  1. I'm in exactly the same boat, waiting I On my variation for a .243 to come back, I have looked at everything around the price range Howa, Browning x bolt and A bolt, steyr, remmington 770 and 700 and I think I'm going for the tikka t3 lite, hot with one last week half in groups at 100 yards no problem and I'm a novice
  2. I just picked a pair up this afternoon and have wide feet, they fit spot on I just picked a pair up this afternoon and have wide feet, they fit spot on
  3. Just to let you know John Norriss have just had a delivery of Harkilla GTX mountain hunt boots in stock reduced to £105, seem like a bargain to me I went and picked a pair up today, they have only got limited numbers so be quick.
  4. I normally put 'To protect hearing and avoid noise disturbance' no problems at all
  5. According to the bbc weather looks like we are alright up here in Cumbria
  6. Agreed with M.I.A I'd try and squeak it in closer, at 75metres You couldn't be sure of a clean kill with any cartridge in my opinion

    Snow

We are getting in out on the Solway near Carlisle which is unusual we very rarely get snow
  8. 4 with the .22lr and a fox with the .243 on Monday Night Total 191
  9. You will definitely need your permissions in writing on a first application
  10. I'll be around all mine with a bottle and card on Friday even though I've only got two fields off some of them you never know what the future holds
  11. There is a good video showing Mark Gilchrist somewhere showing how to make them in a simple way, might be on field sports tv...worth a watch
  12. Hi all looking at booking my DSC 1 for early next year, thing is my knowledge is very limited and wondered if anyone had a copy of the manual they would be willing to pass on or sell so i could have read and get an idea of what level of knowledge is required before I shell out £300 for the course. Cheers Andy
  13. I had the same last week when it was windy, lads with dogs all over one of my permissions, soon moved on when i drove across the fields in the jeep with lamp and spotlights on
  14. Have tried shiply and had one quote back at £70 which I think is excessive to be honest, looking on ebay people are selling load liners and charging in the region of £20 for delivery
  15. I have agreed to buy a load liner for the back of the Fourtrak as I'm turning it into a van and removing the back seats, The liner is in Reading and i need to get it to Carlisle it is smaller than a typical liner for a pick up bed, Boot liner size is length 52.5" and width 51". Has anyone got any idea of a company who I could get to pick it up, tried various websites like ups, parcel force, dhd etc and they are coming out ridiculous.
  16. Went last night with the .22 as the wind was pretty strong here 5 hours later not a shot fired, popped out for 10 minutes tonight while waiting for my tea and shot 2..work that one out
  17. This gun is a bargain for someone, If I didnt already have my 17hmr I would snap this up, if I thought it would still be here I would take a chance putting a variation in for a second HMR as a dedicated night vision gun
  18. I have a cz 452 in .22lr which and there will always be a space in the cabinet for it but I also have a Sako Quad in 17hmr and I think it is superb, better build quality than the cz great if your out for bunnies and Charlie pops his head head up at suitable range. I must add I would have it as a dedicated fox rifle I have a 22-250 for that but it certainly is a good tool.
  19. Same here went to two permissions last night hardly a rabbit anywhere, did find some with myxy a few weeks back though may have wiped a few out
  20. Well done sounds like you did well, and yes your right it does become addictive!
  21. The scope mount that comes with the tracer just pushes onto the barrell behind the moderator and a cable tie secures it if needed, will have a look for any pics for you
  22. Whilst I was waiting for my FAC to come through I got my first good rabbit permission at a golf course. The green keeper was initially hard work to get permission from as he'd had dozens of lads in the past get permission and not put the work in so I really needed to make a good impression by getting stuck in straight away. I used a Baikal 410 moderated with 3" carts and a deben tracer clamped to the top of the barrel and it worked a treat as long as you got within sensible range.
