  1. You watch, come december they'll change the web page and con all the kids into thinking its santas bloody sleigh LOL
  2. Yes, put it in a carrier bag though or people might give you stange looks as you walk down the road with a kettle.
  3. Ahh, Cheers. At least we now know it's still up there.......you sure it was above the clouds and not hurtling towards us with some panicky Russian inside screaming whilst trying to get a parachute on LOL
  4. Wot's an "ISS"?....is it a flying snake LOL
  5. Driving Lamps are different, as they serve a diferent purpose and are mounted in a particular location on the vehicle accordingly.....in totally different position to Fog lamps BTW. However, they have to extinguish upon the dipped or main beam being switched on and are perfectly legal to use during the day time in clear driving conditions.....As indeed you say, they come on automatically when the engine is started, but operate as stated previously. Fog lights being used when road conditions are clear or dictate that their use is unnecessary on the other hand is not legal as they tend to dazzle oncoming and leading traffic.
  6. Side lights n fog lights on at the at the same time......when there's no fog
  7. I wish they wouldn't use them along with their poxy front fog lights "'cos it make me motah look kewl...init"... merchant bankers
  8. Puts a whole new meaning on keeping a shovel in the boot this winter eh LOL
  9. That's good then.....fingers crossed
  10. pretty sure you'll come unstuck regarding the Air Rifle as under the VCR act it should have been locked away in a secure place.....I doubt the insurers or the Police would say outside in a shed is a suitable location for storing an Air Rifle. Best of luck with your claim though.
  11. According to A mate who's just bought an 07 plate TDV6 the early ones had problems with the oil pump casings which can fail, Causing catastrophic engine damage to the tune of £9k. They were later redesigned on the late 3's & 4's. My mate, being uncertain as to whether his oil pump casing was a replacement one or still the early one has had it changed along with his timing & injection belts for his own peace o mind.....the part costs around £60 from Landrover.
  12. I you didn't know that the magazine in question was about shooting...someone might be mistaken or thinking that "Pull" Magazine" was a paper version of a dating site offering hints n tips on how to get laid. Then again, judging by the OP's description of what's in the picture maybe it is and the subject is dangling his worm hoping a bird might fancy a nibble LOL
  13. Personally I'd tell her to mind her own business and get a life of her own and stop interfering with your affairs. She's a kilometre away from your shoot so unless someone is telling her when you are there she must have amazing hearing.
  14. can you claim for mileage and put the fuel receipts in as well or is that taking the pee?
  15. That's shocking Mate....Never mind the screaming & shouting, I'd be kicking some ***** around the workshop if someone did that to my motor. and then tear 'em a new one
  16. How odd....That's exactly what i do at MOT time as well. Unless i can fix anything myself beforehand. I can't do with warning lights illuminated on the dash, so always make sure everything works as it should.
  17. I'm well aware of the resetting of them....I had a 3 series BMW and the service warning had to be reset by the mechanic after the service was complete with the diagnostic computer. The trouble with a lot of modern cars is that they have sensors all over the engine monitoring all manner of things and it only takes a hiccup to upset one and bingo...EML comes on. Problem then is that most if not all owners don't have the diagnostic code readers to see what happened. It's definitely worth joining a forum dedicated to your particular make of car...can save loads of money. I now drive a Nissan Terrano Tdi and have been a member of Nissan 4x4 owners club since owning it and have saved loads of money by finding out how to repair things myself. Touch wood, I've never had the EML come on my truck, but if it does i've got the diagnostic code reader and codes to tell me what the problem is.
  18. Not necessarily...the new checks are there because systems such as stability control, ABS etc are commonplace on most modern vehicles...so by having them as a testable MOT item it ensures that decent vehicle owners are maintaining their cars properly. A warning light coming on is indication of a fault......if there wasn't a problem....the light wouldn't come on would it?
  19. Locking your wheels under heavy braking will not slow you down because your tyres are no longer gripping the road surface. Also with locked wheels you have no directional control of the vehicle for exactly the same reason. Although ABS systems on brakes wont stop you on there own, The idea is to keep the wheels moving (albeit slower & slower) so that you have control of the vehicle whilst it comes to a halt. The clue is in the name. As for putting the bulbs back in after MOT...read the last para of my previous post.
  20. Good to hear things are turning out for the better and Marlene is back home. Look after Her fella. It's times like this you realise not only how precious life is, but more so how precious those close to you are. All the best for a full and speedy recovery.
  21. Let me get this right....... Some of you are advocating that taking the bulbs out on dashboard warning lights on a car so it passes the MOT is ok. That seems ludicrous to me....Those lights come on for a reason.....To tell you, the driver that there is something wrong with the car that in some cases may affect its safety either to you or worse other road users. Taking the bulb out on an ABS or Air bag system so it's not spotted could in worst case scenario prove fatal if you can't stop because the ABS didn't work, then when you hit something your Air bag fails to save you or your passengers....and all because you'd rather take the bulbs out than get the car fixed. but to hell with that eh...let's just bung the mechanic a fiver to get the mot and blindly carry on driving a defective vehicle. Just to add tho..... If you do remove warning bulbs on defective systems and have an accident and your car is inspected and those warning lamps are found to have been removed because of defects with the vehicle, I don't thing either the Police or your insurance company will take things lightly. Still think it's worth the risk?
  22. I'll bet they're all on red alert now, Panic buying tins of baked beans, strutting around dressed head to toe in camou, practising tactical hand signals and mock military style manoeuvres and getteing ready to hunker down in the hills because Kin jong diddly doo dah has his finger on the button. " c'mon jim-bob I want that M16 stripped and cleaned in two minutes....we still got A hundred chilli dogs to pack and mama is point...."
  23. Frenchieboy.....You stay strong for your Wife and we'll stay strong for you both.... Sincerely hope your Wife makes a speedy recovery.
