  1. I thought the only Border Force to do that was the UK? Admittedly only once but its once more than previously. I cant see anything on the Channel Islands doing the same?
  2. I listened to what he said. I did not make up a narrative to suit.
  3. Yes. An illegal settler can kill a Palestinian on the West Bank and not be prosecuted. The settlement's in the West Bank are illegal. The Palestinians need a way out they need a chance of a future.
  4. You said :- According to Starmer's speech today anyone opposed to the Public Sector pay rises is living in the eighties, I think he will find that is him. He said that :- And no apologies to those, still stuck in the 1980s who believe that unions and business can only stand at odds, leaving working people stuck in the middle. No mention of anyone opposing public sector pay rises living in the eighties.
  5. He did not say that. So I make no apologies for any of the decisions we’ve taken to begin the work of change. And no apologies to those, still stuck in the 1980s who believe that unions and business can only stand at odds, leaving working people stuck in the middle. Who cannot see that this country needs a new path on growth.
  6. Access to health, services, id checks, housing, its endless. No one wants one but we all have a part to play or are we just happy to leave it to everyone else?
  7. It never happened. I think there was a Tory plan in 2011? That may have been a fiasco. Maybe but all the ones I met where from Portugal and Africa (maybe French Guyana but I doubt it).

    Royal video

I wish her well but would vote for a Republic given the chance.
  9. Current is too fast, it has the second highest tide range in the world. They would most likely end up on the rocks. Also I guess harder to hide if they did make it. We need ID cards.
  10. What has that got to do with the eu/uk trade deal that we were talking about agreed Dec 20? Have you found a breakdown to the 700,000 migrants?
  11. ? who? So we are agreed. It does happen. We want it to happen to further the UK's interests. So it is a good move by Kier to kick start the process. He may not get anywhere but he certainly will not if he does not try.
  12. I put the last few in a bucket then jet washed them. Prior to that I uncovered them left them on the top and they disappeared. 🤣 I don't bother with them now as I have no need for them. I once got some medal heads measured and after I thought why did I bother with that. They are now screwed to the door of an allotment shed.
  13. Presumably they then agreed the last deal. So to say it never happens is not reality. Seems to me you have to start with the bigger players and build support for whatever they are trying to do.
  14. An amazing number of Migrant workers far more than around here. They have a key worker scheme to cover hospitals, hospitality and trades.
  15. Jersey. Its small but well put together. You would have to rent for ten years
  16. I was boiling all of mine until I saw this trick and then swapped over. All good apart from the skin which stays attached. Unfortunately my compost attracts foxes so I have to make sure they are well covered and secure otherwise they disappear.
  17. He will negotiate with them as a Statesman. He will know the brief in detail. The EU is only used to bluster and sound bites from our side. Who knows if he will get anywhere or not. It has to be worth a try and it builds bridges and alliances where they were previously burnt.
  18. It's not the best answer for economic growth and a more competitive economy but nothing wrong with it. The reality is that we are part of a global market place, the market place determines the rules of trade. We can make our own trade deals but as a small market place we have less leverage. We are in charge of our own legal systems and we are a sovereign nation but in reality we have no choice but to conform to the norms, the same norms as apply to the EU.
  19. 2250 kicked out https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2023/jan/06/brexit-thousands-britons-expelled-eu This bit is AI; According to recent data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the number of people emigrating from the UK in 2023 was estimated at 532,000, with a net migration figure of 685,000, suggesting a significant number of expats are returning to the UK post-Brexit; however, specific data on the exact number of "expats returning due to Brexit" is not readily available as the ONS figures encompass all emigration reasons Large numbers of Brits emigrated for a cheaper lifestyle supported by reciprocal health arrangement. Given that arrangement is now withdrawn and health care is expensive it would be reasonable to conclude that cost has an impact on numbers.
  20. They clearly can't that's why they are coming back. Is there a breakdown of this 700000 figure you are bandying about?
  21. I reckon removing the rights of 1.2m Brits to return would have a bigger impact on Net migration than stopping all the dingy crossings.
  22. Only a couple of thousand Brits were kicked out of the EU (and they wont count). There are something like 1.2m Brit immigrants in the EU.
  23. No it never explained nett migration neither did anything that fell out Farage's mouth. It would be interesting to know what number of Brits have returned and been counted and what number are likely to return. The numbers will be huge.
