  1. I think some head shot ones go to zoos and safari parks as fur meat and bone ratio is correct for a healthy diet.
  2. Well done farm round here in the midlands, Warwickshire went for £18000 an acre grade 2 land! HS2 paying £8000 compensation for similar quality.
  3. Aren’t they heavy though with the toe cap? Also I bought a pair of Chameau and they are like slippers in comparison to other generic wellies. Wear them all day and in a different league. However after 10 years of relatively light use the rubber has perished so as noted in the above posts they have a shelf life.
  4. I would also agree but how long will it take to sort out? I’m not sure how many shoot pigeons etc but if everyone applies for individual licences, I can see a major backlog coming....
  5. Thanks for quick replies and the suggestions folks. I’m going to have to go and raid my brother in laws tool box for a pin, borrow his vice and take my angle grinder with me aren’t I? I was hoping for a “so and so sells em posted for a quid” type reply but sadly not to be. H
  6. 30 I think, but 45 degrees I believe works best in a vacuum so I take your point.
  7. Hi basically I’ve lost the little dowel that should fit in to the top of the rifle and the bottom of the mount to stop it creeping along the rifle after continuous use. Where can I get a suitable replacement? I’ve tried using a pellet but of course it’s soft lead and doesn’t work after a while. Thanks H
  8. Indeed, you will not be shooting into trees with a 22LR as at 45degrees elevation they can travel a mile!
  9. I just had to look up West Mercia as had not heard of it. I am now educated and think it would be Warks that got the raw deal, however I have no idea. While doing this I see that West Midlands police are a possible future partner for Warks. I can only this as a bad thing, metropolitan and rural police forces have little in common.

    Myxi in hares

Haven’t shot hares because they’re are so few around here, however happily recently they are a few more which is nice to see. I used to shoot a lot of rabbits but almost none to be had for the last 6 years.(Northants) Article in the paper this morning saying they think it’s jumped species and if you find any hares with Mixy to email d.bell@uea.ac.uk University of East Anglia With the location and if possible a picture of the infected animal .
  11. I've seen those, are they any good does anyone know?
  12. Thanks to all for your answers, ultra you've been busy! H
  13. Thanks B22rf are they of a similar size to a meteor or a bit heavier? H
  14. Hi there The question is in the title really, he has use of a co2 powered multishot but I was thinking of getting a break action. BSA meteor springs to mind ( all puns intended) but wondered if there was anything better/ lighter out there nowadays? Second hand is preferable as don't want to spoil the lad. I did do a search but without much luck. Thanks in advance for any advice. H

  16. I think this sums it up as I was using up old ammo from a bad period. However my friend was not, (unless the shop had old stock ) Be careful As an aside, I fired 3 shots from a new unstressed looking batch into the ground to check post fired cases, one sounded considerably different, it wasn't a dud but just to put that in the mix. Be safe H
  17. I wonder how many they sell, probably not many in the scheme of things. But you're probably right, until someone is seriously injured and I would expect it would need to be in the states, a successful prosecution would make them change or even withdraw it from the shelfs .(if they didn't manage to settle out of court.) 18. I would say the opposite, that's why it would change because of the risk of a lawsuit should someone get injured.
  19. I'm all for pinning it Dekers, although as much as you like to state it, it was not a feature of website forums when I frequented them often and indeed was introduced to the round from them. Anyway that's a mute point we agree it should be more commonly known. I'm also not that bothered if they split on firing to be honest, but I don't want them leaving the factory like that ( split) as then you might get damp propellant and resultant squibs followed by possible blowback dangers that we've spoken about. I've swapped the batch for a newer lot ( lol, autospell spelt beer instead of newer, tempting!) which are Remington and despite the fact that I believe from reading on here that CCI make all the 17 HMR cases they look a lot less 'stressed' at the neck and I found no splits.👍 I hope they are better and out of curiosity I will check the spent cases and report back. I've also emailed Hornady Cheers H
