  1. I'm glad you asked, I was thinking the same. Lol
  2. Martyn. 2233 They will have plenty of work, I've got some cracking rabbiting ground, some big earths in orchards and hay fields Nets, long nets are my favourite, can't wait for a frosty Sunday morn I've been ferreting since I was ten years old and still get excited even now after all them years
  3. Had a piece of luck guys Chap near packing up ferreting, just got three Jill's and a no bits hob all in perfect condition Going to do the lottery tonight when I get home Saved me 90 quid and got three more quality Jill's result
  4. Unless your overrun, try not to use poison, secondary poisoning is a major thing these days ( paperwork required) Dig a hole put in a wooden box and lid that will allow say 3 traps to be set inside, I find a open hands height with a conventional rat trap works best , if your using a rat trap screw them to the base so they can't jump on going off, drill then a at each end a 50mm hole and connect 50mm pipe to the two holes put in the ground with lid level with ground so you can lift and check Iay the pipes out to resemble two rat holes backfill and after a couple of days they should be using it, place some pellets or wheat in if required. If you have to resort to rodenticide you have very secure bait box as well, check em every time you feed up Three or four around where you have a problem will sort reasonably quick Patrol
  5. Hi Uk Sound advice from Paul What's your location, are you near a village I had an incident a few years ago nearly mirror that and it turned out to be two feral cats that had taken up residence nearby , just killed about 40 birds in a low piece of game crop next to a pen and left em there in the cover. While your waiting for the results of the stealth cam have a sit up on a high seat with NV or thermal odd hours, you never know how your luck will pan out Good luck Patrol

    mackerel

Hythe and Sandgate beach they're showing pretty good there, last Saturday, fished the up and down tide for eight hours Joeys first off , the better ones came on high tide, reasonable numbers, got enough for the freezer with ease ( earned some brownie points there with SWMBO she loves mackerel) Oddly nothing on the bait rods, tried Rag, lug, peeler and dear old squidly, not a take, not even crab damage. My mate fished Deal pier on Saturday for two good sized doggies I've just got a larger chill box with the inbuilt fridge runs on 12v or 240 v. Took it on the beach with a car battery, absolutely perfect, got the fish home really chilled down and in perfect nick Patrol
  7. Annie .22 LR. Fantastic rifle very very accurate, BUT the bolt and ejector drove me to despair Never again, mate of mine purchased a brand new one and thats been back twice, such a real shame for a superb accurate rifle
  8. Weihrauch HW60 j are a brilliant buy, match trigger as well as a slick well made bolt, proper metal mags and very very accurate I have got three in different calibers and are all spot on I also have ac. CZ 455 thumb hole are also bang on and very accurate, nice rifles and very reliable, although I find the bolt operation on the HW60 superior on build and operation Patrol
  9. Hi Mike Got up this morning, intending to do a heap e mails invoices etc - no internet Out in the garden under a tree with a decent bit of shade and a lemonade - nodded off 2 hours - won't be able to sleep tonight now Might as well have a run out Tonight Best not - every rifle needs a clean and a brush up, better get on with it I suppose while the house is empty Cheers Patrol
  10. Just got in, had a cracking evening Out stalking first 2 cull bucks grassed One had really wonky antlers the other one is ( was) fraying a area of willow saplings to death the only two left to get, the others have got the Rut to themselves Two dog foxes in ze bag after dusk after changing the Blaser over to the 222, cal I've put my n870 on the duce on QD mounts and its shooting a ragged hole, 70 - 80 yards max both shots on the foxes nothing testing but good shot placement dropped on the spot. Christ it was a tad warm tonight, got rid 2 litres of orange squash before midnight, then promptly sweated it all out yomping across a deep wide valley ( not recommended) out from 10:30 with the thermal , first off see a fox laying under a ash tree 450 ish yards laying on its back having a right old snooze, it picked a good spot, couldn't get no nearer than 300 yds from it, watched it for 30 mins it just rolled over slid into some cover and melted away Cracking night out, I've put the Roe in a new make of mesh tubes that come in a continues roll, really impressed, slip it over and tie off the ends , perfect, my chiller is a 30 min drive from where I was, not a fly touched the Carcases Patrol
  11. Nice one Foosa Great result Spraying the oilseed rape down this way, won't be long now for some open fields, couple of weeks they will be cutting, happy days Patrol
  12. If you're after fox at close quarters you've got to up your game on field craft, IR could have an effect if it's sitting on your boot Out to 200 yds and spooked by an IR is probably down to a previous miss and or a bad time as far as the fox is concerned If you miss you've gotta think outside the box sometimes to get the result, planning the visit, field craft, right position I've got a perm near me where all sides of it are patrolled twice a week with the noisy lamp crew with shotguns , the foxes are so spooked about a lamp and noise, they are in the next county in a blink, it's all about waiting and planning your stalk with NV it gives you the edge I've always found quietly quietly catchee monkey, if you've got to get it, get it , don't have a go at it Best to see 2 and grass them rather then charge about and see 10 shoot one. NV is a great tool If you see em and can't get on em, best thing is to learn and plan your next recce, retreat quietly and find a solution Patrol
  13. Now that's what you call a high seat. - I want one. Lol Patrol
  14. Is it just me getting the proverbial salute from Charles Reynard (aka CR) On a regular basis Out rabbiting tonight, gathered up quite a few with the WMR, around 11:30 gets the 222 out to have a look see for a fox as hadn't seen one all night, stalked around with the thermal " bingo" there it is 400 long yards away worming and mousing the paddock three paddocks away working way towards me. Breeze in my favour perfect Into stealth mode edging along to within 200 yds perfect thinks I, foxes on this bit don't do lamps or fox calls they off like a shot full tilt and don't stop to look back, so it's a proper on the ground stalk in Then it starts to go down hill, there are 3 fences between me and CR at this point, he's working to and fro the patchy hedge fence line until he scrapes under the fence into the final paddock closest to me. Game on 120 yds away, CR then sticks to the hedge line like glue, the chap I had with me then stood on a twig that went off like a firecracker CR promptly sat down and stared straight at us waiting for a excuse to bolt for a full ten minutes, in the end he or her lifted its backside and promptly had a slooooow evening stroll back the way he come from behind 3 fences and hedgerows not once showing a clear shot only a Texas heart shot through all the fencing and hedge,.the salute. Lol The stalk in, amazingly 1hr 20 mins from start to finish, brilliant night and an appointment made for the week after next - same place same time. Lol Perhaps a couple of high seats as well to get above the fences and hedges, I feel a plan coming on. 😎 Patrol
  15. Mike/ Bornfree Nice result around I had a dog fox the other night two handed jobby to lift it, really really good condition and weighed like a ballast tank. May not have seen so many Cubs yet but the adults are in good nick Patrol
  16. You've got a thermal spotter your 90% there, I've got a 6.5 photon with nm800 IR and I shoot foxes with 222 out to 200 yds all night For the price of em they are a tidy low budget piece of kit decent IR is the answer If needs be decent QD mounts on all, swap em over quick zero shot and your ready. That way you can keep a decent day scope on the rifle whenever you want. Patrol
  17. Few weeks ago I watched a flock of alpacas with the thermal when a fox came in the field and they just stood and stared at it as it walked through the flock The fox working the field the alpacas moved off into the valley, the fox hunted back my way and walked into a 222 pill, I left it on the field for half an hour waiting for another to appear. The alpacas come back and can only describe it as stomping, they for some reason took offence at it this time around and took to it. Very strange animals alpacas Patrol
  18. I had a problem with the NV mount not fitting the base mount , few deft file stokes opening up the gap soon had it fitted as tight as my wallet opener. Works a treat now
  19. Done all the Bucks I need to take out, had no signs yet on the rut from those remaining, hopefully it's on route shortly Patrol
  20. Just bagged a half tidy vixen 150 yds with the old faithful .222. 50 yds from the pen. Nice result Well pleased Birds coming in 2 weeks, hope this rain eases up a bit for a few weeks now give them a chance to settle in and get up in the cover of the trees out the way Patrol
  21. Hi Foosa Nice result there matey, I gotta say the foxes look in fantastic condition in your location, we've got a couple ( oooops did have some) of really **** condition foxes hereabouts, low weight, fur not good etc etc, The last four dog foxes grassed however been spectacular on condition, weight and coat, prior to that really scraggy, things are on the up Patrol
  22. Had to watch it twice its a cracking bit of filming well done Patrol
  23. I'd send it back to the importers and get it fixed properly with a new part and ask at the time if the part is available in steel rather than plastic. If you don't ask you don't get
  24. Guys I have two or three bipods sitting on the shelve. Ones side swivel other two fixed only short ones but perfect for prone shooting. Swivel £50:00. Non swivel £30:00 plus postage 5:00 each Cheers Patrol
