  1. Only a couple of thousand Brits were kicked out of the EU (and they wont count). There are something like 1.2m Brit immigrants in the EU.
  2. No it never explained nett migration neither did anything that fell out Farage's mouth. It would be interesting to know what number of Brits have returned and been counted and what number are likely to return. The numbers will be huge.
  3. Thousands upon thousands of Brits moved abroad and sometimes back again using freedom of Movement. No idea on Lithuania where do you have the data? Brits were not forced to move back but without healthcare (expired 2021) many thousands did and many more will. All added to the immigrant numbers.
  4. Freedom of movement ? 🤣Was done, dusted. Don't forget that Brits forced to return to the UK after migrating to Spain (etc) are also counted in the net migration figures.
  5. Good luck Marshman. It sounds like a leak or a meter issue. I had similar in the past but with electric. The meter being charged was not mine. They gave back 5 years of electric and the same again as compensation. Stay on the case.
  6. That's outrageous. I am about to move house and have discounted water as inconsequential. I better check. Have you checked with neighbours? I run a pool and sprinklers on the lawns.here so use plenty. Looking on line the average water bill is £245 for your area in 2023
  7. They are 27 countries. Give him chance he has lots of clearing up to get on with. The last lot took 14years of procrastination to get this far he is going to take longer than 14 weeks.
  8. How much??????? That can't be right????? I pay £17 a month £204 a year. I only pay for supply (half the normal cost) as we have no sewer. We are on a meter and water is I think £6 a cube.
  9. There is nothing showy about Starmer. He will get a better deal more likely because it's in their interest.
  10. Yes. What countries have invaded and held a country long term post hostilities. No. The same as Russia is unable to take Ukraine by force. Russia is ruled by a dictator. That dictatorship has a time span. The country is a failed state of self interested factions. Those factions are feeling the pain of Putins war. It's simply a matter of time before that pain becomes unbearable. The West is a loose collection of interests. The economic cost of the war is significant. It's simply a matter of time before that cost becomes unsustainable. When the fighting stops with whatever boundaries the hostilities will continue until the borders are reinstated.
  11. If Russia could rain missiles on Ukraine they would. They can only do it after stock piling. If they had decent kit they would use it, but they don't have it. They do not have enough men to execute any significant gains if they had they would. Yes they have continued to take ground but now hold less ground than they had in 2022. If all was good with Russia why is it not over? The incursion to Kursk is far more than pulling troops out of the Donbass. Kursk is an historically important area for defence for Russia alongside Stalingrad. It shows Russian weakness and make a mockery of the red line reservations from the West. Ukraine now digging in. The direct arson and assassination attacks by Russia in the West are another example of the desperation of the Russians.
  12. Russia is on it's knees. They are pretty much out of kit. If they were not, they would not be using tanks from the 50's and buying rockets from N Korea. The sanctions have had a huge impact on the economy and we now have for the first time gang leaders in country calling out Putin. He is unable to defend his own country. Kursk, Naval Fleet and fuel production are good examples. Appointing new heads of service in the morning and then getting rid in the afternoon. An iron grip is not the same as a secure grip. Ukraine is pretty much in the same place but fighting to exist. The promised kit has been slow to arrive. Innovation in Ukraine munitions is an eye opener for many western arms manufacturers.
  13. Great news for Sir Alan. What a nice gesture from Branson. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gqd7zrxqno
  14. Bike to work scheme is excellent. I have an electric road bike (giant) you can borrow it for a bit if you want to try it first. It's amazingly powerful.
  15. I would be surprised. Anything can happen though.
  16. Kamala will bring some gun checks. Apparently the father said the child had no access other than supervised.
  17. Apparently the French say the problem is our own fault as we have lax labour laws.
  18. I think that horse has bolted. Law has been changed. On the contrary, Starmer has never implied he would reverse the decision. He has been emphatic that he would not. I am sure he is only too aware of the division it would cause. Hopefully we can find a work around for trade, and at least youth movement. Without an improved trade arrangement the economic decline will continue. This is bang on. China only survives on trade growth. The whole model is currently at risk with market slow down. Without growth China could easily collapse. A war over Taiwan could save the day. This is one reason why the war with Russia must be won. A war with Taiwan will end the living standard we currently enjoy.
  19. I see MG dumping cars on the market. Ambassador to UK saying its not true. Its some words that fell out of the mouth of a politician.
  20. The current tax does not equal current spend. Every service is underfunded and broken. We need growth. Labour have a plan will it all work out? I doubt it but its one plan more than we had. We are making good progress so far. Disappointing that Labour are sticking to the austerity ticket.
  21. Oh dear. Labour could tackle all the propaganda videos people are sucking up.
  22. Brilliant. What a special moment. I have called them in close foxing but never had one land.
  23. Why? Because they are Labour? Look at what they have done is just a few weeks. Look at what they started with. It's too late to ruin the country but fingers crossed they can stop the rot. A bonus if they can change the direction of decline. Already good news re law and order, economic stability bill, changes to Lords, planning changes. All good basic work. The start of a quality shaping operation. There is no panacea for uk problems. The Tories clearly lost the plot. We all hope that this lot will be a plus. Time will tell but a great start.
