  1. Id go with the atec maxum.. The cmm4 is designed for the person who might fire a few shots a year at deer. If you will be using it a lot of the .223 the baffles can ware because they're aluminium. Atec even have this posted on their own site warning people.
  2. Torch finally came today after ordering it on the 2nd... the batteries, scope mount and lens came last week. WIll hopefully try it out tonight if the rain stops. Does the new lens work if you don't spray the housing black?
  3. did you play with the focus of the beam for a while by twisting the head of the lamp?
  4. I cant reg for them either and it keeps telling me my password is wrong even when i reset it and paste the new one in, then it tells me i need to enter the word in the box and still doesnt work
  5. I have had 2 4-16x50 scopes on my hmr and found if I leave it on 10x normally I can leave the parallax at 85 and shoot all distances comfortably. Its only past 10 when it gets parallax fussy.
  6. I bought a blackhawk traverse 9-13 off optics planet for half the price of a harris delivered to my door and its great quality. I took off a harris non swivel and this is every bit as good, the traverse and swivel is handy and can be locked to different tensions with a lever.
  7. Can anyone recommend a brand of 18650 battery and charger to use for a LED torch? Links if ye have anywhere cheap to buy them
  8. For a hand held lamp you wont regret the 170. the wiring comes loose inside the handle from getting pulled but if you open it and push some wire up and wrap loads of tape around it thick enough to stop it coming out the hole that puts the pull on the handle instead of on the connection.
  9. They are hit and miss apparently, I refused a free one for my hmr from reviews I read on forums. Theres even a sticky on the american hmr forum about stop starting stupid threads about holding zero if you are using a *** BSA sweet 17. it might hold zero if you dont try and adjust the target turrets.
  10. hmm, just after reading this though? http://www.tacticalscope.co.uk/non-uk-scope-orders-18-w.asp
  11. A friend of mine is returning to the Ireland(republic) next week by boat and I was wondering is there any legal issues with them bringing a scope for me? I know its ok this side but what about on the UK side? its 4-16x50 mildot.
  12. Does anyone have any experience with these scopes? http://www.scopesdirect.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=Nikko_Stirling_Nighteater_30mm_4-16x50 Was looking at getting one in 4-16x50 for a hmr or would anyone have any other suggestions for similar money? Hoping to find something with 30mm tube since I'm just after getting new mounts. Also does Opticswarehouse ship to the ROI?
  13. Anyone know where I can buy a blackhawk traverse 9-13 bi-pod in the UK or EU? Postage is fairly mental from the us and looking to see can it be picked up cheaper and delivered to the ROI
  14. Got it blasted back to bare metal and polished to a dull finish at the ould fellas work. Im In the ROI and each licence is 80 for 3 years for each gun and security at home needs to be updated more and more once you go over 3 guns so Id to do a swap this time around or alarm my mothers house. Definitely will have one in the safe in a few years again when im done with university.
  15. I miss my mossy Used love it... they could take some amount of abuse and it was cheap to give it a sand and respray when ever I wanted. I traded it in for a baikal o/u because Im a lefty and I found when woodcock shooting it was just that bit too slow getting the safety off. they were much lighter than the remmy 877 too.
  16. I shoot a r/h bolt action hmr with no issues and it never once bothered me but Savage to do 2 or 3 hmrs in thumbhole. fully stainless or blued.
  17. Id be happy enough with that. Were you still using a wing mirror as a rest? different brands of ammo could tighten the groups up more again.
  18. Zero it and remove as much human error as possible with some form of front and rear rest. Even bundled up hoodies and jackets are better than nothing. Then when its shooting where you want it you'll know if its you when you miss. When your not confident of your guns zero you will be second guessing each shot.
  19. It was obviously a typo
  20. I dont see how people are saying it doesnt make much of a difference... It takes a huge brunt of the bang away, there is still the subsonic crack but its not half as bad.. And also when you're down range its a heck of a lot quieter. I wudnt go without one on mine again
  21. Yeah and this will be around 150-200 so i really cant see it going through it. just have to find an optimum thickness and range where it will flip the duelling tree targets over.
  22. I was been sarcastic more than anything. im hearing off more people that it will pass through 10mm steel at 100 yards but these same people think the hmr wudnt kill a fox at that range. I cant imagine it doing much damage either. not even to half the thickness you used at 150 yards.
