    oh feth thats sooooooooooooooooooooo true
  2. i have had a fallow deer walk right past me last year in the woods close enough for me to touch i was wareing real tree green hard woods first time i have ever had that happen
  3. feth me mike thats a bit ott isnt it? true your pellet will cause some major damage but think of the mess lol also if the pigeon is well built there is a good chance of wounding him with a belly shot or if you are the wrong angle to him or you get a slight cross wind
  4. me & a friend on more than one ocassion built a shell scrape hide (on a field it workes well but it depends on the lie of the land) what that is you go around the field looking for a ditch (which is usual better) or plow furrrow that is within easy reach of your rifle & is close to a hedge close to the distance of the warren. You want your ditch/furrow just deep enough for you to lie level with the lip of said ditch/furrow you then cover your self with cammo net that hides your form and makes you look like part of the hedge. Or you can shadow stalk which involves long slow crawls (slow because you have to keep an eye on your prey at all times so you know when to freze & when to start to move again folowing lengths of shadow to get in to range of prey & then leting it have the good news this does take practice but it can be well worth it. Hope this helps.
  5. c.o.m. shots are a peice of cake at 15-20 yards if you look at the wing where it curves on the body if you aim just a little to the left or right (Depending on how the woodie is facing ie if its left side on then aim the right side of the curve) of the curve to avoid the bone of the wing you will get a lung heart shot that will drop him like a brick
  6. Feth me that looks fething awful hope you get better real quick m8

  14. My kid brother is thinking of buying & mounting a laser sight to the scope of the air arms s200 he has just brought. The thing is, is it worth 1) the cost of buying a laser & mounting it too the scope 2) What are the down sides to having a laser mounted to his rifle? ok first topic i have ever posted so im keeping my fingers crossed that it wont get locked lol

    bipods

erm is their enough wood on an air arms s200 to fit a bipod to it? i mean much smaller in length you might as well call it a carbine lol no serious now i think fitting a bipod to an air arms s200 is a waste of time they are stable enough because of their lightweight & i have admittedly only shot 1 a couple of times but i did make clovers at thirty yards prone using a 3-9x40 hawke scope now in my opinion if you can make clovers at thirty yards prone y bother with a bipod but this is just my opinion mind
  17. look m8 i dont know the guy but dont go washin his laundary in public if you got beef with him take it up with him dont go around telling us about it its up to him & her what they do with there lives

    Pellets

i have found over the years that most rifles tend to have there own prefrances in pellets my friend & my brother both own HW80's both rifles when zeroed using the same pellet showed differing preformances my brother found that his rifle shoots outstandingly on crossman premiers & my m8s rifle shoots better with bisley magnums go figure i think that some shops offer a pellet testing pack which saves you having to pay loads getting diferent tins of pellets i think it costs about £12 for 10 diferent brands.
  20. i have only shot 12 bores .410's & shot a 28 bore on 1 ocassion so i cant really comment on it but i love with 12s erm has any 1 shot with a 10 bore before are they any good for anything my m8 reckons they are ****
  21. hmm rough is more fun than decoying for 2 reasons 1) your walking around looking for bunnies pigeons etc instead of sitting freezing your bum off & 2) i think its good excercise and if you have dogs a good excuse for taking them for a walk. As for the shot gun thing i think its different strokes for diferent folkes although i tend to shoot better with an o/u than i do with a s/s for game yet shoot clays better with s/s than i do o/u strange or what? i was always told no game on a sunday but i always shoot pigeon on a sunday & rabbits as they are vermin not game
  22. woodies can be hard little beggars at the best of times :< i have had 1 where i hit him hard in the neck & head & he flew befor dying about 100 yards another 1 i hit i took his head clean off :*) how the hell that happend i will never know but it sure as hell made a mess of my game bag .
  23. i do fine with a hw80 set at just under 12ft pounds (due to that annoying glich in the law that if a copper wants to test your air gun he can & use what ever chuffing pellets he wants to test them some do better than 12ft pounds & can get you in the mire if you dont have it on fac :*)) i find c.o.m. shots if you line your cross hairs with the line of the curve of the wing you hit the heart & lungs most of the time but as the old adage goes if in doubt dont take the shot
  24. i know this is a little off of subject but i used to own a sheridan hunter in .20 pump action i found that this flew as flat as a .177 & hit just as hard as a .22 it was a damn good rifle but it was a sod to have to keep pumping it up all the time & the ammo was a real sod to get hold of but for fur & feather a good shot to the head/c.o.m. always brought them down does any 1 else have any expieriance with .20's i have heard that you can get a .25 air rifle are they any good?
