30-06 is spot on for fox .....and rabbit cant dissagree with that B) but some how i dont think i would have shot that many, dont think they would be around for long after the first BLAST with a 180grn popping out the muzzle :yp:

B) Time for a variation i think :yp: Miss understood, my fault. I do have enough of a variation for fox but only saw rabbits on that permision.my 22.250 didnt get used. If the land was ok i could have gone up to 30.06 but i think maybe a tad on the big size for fox dont you think and loud enough to wake the neighbours :o Not out tonight. the Bloomin clutch has gone on my motor. not a happy bunny

sounds simple doesnt it!!! you said "some" pigs-- kill one and the others will soon get anoyed with you, believe me you dont want to get a little piggy annoyed. you may find out that it isnt as easy as you think, i wouldnt attempt it. without the propper equipment.

I didnt realise that the group i shot was covered with black spots i thought i shot the target below til i noticed the group under the black dots, i covered them with a 1 pence piece. good for 200yds "steve b" i could do that, but they have different primers, different neck size & depth & different brass altogether thanks for the tip though

Not making excuses for missing any but it doesnt help having a **** load mixed up with good.

went out early evening for a bit of long range rabbiting ( well long for me any way) just got these 2, 1st one was 198 yds the 2nd was 196 i missed a 3rd but put that down to ammo got a rite mix at the mo, was intending to get rid of them at Bisley

My new addition "Browning A Bolt" wasnt sure wether to get the 308 or the 30.06 so thought big is best so went for the 30.06 Just for you "miffy"

personaly i would not use any other than a good manufactured case lube. having had a few stuck its a rite PITA getting stuck cases out of a full length die by the way i am changing from 1 Shot ASAP waiting for suggestions too

it is interesting reading when folk do reviews, BUT at the end of the day its the round that will group consistantly that will be the choice you must make. If you do have a rifle that will have the sam POI with any make of 17 ammo, well good, You will probably find quite a variation between makes though. Enjoy the testing dougy
