  1. Yes, get an electrician if in any doubt.
  2. This is my gun. Feel free to contact me for further information. Thanks for looking.
  3. That's what I effectively said without quoting bore sizes.
  4. Invectors fit in my 101 XTR in place of the short extended winchokes. Late Winchesters, such as the Select use Invector Plus.
  5. Previously bought by a now deceased mate for use with his Ranger pickup but looks to be unused - just grubby and scuffed. 1800mm long when opened, folds to 700mm x 500mm wide. Weighs about 10Kg. On internet selling for over £60, Collection only , due to size and weight, from Basildon, Essex area. £25 Thanks for looking NOW SOLD, thanks nobbyathome
  6. Yes, invector tubes will fit. But - the bore on a Winchester is larger than a Browning with invector chokes so the choking is different. If I remember correctly a Cylinder invector choke gives about quarter choke when fitted in a Winchester. Relative bore sizes are available in a chart onTeague's website.
  7. Ballistol is safe to use on anything including skin as it's antiseptic.

Surely asking for trouble - 12 mile round trip in rush hour in a diesel is far from ideal.
  9. I just had an email from Nobs. Beater with dog needed near Witham, Essex. £40 expenses!
  10. 2010 Jimny was doing around 33mpg local on road tyres with light off roading. Have changed to 2013 Subaru Forester diesel and getting 45mpg for same use.
  11. For a reasonable quick job mix TruOil half and half with white spirit. It penetrates better and does not have such a glossy finish.
  12. Andy at Roman River gundogs in Essex is a good all round trainer and trials HPRs. Well worth a visit or at least speaking to.
  13. At least get the trainer to show you what he's done with the dog and the commands used when you pick the dog up. Why not use a local trainer for everything - simples.
  14. Bearing in mind the water's a cold shock when the dog jumped in he might have suffered limp, or swimmers, tail. Labs seem prone to this and the symptoms you describe are what my lab gets going into cold water. Some vets seem to be unfamiliar with it. My lab normally recovers in a few days.
  15. I guess you lack experience if you're asking advice. Nothing wrong in that - better to ask before you take the plunge and buy. I'm on my first springer; a Hollydrive dog, both parents FTCh . He's as soft as they come but hard hunting and can easily get away from me if I'm not careful when he starts hunting out of sight in the rough. Yes, I know it's my inexperience but I see a lot of people in the same position on shoots. I've not yet heard a keeper moan about a dog being too steady - only shouting about the ones that hunt off into the next drive. It's a lot more relaxing and enjoyable when working a dog that naturally sticks closer. Whatever you decide, good luck and enjoy.
  16. My neighbour, now in his eighties, told me he used to do this. He then progressed to a motor bike and carried the springer in a pannier bag!
  17. If you tell me where it is I'll go round and check it out for you before you part with your money. You don't want to get caught!
