nice one fen just like you i had some bad news as you know the farmer who was drilling the barley has told me he is going to have a feild of sprouts so that maens we got more sprouts to shoot on later in the year how unfortunate we are

i went out today on drilled barley got set up for 7am and i didnt have to wait long in they came for about two hours then it dried up not a bird so i packup and moved to another feild on the same perm and once again in they came i got 23 pigeons and not to say how many shots but at least i got my new pb .oh i forgot to mention i miised loads

i bought my off ebay £8.50 but that was just the speed control you have to make your own bok to house it just type in 12v speed control

personaly i make my own cradle and use real birds on it and i found for best results put the pole in the front

yester my self and fen boy went to one of my perms yes rape feilds when we got to the feild there was a few woods on it so we set up as far as pigeons go well not great the odd one now and again (long intervils) but it was not just about the shooting .A good chat was had and we had a hawk hover riight infront of us it was that close i good have counted it breast feathers really nice to see ,after getting there at 7:30-8:00 and it now beeing about 14:00 wewent to look elswere found a feild with gabages there were loads of sticks with tape flapping in the wind .but pigeons were droping in so to all oyu farmers sticks with flappy bit on the end dont work . But this feild was close to the road so on looking we went found barren land just soil oh and a few pigions so we set up and said we would give it an hour now beeing 15:00 .they were coming now still only 1 and 2 but more regular we were there till just before 5, T end total was 15 between us 6 on the rape and 9 on baren land so not a good day but enjoyable day and the dags got a bit of a run and very litttle work and we shot a few .It is not allways about how many you shoot but as long as you enjoy ur self ,so i just want to say thanks to fen and the dogs for a enjoyable day sorry we did not get any more.I cant menion my misses in this topic and i had a (feeeeeeeeeew)

it is a bit like fishing all the gear but no fish so what i am trying to say is some days you will get loads of birds yet another day you might not see any birds but dont give up and find someone on here that has been at it for years let them shoot with you to see where you are going wrong and there are plenty of good people on here use their knowlage as it could be a small thing you do wrong like stop as you are following a bird or trying to shoot birds to close as well as decoy patterns the help is on this site just ask but good luck and keep at it put the time in

magnets can be good and they can also be bad as sometime the birds flock to them then on another day they will shy away but most times ill put a magnet out to start and if it dont work i take it down and just stick the arms in the ground so it look like birds are comming in to land near the deacs .but like i said some people swear by them others wont use them so each to there own

hi mate some times magnent draw them in and other times they scare them off look at the crop watch callender and try get on feilds where that crop is grown ie:december rape may wheat but one dont give up you will get results at least if you in the feild you exercise and fresh air this time of the year can be hard i am told it is like fishing one day you will catch nothing but on another day you will catch plenty but remembr dont give up
