  2. Nice shooting chaps, especilly chard taking the (non-student) honours and maglad looks to be getting good scores every week. No shooting for me today but managed an hour at Coniston on friday afternoon and a bash locally again yesterday. No scoring as it was practise. Looking forward to Llandegla next.....I've dug out my thermals and moon boots.
  3. Yeah, I've been in training. Had a fornight in Antarctica in me shorts and flip flops so I'll be acclimatised.
  4. Been three times and frozen three times.......belting place to shoot though. Just don't try and get up the hill if it's been snowing.
  5. Had another lesson on Saturday down at Llandegla with Beretta and as usual came away very positive after a good day. He gave me lots to think about and work on including where I should be taking the targets, how to adjust lead on those I'm missing and he spotted a problem with my gun mount on right to left targets. He also had traps set up specifically to work with targets I felt I was really struggling with (teal and pretty much anything coming right to left ) which was really very usefull for me. I know it's been said before but anyone thinking of having a lesson should really give him a shout.......excellent tuition with a down to earth bloke at very reasonable prices. I'm planning on more lessons as part of my ongoing struggle to actually be halfway decent.....so I'll probably need a boat load.
  6. Used them all over the years and still have dewalt/makita/bosch now, the best of the bunch at the moment is the Makita Li-Ion. I don't honestly think Li-Ion is all it's cracked up to be by the manufacturers but it is definitely better. It's also lighter, I use the 18v stuff and it's far lighter than my 14.4v Dewalt. Oh and if you're driving biggish screws the impact driver is brill, drives screws really quickly with little rounding out and it's nice and light. You can buy this as a kit with the combi drill/driver or add it later as body only.
  7. Just up the road from me, nice part of the world. Been told the shoot goes on wednesday nights also. Anyone fancies it loet me know and I'll try and meet up.
  8. Congrats B, just checked back in on this thread. Well deserved.
  9. Nah, woods earlier on mate. Seemed to shoot better there than in the open.
  10. Enjoyed myself today at Catton with Beretta and co. Seemed to shoot the first 50 much better than the second 50, ended up with 56 (claiming the extra 1 the scorer missed......don't care if it only had one pellet through it ). More concentration needed but good fun. . Brian thought his own shooting was average I think, but he still ended up with 30 odd more than me. Nice to bump into Nicky T and then Mr Potter. Oh and good shooting magboy/magman.
  11. I shoot there regularly and know the owner and a number of the lads shooting there. The site is at the bottom of a long track and well away from houses, though it is on the fringe of a built up area. Unfortunately there seems to be a few local people who simply don't want the shooting going on. It's a shame as really it's the only skeet layout reasonably close to me and it makes a nice friendly place to shoot. Hopefully they will acrry on with the 28 day thing and push for weekly shooting again if at all poss.
  12. Nice shooting fella's. Chard I'd happily pay £40 every time I went shooting for 73.
  13. Here as well, waiting to here if shooting still on.

    long weekend

I do remember the food being quite expensive Chard to be honest, I just tried to fill up with plonk beforehand and eat a bit less. :o One thing that I really remember was how stunning some of the Italian females were. Which is good given it was a romantic weekend with my other half.

    long weekend

Rome is Brill, we went a few years ago for a long weekend, loads to see, good food and wine. Unusually we went in august as it was the only time off I could swing and it was quiet. We both said you could easily spend a week or more exploring there, never mind a long weekend. Great fun at night getting sat down on a table outside in a piazza watching the world go by. Try not to use the local taxis though.
  16. I have a Stihl MS 361 and it's a superb bit of kit, endless power with an 18" bar and I use it for simialr tasks to you.
  17. Cheers Anni, looking forward to the next one.
  18. Don't bloody care, I've gone up from 49 to 51.
  19. Cheers for today folks. I found it really enjoyable seeing some different targets and some quality shooting (not me LOL). Can't wait to do another. Oh and thanks for the guidance Brian, God knows I needed it!
  20. Very partial to Tag Lag from Barngates brewery...on tap and travels well in a bottle. Other favs are Blonde Witch from Moorhouses, Golden Pippin from Copper Dragon/Skipton brewery and Lakeland Gold from Hawkshead brewery. I think with a little clever marketing the producers turning out real ale could get a lot of lads away from stella, fosters and the liike and onto a blonde type real ale..... a cool pint of something like Blonde Witch is every bit as refreshing as the pint of lager they are usually supping. And far better on the headache front after a session. Drunk lager up until a few years ago and still partial to an occasional bottled Warsteiner but for me real ale is the way forward. Good luck with your venture, cant wait to try some of your products.
  21. Cheers fella. Not up to yours or maglads standard yet but I'll keep trying.
