Too easily done mate. The four day weekend cost me a 3lb increase, working hard to nail that back again! Will be weighing tomorrow to see if it was enough!
-
Yeah, that'll be it no doubt. Sounds about right, 10% difference in weight equating too 10% difference in shot count. It may only be 30 pellets, but most often it's considerably fewer than 30 pellets hitting the bird. I'd much rather have that 10% than not!
-
Shot placement is always important, agreed. But AFAIAC, I'll quite happily take that extra 3g thanks. It's like saying there's no difference between a 28 and 32g cart. Put in the right place both SHOULD do the job, so why do people opt for the more expensive bigger load?

In your opinion. I disagree. I used to live in London town, and had a commute through town which i did on a motorbike. It initially had a factory fitted system, but I removed the can and fitted an aftermarket, noisier (but still road legal) option. The difference it made was astonishing! All of a sudden I could see peoples eyes flicking up to their mirrors, people pulled over more frequently, sometimes in and sometimes out to block me but hey! At least they knew I was there! That was because all of a sudden they could hear me. That said, I still ride, but not through a packed city. A lot of my riding now is done in the Kent/Sussex/Hampshire/Dorset countryside. Now a loud exhaust only serves to annoy those living in the villages I pass through...I am now running standard 'quiet' exhausts. Time and place, and a purpose for loud exhausts in my opinion.

10% of the load, could well be significant no?

You don't ride do you. One of the big points about riding is the joys of being able to trickle past stationary traffic, often as not with a half asleep commuter in it. The OP got it wrong patently, but no, he shouldn't have to wait in a queue, sheep like, it's one of the privileges biking brings....along with riding in the rain, and having half asleep commuters trying to kill you, not to mention the a-holes who don't like the fact that you can filter so deliberately pull across to try and block your progress. If you don't want to queue, you don't have to. Just get out of the tin box and onto two wheels.

There's undertaking and undertaking. A motorway or even dual carriageway undertake when the OSLOC are out in force and you can legally travel within the speed limits in the inside lane...while the outside does 15 mph less, is perfectly legitimate and I'll do it all day long. Up the inside of a car in an urban setting is risky at best, and on the ZigZags plain illegal, be it stationary or not.

Horses for courses mate. I went out to buy a Silver Pigeon and came back with a 525. I have big hands so the grips suit me and it came into the shoulder better for me.

Shooting wanted, near Louth, Lincolnshire
-Mongrel- replied to JMW's topic in Shooting/Ferreting/Beating Wanted
With all due respect to you fella, there's a lot of shooters on here who have had bad experiences with taking people out on their shoots. As such you will find that ANYBODY with land to shoot over will be extremely cautious about who they invite to shoot over that land with him, and to be honest, someone who the 'forum' has no knowledge of but has initially come on here asking for free shooting is not a rarity and likely to get short shrift anyway. Somebody like MM with a extensive posting history has A, been on here for quite a while, which B, will have allowed people to judge whether he is a Walt or not which in turn gives people the opportunity to get a feel for the fella and make a judgement from there. In a similar vein, you coming on here and spouting off at an old hand will not have done your online image here much good either. Great second post. -
Mmmmmm, twin forty-fives and K&N's!

At what age are you "an old Man" ? Today, 44 would be the number!!! Still perve at the fitties though!

I'll take it, you have PM.

Barley field finally drilled but nothing about

Tough at the moment. We definitely have pigeons hitting rape, but maybe only 100. Walk them off, set up, a pair come in, one doesn't leave, the other 99 do, not to be seen again for the rest of that day. ...return and repeat. -
Does this only happen once per trip? ie, you start, it plays around, then clears and is ok for the rest of the journey?
-
It's taking me a while to look at all the suggestions, I will get through them, and thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm going to build a small info-site with probably a contact page etc for a new enterprise I'm venturing into. I plan to basically self build a site and then get it optimised so, can anyone suggest a good, effective option that will allow me to do the above without getting tied into a 'package' and/or raped by the hosting fees. Might also want to link an email address to the site/company name. Suggestions? Blinking heck! Title should read 'website' obviously!

That's Dennis Stepney and co isn't it? If so, last time I approached them about some gunsmithing work they were 3 times the price that I got the work done for quite adequately. I don't mind paying good money for good work, but that seemed somewhat steep.
-
Have you personally used him and seen his work on stock alterations? Really keen to get his done once and right the first time.
-
Nobody? Ok, I'll settle for a little further out?

Every shop I've been in, have been quite happy for you to handle and shoulder the shotguns, break them and peer down the barrels etc. Probably only had to ask for something not immediately to hand, or the phone rang or whatever. It'd only take a few seconds to drop a cartridge in, close it, stick it under your chin and pull the trigger.

IF it is whats killing the bees off though, its got to be worth investigating.

Evening, Looking to get the Browning professionally fitted, I want to use someone who will fit it, and then undertake the alterations. Needs to be in the South East, ideally within an hour of Brighton, Sussex please.

Catamong is good, and I, like many others wondered what a 'pigeon blasterian' was.
