So, with the same tyre on each vehincel. say putting 38psi in a Shogun and 34psi in a Defender may give you the same footprint. Bit faffy to work out the right pressure based ons tyre size and axle weight but everything is related. The OP suggested addiging additional pressure to wahat I (possibly wrongly) assumed were standard tyres. If this is the case then I still stand by what I said. If the the tyres are STANDARD for the vehicle and the manufacturer of the car says upto 35psi then stick to it (+/- 2psi for atmospheric differences and/or a c**p pressure gaugue)
  2. You should not really over inflate road tyres. If you do you distort the shape of the tyre footprint; the part of the the that contacts the road. Essentialy the centre of the tyre is rounded out and the footprint is reduced. The reduced footprint means that less of the tyre is in contact with the road. Less contact equels less drag hence why you get an increase in MPG. However be warned- a smaller footprint means handling will suffer, in particular braking. The size of the tyre fitted to your car has been calculated to give a good balance between it's weight and power so that the footprint is sufficient to make it handle and more importantly stop in time. Given that's is coming to winter I would want all the grip I can get thanks. Added to that the tyre will wear faster so is it really worth it? Plus if plod finds out, proberbly after you were involved in a crash because you could not stop in time, be ready for a thick ear and to be assigned the balme! FYI - a standard road tyre can withstand upwards of 150 psi before it goes bang. However, I seriously suggest you do not try it. Look on YouTube instead
  3. That was not my understanding. If I recall correctly, and please do correct me if I'm wrong, but the gun is concidered 'Section 2' if the magazine holds no more than two cartridges for which the gun is chambered for. Therefore, if 3.5" chamber then 7" of magazine is legal. Just because you can put three smaller cartridges in there of say 3*2 1/3" does not make it section 1 if you load them. Its a bit of a loophole in the law. Saying that, will a 3.5" gun actualy cycle cartridges less than 2 2/3? Edit - sorry HDAV, you amended your post to this effect before I poseted this response
  4. sorry for the rushed post but a sumif should do the job nested in a function to average it out. Have a look on here (added bonus is it's about booze to keep u interested). http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/sum-if.htm have a go but if your struggling dropme a pm and I'll have a look in the morning. Pub time now
  5. Youll always get a bit of carbon build up in the turbo. Its only when this gets too much that the car will drop in to limp mode. A good clean will sort it, but beware - the stealers will try telling you that you need a new turbo instead of cleaning it. Its just easier for them. Thats why a good thrash every now and again is good for them to shift all the c**p out. They may just be saying its starting to build up a bit, so without looking its hard to say. when the car uses the oil for fuel, the oil thats got past the bearings, then yes your right - you have to stall it to save the engine. But leading up to this you should notice your car starting touse more and more oil. That and blue smoke on start-up, so you do get a bit of warning. as for the BMW's; the old vacume controlled turbos were rubbish, they failed all the time. The newer electronicaly controlled ones installed from 06/03 were better. The only thing that let them down was the crank case breather. BMW updated the breather to a vortex one later in 06 I think. That helped prolong the turbo by not blocking so easily. Thing is, even though they charge £300+ for an inspection they NEVER change the crank case breather. You have to ask for this and pay more for it. You should get it changed every 40k on all cars really.
  6. Personaly I would not worry until it does goes. As said, all turbos whine. When it goes you will know by the big ploom of smoke to get from the exhaust. The vanes they mentioned are the ones that control the geometry of the turbo inake to make it spool up faster at lower revs. A good Italian tune is required every now and again. A good blast on a quiet road to clear it's throat usualy does the trick As for the judder it could be any number of things. If the injectors have been checked then have a look at the egr valve. I can't remember if their vacume or electronic on the vag engine but if their vacume check the hoses. A bad vacume on the egr can cause that kind of judder.
  7. Me too! You know you should not watch it because is gluteny (?) at its best, but its so compelling, jus cannot stop watching it. Mind you, some of the dishes he eats look yummy! Just have to remember not to watch it after I have had tea already or I end up raiding the fridge!
  8. For a PW addict I am shocked I missed your post, appologies. Is that the one where the 'walnut' looks like its a laminate? Iv'e seen some shcokers. If so, sorry, but I don't think I could live with it. Any other offers?
  9. Thanks for the advice. I'll have a look now and see what they got. Usually out that way anyways so might drop in next time I'm out there
  10. Right then boys and girls, I'm after a 12g semi auto on a SGC and have up to 300 beer tokens to throw at it. I would prefer syntehtic stock but will concider wood depending on whats on offer and the price. I've been watching out for weeks on here but seems someone always beats me to it when a good one turns up. Im based at Jct 37 of the M1 and I dont mind traveling 50ish miles. Anyone got something along these lines taking up room?
  11. I have both lamps and cookers from Coleman. The rubber cup on the pump tends to split after a while/no oil. Really easy to replace. No need to buy a new lamp/cooker. Spares are easy to get from any camping/outdoor store, just not Blacks. They tell you 'cant be done, buy a new one' - a**se!! If not try flebay. Usualy can pick up the pump with new seal for a tenner. Little field trick is to take the pump out and run a liberal amount of vasaline round the edge fo rht pump cup. Usually this works for a little while, certainly enough to get the all importnant brew on!!!
  12. Hi Swiss. Very interested and your only down the road from me I've got my own guns and have been honing my shot on the clays so can't wait to get ot in the field. Defnatly put me down for a day. Got a little op in a few weeks so not gonna be able to get out till the end of october so it might just fall right put me down and let me know when the numbers are good
  13. Thanks for the heads up, not looked at that greenpois0n before, usually use the likes of Sn0wbreeze or redsn0w. God damn Apple and their hypocritical ways! Tenner says Steve Jobs' iPhone is jailbroken or altleast not limited to the contents of the appStore. Its the only thing that lets this great bit of kit down for me. Its mine, I own it. My hard earned paid for it so let me do what I want with it! its not illegal so stop telling me what I can and cannot do GRRRRRRRR
  14. I also spent quite a few hours last Sunday trying to sort one of my mates out that was on 4.1. As apple have stopped signing version before it your pretty much screwed to dwongrade it. That is unless you still have the signature from your old version stored elsewhere. He didn't. I thought about trying to use others like mine for example but decided beer and the guitar were a better option just have to wait till 4.1 is jailbroken. Won't be long. Few weeks maybe. I always look on redmondpie, usualy well upto date on there
  15. Defo on the Jailbreaking. What OS is the phone on. If its 4.0.1 or lower its dead easy to jailbreak and there is an application in cydia that unlocks it for you. Its as easy as making a brew. I can't remeber the name of the app but a quick check on Google will bring it up. If your OS is 4.1 or greater then I have some bad news - its a lot more complicated to do. I can go in to the details if you wish but its very long winded and relies on a few factors to make it possible, mainly the phone being jailbroken before it was installed with 4.1. If not then I am not sure its possible until 4.1 has been jailbroken by the 'developers'.
  16. Its quite simple really - No meat, no point! Our bodies need it, and I like it, so there!!! Salad is what food eats - which could explain my waistline. Bring on the mixed grill
  17. Care to PM me the link? thats not a bad price at all
  18. I assume your talking about a desktop given that you have space for another drive? If so then the answer is yes, if theres space, assuming that you have a free port on your motherboard. 2.5 and 3.5 drives use different cables/slots when connected via IDE. You need to have a 3.5 compatable slot or space on an exisiting cable to add it as a slave. If its SATA then you usually link 1 drive to each port. If you have a free SATA port on the motherboard then there is no issues, just need to rememebr to set the jumbers right (if applicable). You may need to change the jumpers on the current drive to make the slave work right depnding on your configuration (RAID).
  19. Depends on what you want to do really. If you only want to open a .daa file then the basic version will do. If you want to edit or create .daa files then you will obviously need a differnt one. Suggest you download the free version (if still on that link) and see if it does what you want.
  20. Power ISO - www.poweriso.com/downloads DAA works a bit like .rar files.

    deadliest catch

I have already watched this series in the states. Its not until episode 5 or 6 that it happens. They do labour the 'event' somewhat in the episodes leading up to it, you will see what I mean, but I'll not say anymore so as not to spoil it (if thats the right wording in this context) for you. They know how to tug on those strings
  22. I had exatly same same issue not so long ago. Spoke to the FEO who was more than happy with what I was doing. Mount it above the skirting board (no need to cut it then) on an external wall. Have some extra long M12 bolts drilled through the plasterboard and into the blocks behind it. I then fixed these in with the expanding metal plugs. Its solid. The only way they are coming out is either undoing them from inside the cabiner or maybe curtting the bolts in the gap between the plasterboard and the blocks, thoguh that would be one hell of a job, especialy given where the cabinet is. The FEO was more than happy.
  23. I'm seeing a theme here. I too was lumped with a 16euro bill per half litre of Heinekan ***te on the Champse elysee (i think thats how you spell it). Damn rip off surrender monkeys. And its not like its good beer - more like cabonated urine. Then again, try as I might, just can't find a real ale over there. Suppose its just too much for the wimps!
  24. Long shot, but is there a firewall installed on the PC? If so are you sure that its not that thats been 'accidentaly' told to lock down the web but still retained permissions for Outlook? I have had this issue before where users who are not familiar with the firewall. Its popped up asking permission for some access and the user has denied it, telling it to remember that option The end result - no web access. I only discovered it when, as a last resort, I turned off the firewall. All mended now of course. Regards
