  4. What a hectic 2 days that has been, full of drama and crisis. On the first day we went for partridge, but with a 20 mile an hour s w wind blowing it made things a little difficult to say the least must have walked about 10 miles from one strip of maize to the next. Somany partridge got up out of them it was unbelivable but the birds would get up and fly off with the wind up thier tails within a couple of seconds they would be gone. On the tally front we only had one partridge for the day, guess whos bird caught it. I thought they would have to take me to hospital to have the smile surgecly removed from my face, but it didnt last long my bird got ill and we had to finnish early to get back to the lodge to get the bird seen to after about an hour at the lodge and some tlc the bird sterted to pick up and hes fine now. On the pigeon front there were a lot of birds flying about nothing on the rape but quite a few on the strips of maize. Will tell about the second day when we went for pheasants later, that was a much better day..

  14. I use 31 g no 6 for everything but geese and as long as you stick to a reasonable range you should find you will kill consistently. Remember its pattern that kills, if you have a good pattern at 30 to 35 mtrs with a particuler type of cart;Stick with it because you will end up with more in the bag in the long run.
