  1. I'm heading out there for a week in March to deliver a bit of training to the Gibraltar Regiment. Quite looking forward to it as I've not been before.
  2. i wish i was going!! will have to settle for watching what coverage i can find on the internet.....
  3. as was i in 1999 and i passed without a problem, colour blindness is something that has developed over time. prob should have mentioned that in the original post..........
  4. I found out this week that due to being colour blind (colour perception level 4) I'm not going to be able to continue doing a job i enjoy. I'm a Military Unmanned Air Systems pilot instructor. I've been flying various Military systems for almost 10 years now and have logged over a thousand hours of operational flying time in Iraq & Afghanistan. The irony is that it wasn't until i moved to ground handling operations for the new "Watchkeeper" aircraft that my colour vision problem was identified when applying for an airfield driving permit. Ive never had any difficulty in identifying the colour of things in the past, apparently i can't differentiate between green and white but i can tell you that grass is green and clouds are white, and i can see the difference between cricket players and the pitch they are playing on just like anybody else. but what i can't see is the difference between coloured LED lights. All thats left to do now is find another job i fancy having a go at and hope i can still meet my career promotion timelines in order to progress as well as i was doing.
  5. Ask politely at the local fire station as they usually fill there own breathing apparatus cylinders
  6. I've been using Apple products for a long time but only recently splashed out a considerable amount of money on a MacBook Pro Retina 13" and i have to say i will never be switching back to a windows operating system. every thing about the MacBook is better........(in my opinion)
  7. This is my well disciplined 3 year old polishing daddy's boots for work tomorrow. how old should she be before i teach her to iron too...........?
  8. I've got it and i also use the iPad app but not all the channels can be streamed......... but its fun to change the channel on the tv from my iPad though especially when she is watching Eastenders!
  9. Fantastic!! Glad it went down well!!
  10. I'd have had them if there were 3 of them........
  11. Plenty of kiwi polish! And not that it matters to you now bit I find the best boots out there are Altbergs. There like wearing slippers
  12. Now that's what I call a comprehensive answer !!!
  13. That would be awesome as I'm best man in June and any funny material will come in handy
  14. i use larkhill regularly and its fantastic value for money and a really friendly atmosphere. i would recommend it to anybody
  15. hopefully my good reason being to control rabbits who's burrow holes are a danger to the horses will be good enough. I've been doing for the last few years with a standard air rifle but something with a flatter trajectory at a longer range would make my life easier.
  16. cheers Ted i wasn't sure that would be ok but I've been researching it and can't find anything that says i can't...... after all i imagine thats what a farmer would do for his own rifle if he has one.
  17. Can i sign as the land owner/tenant on my own FAC application? I want to upgrade to an FAC PCP air rifle. this will be used on my horse paddocks that i have 4 horses in and mine are the only horses as i am the sole tenant. the size totals approx 7 acres between 3 joining fields. My reasons for wanting to go down the FAC route are to be able to take shots at an increased range while reducing the likelihood of injuring an animal. i live in Wiltshire if anybody has any experience in dealing with their firearms department, i am also a Shotgun Certificate holder. thanks for taking the time to read this.
  18. I've got this on series link and looking forward to watching it
  19. get them to look at each other then say "your now looking at the person statistically most likely to murder you"
  20. Simply because 26" wheels have had years and years of research and development into them and on a budget your going to get a more proven and readily available platform from which to build on in the future, not to mention the availability of spares if and when required. On a budget you want the lightest bike you can afford. it stands to reason that cheap materials weigh more so the extra 3" in rim, tyre, inner tube and spoke length will all add up.
  21. Ha ha We were at our horse paddocks yesterday when a fox just wandered across the field as bold as brass, my 3 year old said "follow it home Daddy then go and dead it" ha ha
