  1. What constriction is wad wizard in 10 please?
  2. Yep, it all still boils down to putting it in the right place, which for me is normally behind the bird haha...there's a lot more to think about in this reloading game than just throwing few components in a shell and pulling the trigger..
  3. Cheers for replies fellas, new to reloading and it just throws another spanner in the works for me haha, reading up on steel loads ,majority seem to go with speed kills, so get loads up in velocity, but goes to show you can drop it to suit the situation your in ..ie close range ,decoying etc
  4. Good clips them, what is the lowest velocity you can fire steel at to ensure clean kills? He is firing some there below 1300fps, is that to low or ok?
  5. Hia fellas , any know of a place that sells long gun slips, I can just fit gun in slip at the minute, that's after taking choke off and tying a bungee around the grip once in bag.. Ideally need it to hold a gun 56" long and preferably with ties at end, as opposed to zips, and Velcro .. Cheers in advance
  6. If you deceide on an extrema 2, a friend of mine is toying with selling his, I could put you in touch if needed
  7. Iv just been and bought aload of gear off a lad selling up... 500 mixed once fired, different powders ,wads, shot, gas seals , primers... Enough stuff to make at least 300 shells... So no need to swap cases now, cheers for advice tho fellas
  8. Hia lads, been looking at a few recipes to try out over the summer months, and wondering how important the casing matters?? I'm loading for 10 bore, I have lots of once fired federal cases, some recipes are federal case, some are remington case.. Could I use the federal as a replacement or not? What would it alter? Is it dangerous? Genuine questions I'm new to this... Cheers
  9. No very true... But ... We just went out to see season out for an evening flight, and managed 4 wigeon... So to me it's always going to be worth the effort... I'm new to this game, so can't really compare to yesteryear ... But blanks seem part of it
  10. I was thinking like that yesterday kent,... But like every other day recently after the previous blank... Dragged my **** out of bed this morning, and was rewarded with a bird... Positive thinking(that's what I keep telling myself haha)
  11. Done, should post this in the other sections of the forum to, not everyone will visit the wildfowling section, but should still vote to help out
  12. Cheers for replies, worry over, didn't want an accident happening that's all , to either me ,dog or my shooting buddy.. Gun is back in action
  13. Panic over, it is flared for threading, iv just been and looked at 2 other barrels, cheers for input tho lads, thank you
  14. Shot I use is steel 2,s for duck mainly, and steel bbb,s when after geese, iv been looking on www again this morning and have found information that browning gold 10, is flared at end to accommodate the threading for multi chokes... So looks like it is be being a worrying fanny, it's still getting looked at by gunsmiths this week tho
  15. Thanks for replies fellas, it is to be inspected before the week us out
  16. I was looking at them recently, I decided not to go with them as I didn't like there snipey heads, I like a stronger looking dog, but that's just me, they look very well conditioned dogs, and seem well tested
  17. The descrepency only seems to be on outside, when looking down the inside of barrel ,no matter how hard I try I can see nothing, it's perfectly clear ,no shadows or anything, it's only on outside, and only when I hold it up against light and tilt head to catch it.. I'm still going to get it checked for peace of mind.... Don't want it making my shooting any worse haha
  18. Think your right, I could be turning into my bird and worrying about nothing.. I'll get it checked out and go from there, I'll put it away now instead of looking at it every 5 minutes and annoying myself even more.. Cheers for advice fellas
  19. Gun is browning gold 10, the discrepancy can be seen if I look down both sides, it's that minor it could be flared as you say for chokes, I'm going to take it down to gunsmiths next week, for look.. When I look on inside of barrel it is perfectly clean and clear ,.. No sign of anything untoward
  20. You wouldn't see it on a picture, it's really that small, looking at it, I have to hold it up to a light and run my eye along the barrell, and then move it around till I get it at the right angle to detect it.
  21. It's single barrel mate, semi auto.. Iv read that before, some are bulged where choke threading is.. but it's something iv never noticed before... It could be the case, but I do think I'd of noticed it... Saying that I'm like a zombie most mornings haha
  22. Yes it's multi choke,as to why it's bulged ..no idea, I'm presuming stuck wad, as no mud or out was stuck in end, it's cleaned religiously after every outing, the day I think it's happened, I had 5 shots, noticed nothing different in sound after firing so I'm a bit miffed about it.. Choke goes in and out ok still, if you run hands down barrel you can't feel it, it's only visible when light runs down side of it ....gun in question is browning gold
