Agreed, the daughter is watching it. To make life easier, it's this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EmkXCYFd5Kc Scrap that, the answer is in the comments below....YAY!!!

Anybody watching, just watched the owl stare out AND...know what the piece of piano music was? Heard it a few days ago as well and it's driving me nuts!!!!

Ah, well, you say that but... I was pulled on the M27 earlier in the year by an unmarked but ANPR equipped traffic copper. He told me that the vehicle appeared to be uninsured, it turned out to be case of data input error at the insurance company, the registration was one digit out. Corrected there and then and I went on my way. It transpired that two months later, when the tax ran out and I tried to do an online renewal, that the MOT had run out three months prior. My fault for not checking but I was under the impression that it had 10 months tax when I bought it which was longer than the tax so....I didn't check it, immaterial I know, but....surely the copper should have known that when he pulled me for no tax?

All FB spam is easily enough blocked to be honest,as it comes in. -
Sorry, you're right, and I knew what I meant even if I failed to type it , cylinder it is.

Agreed, to be honest, morally there is no difference. If it's causing a real problem and the best solution is population control then it needs controlling....if it's legal to do so.

I have sent you PM re taking the full choke, thanks.

What? Sod that! I'll stick with me 200Tdi methinks!

It's not a gas hob, it turns out it was a cooker so is on a flexi. Our man is also correct in regard to working on YOUR OWN gas, the regs only state you must be competent... That said, I defy anybody who isn't gas qualified to carry out gas work, to the letter of the regulations, on their own installation. Quick one for the DIY'ers out there. How many of you, who would be prepared to work on your own gas supply, own a temporary continuity bond, or even know what one is?

So, with a few days off and the weather not looking conducive to refurbing the 'tip' trailer, I thought I might have a go at making some wire cradles. As such, rather than buying some just to get a pattern, can anyone give me some dimensions or better still drawings/plans for cradles.... ...please!

If it was just a case of being pushed for time, the bloke was a berk, and yes that is my professional opinion. Ours is a service industry, you need to give good service.

Domestic Heating Engineers.....Advice Please,

BE BRAVE! What's the worst that could happen? Well, other than tearing the cylinder and rendering it scrap, instigating an emergency replacement! To be fair, I have only torn one in 27 years. If the boiler still works though, maybe wait until the shops reopen! By the time you add the 'Approved Installer' extended 7 year warranty, unbeatable in my opinion. -
Looking at the figures so far, IF this is truly representative and honest, I believe that would give UKIP a clear majority and control of the House of Commons if it came down to it would it not? As I understand it, one party needs to win more than half of the available seats, so with 67% of the vote, it's a UKIP government..... I know the post referred to the European Elections but extrapolate the figures and that's what I'd read into it. How representative of the country are the members of PW do we think?

He may not have any for the cooker, but he's tested the carcass and meter so now has some responsibility as to it's condition. What did?
-
You can choose to believe this if you like, but, in my experience, the general public always associate gamekeepers with game shoots and game shoots with shooters. The buzzards may well need culling, but it's illegal to cull BOP. It's not illegal to cull foxes which is why you don't hear the 'whines' when a fox gets shot.
-
That all depends on the situation, a seized ECV (control valve) means that you can't cap anything because you can't turn the gas off. Would I cap a meter with a newborn baby and mum in the house in Winter? Not if it can be helped in any way.
-
So he didn't test the gas carcass no? Didn't turn the gas off at the meter?
-
The 'frothing' has nothing to do with being anti in any way. It's because every time a rogue keeper does this sort of thing it reflects badly on the WHOLE shooting community, not just 'keepers, and whacks another nail in the coffin. What is it with game shoots? Not all I appreciate, or come to that the majority, but SOME do seem to think they are above the law. Guns using illegal shot on wildfowl (already pretty much conclusively pinned on the game shoots) and their 'keepers illegally killing BOP. I can't think of another area of shooting causing shooters so many headaches!

Interested in the cylinder one, pics please.

Carp! When we go in and carry out work, we are then required to ensure it's gas tight, to do that we would generally test the complete installation. If there is a leak we are duty bound to make it safe, if the pipe, meter or fittings don't comply or aren't sound, we are duty bound to ensure it is made safe...if that means waiting on site for an hour or more for the gas transporters engineer to turn up, then we do it etc, etc. When we fit a gas appliance we are duty bound to check it's safe to use, IF anything isn't and an accident results, guess who the HSE will come after first!

Good boilers, but just edged in my professional opinion by the Vaillants. Tim Kelly also favours them I believe and he is also 'in the trade'. -

Right, to get the immersion out, put the water back on to the cylinder, the pressure will help support the tank. Put the spanner over the immersion heater and hit the handle of it with a hammer, preferably a club hammer. Support/hold the back of the spanner with your free hand when you hit it. This should break the seal and allow you to remove it. as soon as you have got it moving, turn the water off, open the taps and drain, then take the element out. You don't need to hammer it back in...but I always hand tighten, put the water back on and give it a couple of taps. Clean up the copper boss face on the cylinder until its shiny when you fit the new one. -
Just watched it myself. Good watch that and good on him for not just saying he'd like to, but getting out there and doing it!

It's a fairly comprehensive list of charges, can't imagine he'll skip all of them, and if he's guilty he should feel the full force of the law. Current sentencing levels, it would appear, aren't a sufficient deterrent.
