I saw the 'head' middle left, but it looks the wrong shape for a leopard. Too round and wide?

Let me know where, when you find #16! http://www.viralnova.com/camouflaged-animals/

I had an older one (2005). Great van to drive, 35 mpg on average, better on a good run and it was pretty reliable, nothing major....right up to the point where the gearbox imploded. It's a known fault and allegedly rectified on later models, I believe around the '08 mark. I'd have another but newer one.

Sorry, being PW I automatically assumed it was a negative comment . It's surprisingly easy to stop someone who isn't expecting a strategised response....get's a bit more interesting if you're both adopting a similar approach! Only happened once and seeing as I lived and socialised around South London and Croydon in particular for quite a while, that's a surprise even to me. When we both realised what was going on, we fairly quickly decided it was best to walk away...which is always the best result anyway.

Oh gonads! Static week this week, no loss or gain....was a bit lax over the weekend and had maybe a couple too many beers! Dammit!!!

For once Charlie, I envy you. There is absolutely no way I'd walk out of the house in sunny Brighton at any time of the day or night and not lock it. Same goes for the car. I'd politely suggest that would be valid across most UK towns and cities.

Trouble is that they do, well can, suffer variations. My regulated AA 510 chronos higher with Bisley Mags than with AirArms fields.

Every day's a school day! Cheers gents!

Perfectly aware of that mate, and perfectly aware of how to slow people down quickly.

Really? Is there a shrub ivy then as this is definitely a large bush and not climbing? Also, is ivy not toxic? I don't think they were roosting, too early, too warm and wind free.

I ask as I spooked about 40 pigeons out of them when dog walking yesterday.

I have to say, I destroyed a SLOSH30 in fairly short order. IMO they are adequate for inshore reefing and light wrecking, but not deep wrecking with big baits and big fish. I love the Penns and have 3 525's for heavy beach work, and I've used a 535 for wrecking but once gain, I'd be concerned using it at 100metres plus on a 40lb cod.

My Shimano TR 2000LD has never let me down and had some good conger on it. Thoroughly recommended. Can get one for about 120 now if you hunt for it. https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/shimano-charter-special-tr2000ld-p-825.html

I'm sure the Faroe islanders believe theirs to be the best way of killing the whales. I'm not quite sure how you go about killing whales to be honest. I understand there is a newer method of achieving the same thing a bit quicker, but assume cost to be an issue there, it still severs the spine and blood supply. This is kinda the thrust of my thinking, try as hard as most do, we all (but especially shotgunners) get runners. We accept it as part and parcel, I use a dog to minimise any potential suffering, but plenty will still consider that to be not good enough and inhumane. Is what many are condemning the Faroese of, really that much different?

If you don't want to debate, why bother to post? As far as I can see there's nothing in my post that should get you in trouble, so long as you are big enough to avoid the name calling and just debate the points. By the way, keyboard warrior goes under the heading of name calling and I've been here plenty long enough to have outgrown that tag.

Right, just read that, and nowhere can I see where anyone's saying that the power output is regulated. A few people are saying that the power output is the same regardless of pellet, surely the only way that can be done is by regulating the amount of air released as I suggested. They all seem to be suggesting that there would be some variation with different weights, basically a heavier pellet pushed out of the barrel with the same amount of air will be travelling a bit slower, but being heavier it will carry more energy at POI. It's the correlation between the two. Why else would you need to put a pellet weight into a chrono when power testing?

Do you shoot live at all? If so your ground is getting wetter. Please don't try and tell me you shoot just because you like rabbit/pigeon.

Could be worse. If I point at something and close my left eye it's 3 " off to the right, if I close my right eye, its 1" off to the left. It's amazing that I can walk in a straight line!

I'm not saying anything. You were the one who suggested every householder should have a shotgun. I just pointed out that would just mean everyone could have a shotgun, kinda negating the threat. You were also the one who said that breaking two legs with a fence post was excessive, but that it was OK to shoot them in the legs with your shotgun. I just pointed out the contradiction and suggested it might not be as easy as you might hope to shoot someone without potentially upping the ante and killing them. It's not the 60's anymore, you can't leave your door unlocked, or let your kids play out late in the dark anymore, time to drag yourself forward 50 years. I'm all for self defence mate, but don't get me wrong, put me in a position where I feel it necessary to physically defend myself or my family, swift and effective will be the keywords. Minimum damage to my opponent will not.

Interesting, I thought the regulators regulated the amount of air released per shot to keep the power the same as the reserve depletes. I didn't know they could 'sense' the pellet weight being used.
-
If you're accurate, 9.5 grains is plenty enough. Airgunning is 90% shot placement. Hit your target in the right place at a sensible range, it will be killed.
-
It's inhumane is it? In the RSPCA's opinion? Not a huge surprise there, they don't like foxes getting shot. In your opinion? Ok, you're entitled to that. I do hope you don't shoot anything live though, let alone God forbid, p r i c k a bird or beast, plenty would see that as inhumane. Doesn't seem to be worrying the Danes too much, or come to that most of Europe. I see lots of animal cruelty activists getting all het up, but not a lot of response from any official body. Edied as the swear filter doesn't like P R I C K, understandable but the word has plenty of acceptable uses.

Seems the dolphin cull has generated quite a lot of hysteria, and while I know that 99% of what is on Facebook et al is BS and propaganda, I do believe the cull's a bit like bull fighting, in as much as it's outdated and unnecessary, but as a hunter I know that's maybe sailing a bit close to the wind too. I'm interested in other peoples views. Link attached for some background... http://www.hoax-slayer.com/denmark-whaling.shtml
