  1. Go for an AYA no.4!! - In my opinion they are the best guns you can buy!- small, hardy and good looking. You can get a 2nd hand one for about £500. I have a No. 4 12b, and I find it is great for every type of shooting, game, skeet etc hope this helps, tody

    FOR SALE

I have a window wiper motor for sale. It can be used for making a pigeon rotary machine. ( I have instructions on how to make one, if that helps) Works well, has its own gear to slow it down to half the speed; meaning your battery will last longer. sell for £20 tody

  5. Hi guys, sorry about all these questions about spring drillings- i am sure you're all sick of hearing about them! The field that has just been sown had a couple of thousand pigeons feeding on it yesterday. I went back today expectinging to see thousands and there were none! I dont know why this is- there are no other drilled fields yet i am sure the pigeons will be wanting to stop eating the bitter rape. Does anybody have any idea why they werent feeding, and will they be feeding again? - My idea was that they had eaten all the spilt, surface seeds; but surley they should be digging around to get the properly drilled seeds. I had planned everything too a tee, noted down flightlines etc etc and was going to shoot it with a mate on Sunday. thanx, tody

  9. Thanx Cranfield, I am planning on shooting it this weekend, and I dont think the owner of the wood lives close by. However I will chat to the farmer. As respect to the location of the field, it couldnt be in a better spot - the nearest dwelling is my house (3/4mile away) and there are no public rights of way. The cattle are a couple of fields away so they should not be a problem. It is looking good though, I got on top of my house this morning and used the binos, I could see plenty of pigeons on the field and another 30-40 flying down from the woods. - I will keep you posted on how it goes. cheers, tody
  10. Dont see many around me in Lincolnshire- theyve all emmigrated to the big cities havn't they? tody
  11. Cheers PP, I might consider making some hides. Cranfield, The pigeons are feeding at the wood end of the field and not near the bottom hedge. I will ask the owner of the wood, but is it neccasary, if I'm going to be about 1m from the wood border? What i might do is shoot from the bottom hedge, if the pigeons arent attracted then I will move to the wood border. If they are still not attracted i will set up in the centre of the field. Is this a good idea or not? cheers for the replies tody
  12. Hi guys, From the amount of beer stains and empty packets of scratchins left in the PW arms I guess you're all in there quite a lot However, I seem to choose the wrong time when nobody is there. - What time do u all get down there? cheers, tody
  13. Hi guys. Here is a terrible pic i have just drawn showing a field that has just been sewn with cereal. The colour on the pic means: brown with yellow= bit i will be shooting,i.e. the cereal Green= winter wheat Red slashes= No entry Dark green= hedges Black= Privatly owned wood As you may see from the diagram, it is impossible to shoot from the hedge along the winter wheat as its too far from the shooting area. What I would like to know; where I should shoot from? a. I dont know the owners of the wood, would it be leagl to shoot in the field, but bordering the wood (say 1m from it)? b. Would the pigeons mind too much if I built a temporary hide in the middle of the drilled cereal or the winter wheat? c. Would I damage the winter wheat and drilled cereal if I put a hide in them and walked about a bit? Any feedback would be much appreciated. Cheers Tody
  14. Keep yer chins up lads-I am not sure this would happen quite so soon If the law was put forward in the house of commons, it then has to go through the house of lords- As you know, they are all aristocracy, therefore most of them have been brought up with hunting and shooting. If the house of Lords say no to it, then it will be thrown away. If by some reason it gets through the house of lords, it has to be finally agreed by the queen. As you know she and the royal family are highly into their country sports, therefore she will say no.- It is then thrown out until the next time some clown suggests it. Until the royal family goes, I think we are pretty safe tody
  15. HI guys, just wondering, has anybody started on the spring drillings yet? If you have, hows it going and is better than the rape I have noticed the farmer on the land that I shoot has just started sowing them- hopefully some good shooting soon tody
  16. Poor lad. its a shame it happened.
  17. Wot the hell are you doing selling it!!?? I have one and they are the best guns in the world! (how much are you selling it for?- £100 to low tody
  18. Hi jay, They are both good. But I suggest you buy a rotary because it pulls the pigeons in from futher away as they can see it more easily. No mar tape is gr8 for reducing shine on your rotary. Decoys can also be used on the rotary, but they are not as effective- if the woman in your house lets you keep a couple of dead pigeons in the freezer- once defrosted they can work well on the machine! You cant however mount a decoy on a flapper as the wings are static. Hope this helps, tody
  19. 36.Can't have flashbacks to wars I was not in. (The Spanish-American War isn't over). lol. these are fantastic tody
  20. might not be the positioning of it, it maybe that it was shining. If ur shooting on clinng (clay) soil then u can reduce the shine by sticking the mud onto it. Or if its brand spanking new and you dont want to get more than a scratch on it you could buy some camo tape. tody
  21. NTTF- what did you shoot it with? tody
  22. hmmm, I will try and get a more appropriate picture Tody

  24. Yes m8 they do work. Keep practicing and you will eventually get the hang of it. Common mistake is to blow for to long and hard. There are some good books on the market that may help. tody
