If your ambushing its best to remember to find a spot of cover that is not only well conceald from sight but offers good wind protection as well, As rabbits dont need to see you to avoid you their sense of smell is good if they catch a hint of scent then they can be even more twitchy than normal!.

They are the ones you missed most probably they have rememberd that a bright shiny light = a lump of lead flying at 12ftp towards them lamped foxes that have been missed act the same way. Have you tried using a fillter or a lamp with a dimmer switch it might fox them a bit!

Some times you have to get a bit (some times alot) wet & dirty to get the perfect shot. You some times are forced to crawl to get the perfect shot on rabbits because their isnt enough cover, or because the available cover is too low!

Before going mad buying loads of seperate tins snakebite y dont you try a pell pax their small tester packs of air rifle pellets its cheaper on your wallet & you find out what your rifle likes a lot easier they do have a web site but i cant think of it but im sure that their are a few others that hang around on this site that might know it.

spec forces are exempt from the ammunition clause in the geneva convention as they regularly use hollow point ammo in suppresed wepons which if used by regular forces are in breach of the convention.

An old hunters saying goes aim small miss big just because a scope is good it dosent mean you still cant miss a head shot!. If you dont know how to use it properly you can still make a mess & cause unneeded pain! At the end of the day i have always shot .22 i prefer it because it is less prone to being blown off course by wind that will send a .177 off target.

A little tip if you got patience bait your next magpie to some where safe. I have done this a few times with them & it does work. Leave raw bits of chicken where you want to safely shoot & you know where your prey is going to be do this 3-4 days on the run. Mr magpie gets a bit relaxed by day 5 on day five take some fishing line & a tent peg. Tie your fishing line on to a large piece of chicken meat secure the other end of the line to your tent peg. This stops maggie from flying off & makes him eat his piece of meat their while he is eating let him have the good news when you are sure you have a clean shot.
