  1. I might be able to help - will make some enquiries tomorrow
  2. Beretta optima's are threaded at the top, no probs there but maybe, as you say, the tolerances are better - but I don't get any issues with chokes working loose on either my new silver pigeon or my hatsan semi which has performed faultlesly for me!
  3. Crikey, didn't know some areas weren't digi yet!!! I would wait until the 21st then set about sorting the issue. I have Sky, but my Mum doesn't and first phase of the roll out she had a few stations. Second phase had more, but would still loose or gain some on retunes, very odd. I ended up fitting a powered signal booster (like eBay item 280818334414) and bob's your uncle, more channels then ever before and that's on a 33 year old aerial in the roofspace. New aerials aren't required.
  4. Indeed - you do say any size or configuration!!! Good luck with the hunt
  5. Just a bottle of Cobra beer - on call so can't have more!
  6. Have a brattonsound 2 gun break down - ad in the for sale section, and willing to post
  7. I have a brattonsound 2 gun breakdown cabinet for sale. Got it second hand to use for keeping my carts in but I have never mounted it and to be honest I don't think I will use it for various reasons. Good nick, has the foam dividers in it, only 1 set of keys for the 2 locks, after my money back at £65. Willing to post at buyers cost, or collection from near Exeter or can meet locally by arrangement. Pics on request as yet to take some but will add them asap, but it's the same as this: http://www.deepblueshooting.com/products/gun-safes/brattonsound-sb2-sentinel-2-gun-break-down.html Please PM me if interested cheers, Richard
  8. Amazes me (well, no it doesn't I spose) that loads of people rang the Police about it - erm, what were they to do about it??
  9. I've used tru oil on my silver pig 1, as I wasn't happy with the factory finish which was rather sparse! I found a few streaks at first, but repeated application, with enough time bewteen applications for the prior coat to dry / be absorbed (usually overnight) soon sorted that out. I use a normal household duster cloth to apply, just pressing it against the top of the bottle and tipping it up and back again, nothing as much to create runs. I have put on about 8 coats so far and the wood has darkened nicely and I'm much happier with it. Yours may take more due to it being stripped right down?
  10. Was told it renders them useless when I had some to take.
  11. In the South West, having a meter fitted on a rated house then means you have a year to change your mind and revert back to rates, and use that time to assess if your saving money by having it fitted - not sure what region you are in and what they offer though (on phone internet so can't see profile) I currently pay just shy of 60 a month on rates, and its going up (again) in April, so am going to be doing the above.
  12. Toughy for me - born and bred in Devon and lived here for 33 years so may be biased!? I enjoy a week in Cornwall now and again, St Ive's, Rock, Padstow and the little pubs tucked into small villages and cove's, I enjoy the vibe and get away with the family, but for 'outsiders' I would say Devon over Cornwall for an overall range of things to do and see, especially if you are going to be with your own transport, there's nowhere in Cornwall beyond a reasonable drive for a day trip anyway. There are plenty of places to stay on the north coast near the County boundaries to give you the best of everything
  13. Think my Mrs got bored of waiting for me to ask, so she asked me on my birthday
  14. I know the chances of asking for a permission and getting one on here is like finding a bag of frozen chicken lips in Tesco's, so I won't ask! However, I am itching to get out and watch, learn and absorb the experience of decoyed or walked up vermin, and would appreciate any chances to join someone in Devon or nearby in adjacent counties and watch / help / pick up / learn what's what / or even have the chance to shoot also. I am a 33 year old local government officer, basc member, shoot clays as often as I can and am part of a small local pheasant syndicate on a walked up flush basis - I would say I am a very trustworthy and sensible person! If youre maybe able to help with the above, please send me a PM with details - as said, happy to sit watch and learn, help carry kit, pick up, whatever - I'll draw a line at some point though Cheers, Richard
  15. Good job on getting it fixed - now whack in a claim for loss of earnings for the 2 appointments they didn't show up for. As soon as my 12m contract with BT was up (had to have line reconnected) I was off, so many bad experiences with them, I won't deal with them (directly) ever again, although they do keep trying, even ringing to try and get me to switch back, when they ask why, I tell 'em straight!
  16. Been and had a nose about and chat with the farmer (via work for work related issues) and laid enough hints, which he picked up on, but himself and his son shoot it (but obviously not enough) so further 'encouragement' needed! Thanks for the advise, think I will keep my eyes open for a suitable .22 or .177 air rifle
  17. Hi chaps, I know of a farmer who has an issue with rabbits, and I am thinking that I should offer him my 'services' to assist in their control. However, I only have a SGC and shotgun, and am wondering how best to go about using it to maximum effect? Obviously I know that it is capable of killing the animal, but would it be sensible approach? Is it going to be a case of 1 shot and the rest run and hide due to the noise? Should I be considering obtaining a non fac air rifle rather than trying to use a shotgun? FAC isnt really an option for me. Will be grateful for advise! Cheers Richard
  18. Ah - some real dogs Here's mine, called Ozzie, we have recently rehomed him as his owners weren't able to give him the attention they felt he deserved. Cracking dog of about 18 months age, rather calm for a JRT at times, he loves a cuddle on the sofa and a sleep in front of the fire, but show him something he wants and he is typical JRT - chases squirrels like nobodies business, but am yet to be of the stage to let him loose, confident that he will come back when called, but have been teaching him the basic's and he certainly knows how to 'dispatch'! (apologies's for the poor picture quality as it's taken on phone)
  19. Got myself a mk3 hatsan escort last week for peanuts, once you sit down with it in bits it's not so daunting and easy to put back together, cleaning is a diddle too
  20. My Astra GTE also met a similar fate - cornering was DEFO not an attribute to those cars! My fave car I have owned - without a doubt my old Evo 6 Still wish I had it now, but sold up for varying reasons, not least the fuel costs (hey, it was 'tinkered' with and had neigh on 400bhp so had to be driven)
  21. It didn't blow up, jam once, or kill me, and upon taking it apart earlier it obviously hasn't been cleaned for a few cartridges which people beleive cause issues - quietly impressed!
