  1. Semi-auto for me! (But it's the only gun I've got...) And it's a Mossberg 9200... (Anyone else?) Mike.
  2. Almost all real cheeses. Nothing that needs peeling from between two sheets of plastic!
  3. There has been a recent, very, very, long thread on this subject on a Land-Rover forum, and the consensus was that cooking oil is not 'Bio-diesel', and you would be liable to prosecution if your tank was dipped and you were found to be using it. You can use 'Bio-diesel', which is 're-manufactured/re-processed, recycled oil', but NOT new cooking oil, which is not a bio-fuel... You are allowed 2,500 litres per year of BF, but not new cooking oil. I think you also have to keep records. Personally, I would not want to gamble on having my vehicle confiscated, as against saving a few pence per litre on fuel. Also it has no additives, detergents etc, so the effects on your engine could be catastrophic. Look at your frying pan for the deposits of burnt- on oil! There are also any number of horror stories from people who filled up with BD, and then found their fuel filters clogged up shortly afterwards. At your own risk...

    tv licence

It's not for the BBC, it's a broadcast receiving licence I think, doesn't matter what sort of broadcast, as long as it's live. Sky, Virgin, ITV etc.
  5. Thanks for posting that, I really enjoyed it. I will watch it again as well!
  6. Thanks all, not had much success since, weather very much against me last weekend, better luck next I hope. Roll on light evenings! Mike
  7. Well it's arrived today, is a nice dark green colour, comes with a carry bag, the zip on sides, guy ropes and tentpegs! there is a slot through the top of the umbrella hole to thread the ropes. A good deal for twenty five quid I think. Got to wait for the weekend to try it out, and hope for a bit better weather than last weekend. Mike.
  8. That's what I thought! Cheers! Mike.
  9. Well, I've ordered one, so I'll report back when I've tried it. Hopefully next weekend! They are 2.2metres wide at the front or across the widest part, so I should think there will be enough room to manoeuvre.
  10. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ULTRA-FISHING-TACKLE-ANGLING-2-2M-86-INCH-UMBRELLA-W-ZIP-SIDES-SEA-CARP-BROLLY-/300841801022?pt=UK_SportingGoods_FishingAcces_RL&hash=item460b91953e I've seen these on the bay, would it make the basis of a good all weather hide? I'm thinking one of these with camo netting around the front, keep the wind and rain off. I got saturated and frozen this morning, with only one pigeon ever in view...And I missed it! If it kept you dry, it wouldn't feel so cold I think? All opinions welcome, could spray it darker if that would be better. Thanks, Mike.
  11. I'm thinking about a battery and motor - electric golf-bag style...
  12. If the tyre is blown up!!! :whistling: I'm still out of breath... Mike.
  13. Thanks to those who have sent me a pm re this. As a novice, I failed to read the forum rules before posting , and it seems I should have waited 6 months before being allowed to post a 'wanted' or 'for sale'... (why is this?) So apologies if anyone has responded to the post and thought I was ignoring them, I'm afraid I haven't been allowed to access it, even though the post seems to still be up there... Thanks, Mike.
  14. That's why I like this forum, the friendly, helpful advice! (For the mostpart!) You been drinking Tightchoke? That wasn't friendly or helpful... In fact, quite rude! Not everyone is knowledgeable about such things, and we've all got to learn. Tolerance my man... Mike.
  15. I run a small business, 3 people. I have a PAT machine from First Stop Safety, http://www.firststopsafety.co.uk/Default.aspx They do a distance learning course, or you can attend a training course at their premises in York. Labels are cheap, and a bundle come with the machine, then your PA Testing costs are negligible. Mike.
  16. When I reloaded .357 and .38 special for target handgun shooting I used old wheel weights, and old lead pipe. I just used a piece of candle wax, and lit it as above. Makes a hell of a stink and smoke, not for the kitchen!!! Always worked fine. Mike.
  17. Thanks for this fantastic recipe henry d! I went for my first ever pigeon shoot with Pigeonblasterian last weekend, and we managed a modest bag of pigeons. I tried your recipe, and attach a photo of my version. It was DELICIOUS!!! ATB, Mike.
  18. Hi All, I'm new to pigeon shooting, and on a limited budget to start. Does anyone in East Yorkshire area have any unwanted decoying eqipment that they would like to sell? Apparently because I haven't been registered for 6 months yet, I can't access the 'For Sale' section so I am asking in this way. I can collect from pretty much anywhere in East Yorks, and occasionally come through to Wakefield, Castleford, Dewsbury and surrounding areas. Happy to pay reasonable price, not trying to scrounge freebies!!! Thanks, Mike.
  19. I can't make either Saturday or Sunday this weekend sorry, got too much work on and be working both days - the joys of being self-employed... Had to turn down pigeon shooting as well... :( Mike.
  20. That's an idea, I've quite a few Land-Rover wheel bearings in the garage, might be an old wiper motor as well... Thanks all, Mike.
